Eddie heard the sound of the gun being loaded behind him, the sound of footsteps coming towards him, and the sound of what he assumed was going to be his final moments on this earth. He looked up towards the night sky, and gazed upon it. Filled with millions of stars, it was perfectly clear. Was this the perfect night to be wacked or what?

It had been a long time since he had felt the cold of a glock pistol on the back of his head. It was definitely something that he would remember for the rest of his life, but this certain occasion was one that will haunt him forever, even after death. He obviously wanted a way out of this, a way to cheat death a fourth time. But it didn't look like that was going to happen.

"Fuck it...." He thinks to himself. Everyone dies, but that doesn't mean the end. Perhaps his legacy would live on in the way of his estranged good for nothing son. Maybe one day he'd realise all the things his father was working for and that he would finally understand. Then again, maybe not.

"Alright, stop jerking each other off back there and hurry it up. I'm fucking freezing over here."

BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG.

October 12th 1927.

Eddie had just come out of the bar down the street from his home when two feds grab him by both arms and throw him into the back of the paddy wagon. Fucking cocksuckers were tailing him everywhere. This time they decided to actually pinch him. About time they started growing a set of balls eh.

For some reason they had decided to throw a bag over Eddie's head, so he made the assumption that these feds were corrupt. They'd obviously heard what line of business he was in and they obviously wanted a piece of the action for themselves. Greedy fucking bastards. Eddie had more than enough money to pay them off, that much was damn certain.

A couple of hours later and the wagon comes to a complete standstill. Eddie, being sat in the back, falls forward onto the floor and struggles to pick himself up while his vision is blackened out from the bag and his hands are tied together behind his back. He listens quietly and hears the sounds of footsteps surrounding the wagon. Maybe this wasn't just your average cop looking for a handout. What the fuck had he gotten himself into now.

Seconds later and the doors to the wagon come flying open. Hands were now grabbing Eddie to pick him up, and he is thrown out of the wagon. He proceeds to be dragging inside of a building and brought down three flights of stairs. Eddie gets thrown onto a chair and he hits the floor one more time, landing onto the back of the chair. Hands once again pick him up and he once again has his hands tied behind his back, around the back of the chair he had previously landed on.

It took a few minutes for the bag to be torn off his head and when it came off, Eddie struggled for vision as the room was too bright. Once he came around and could see clearly, he noticed that there was only two guys in the room with him. He looked them up and down, trying to figure out who they were.

"Okay, pigs, who the fuck are you and what do you want."

They remained silent for a moment just staring at Eddie, probably sizing him up to intimidate him. But what they didn't know was that he really didn't scare easy, if at all. Many times someone had tried to put the fear into Eddie, but each time the person failed or was killed in the process.

They began introducing themselves to Eddie, and they then began to explain to him that they had a job for him to do. They wanted him to assassinate the mayor of Philadelphia, to put a bullet in between his eyes. Wondering why the fuck they wanted him to pull off a job like this, Eddie continued to listen. He became very intrigued and curious as to why they wanted this done.

Figuring it was because he had a military background, and was a soldier before he turned gangster, Eddie knew he didn't want to do this job, but he knew that these cops would find some way to have him locked up for good, and true enough that's exactly what they were planning to do to him if he refused to do it.

October 15th 1927.

Eddie was on top of the old church building in the heart of Philly. He was perched underneath the bell in the tower. He was leaning against the top of the railing holding onto a military sniper rifle that he once used in the war to murder a captain in the enemies camp. He was no schmuck when it came to taking a shot and his aim was perfect. He was hoping that today was going to be no exception.

He wasn't able to tell any of the other associates what was happening as he didn't want to drag them into this. They'd probably try to stop him if they knew what he was planning on doing. But what other choice did he have? Eddie had a good thing going on, and he wasn't ready to go to jail just yet, not when he was in his prime. Those feds had promised to take the heat off his whiskey running business so this was now a job he was ready to pull off. He just had to wait for his moment, pick the right moment to take the shot.

The mayor had just stepped out from his office to talk to the press and Eddie had his head lined up on the end of his rifle. He waited for a few moments then pulled the trigger.

BANG.

Time seemed to slow down while this rifle bullet made it's way down to meet with the mayor's head. To send his brains splattered on the wall behind him. But just like when you think you've made the big bucks on the world series, you realise just what a horrible mistake you've made betting your life savings away on the cubs to win. That's how Eddie felt in that moment when he had saw what he had just done. A terrible fucking mistake. The mayor's daughter had somehow stepped in front of him as Eddie had taken the shot, and now it was her brains that was splattered. She had hit the floor and Eddie just froze. He didn't know what to do, and knew he had been made. The cops were now coming for him, and he knew that he was going to be wacked for this.

Hearing that sound coming from behind him made Eddie realise that his life was about to be over. But was it? This couldn't be the end. Those feds knew exactly what they was doing when they got Eddie to do this job. They had no intentions of letting him live his life away from their heat, they wanted to bring him down and that's exactly what they have done.

BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG. BANG.

Six shots had been taken, and Eddie was still breathing. He wasn't dead just yet. He turned his head to look at what had just happened behind him. Smiling a huge smile of relief, he got up off his knees. His trousers were filthy and slightly ripped from the ground beneath him. He was on the landing strip of the Philly airport surrounded by three dead cops.

He turned around to face his associates.

"You got here just in time...."
