Hidden Secret of Seattle Started by: Mei on Aug 21, '18 16:17

There are moments in life, like quick intuitive flashes when you enter a situation, and for a moment, you let go of all your worries as you sit quietly in a joyous manner, but at the same time you regret ever being there in the first place.

It was the case for me on a very particular day involving Coltrane, Secra, @Leo_ Maranzano, myself, and anyone else that was there that I probably hadn't noticed due to my airhead self.

"Stop it. Get a room. Eugh."

I began to speak amidst their witty and somewhat flirty remarks to each other. My cheeks flushed as I said it in a playful manner. I rolled my eyes. Disgusting. How could you be so cute to each other while I'm here, sitting beside Coltrane, who I assumed didn't have that much interest in me like Leo had for Secra.

Disgusting!

From an outside perspective, I must have been portrayed as an uncomfortable thirdwheel of a couple that was dating, but didn't even know they were dating yet. Secra and Leo really fit well together. I mean, not just because of their similar quirks, but I could tell just from the first time of meeting them that they really put their trust in each other.

They weren't dating, from my understanding. Or maybe they were hiding something from us.

I didn't know much.

But there was one thing I was sure of. They looked cute together, and if they ever decided to exchange wedding vows, I'd be all over that too.

I crossed my my arms, half jealous and half trying not to explode from the cuteness that created tension in the air. Not just for me, but for Coltrane as well. I sensed the look of amusement in his eyes, and it made me crack a smile.

"Anyways. Enough of that. Ahem. So what should I do on my first day of Seatte? Still trying to adjust to my new home and all. Was thinking I should visit the business district tomorrow. Can you recommend any places?"

Colt couldn’t help but smile at Mei’s reaction. He was used to seeing the two very close “friends” exchange flirty remarks and he found it cute as fuck. It reminded him of his Joy. He just sat there, fourth wheeling, not wanting to disturb the couple and exchanging some comments with Mei, but mostly enjoying her obvious discomfort

She quickly took him out of his daydreaming as she began talking to him. “Mmmh. Very good question. Leo has an amazing ice cream shop not far from here. Other than that, I know Shini has a very nice bar and the late and great Joy had one as well, which I will be taking over to continue her legacy.”

This man was certainly enjoying my nervous body language as I sat across from the cute pair, but I guess I didn't mind. It was Secra and Leo.

Anyone else, and I'd go bonkers.

“Mmmh. Very good question. Leo has an amazing ice cream shop not far from here. Other than that, I know Shini has a very nice bar and the late and great Joy had one as well, which I will be taking over to continue her legacy.”

I longed for some ice cream right in that moment, almost salivating in my mouth at the thougth of cold liquid running down my throat, but I thought against it because of my weird tummy reactions to dairy.

Maybe I would head down to the bar later and grab some drinks. The mentioning of a man named 'Shini' resounded in the air, and I was eager to meet the owner. He could give me some tips on how I could start my own business.

Although, I didn't think that would be a good idea. I was too irrational and hot-headed at times. Not to mention, my regular giggle fits would cause nothing but disruption in the workplace.

I had heard about the passing of the late Godmother of Seattle, Joy. Obviously I haven't had the chance to meet her since I had moved to Seattle after the sorrowful event that had happened, but I heard great things. My heart ached for Coltrane, but deep inside I knew he was managing well.

He was a man that intrigued me in many ways, and his leadership I had yet to criticize, but who was I to make such an opinion. I was but a worthless soul. Sponsored by LuciousLyon.

Speaking of which, I suddenly see him walk in through the doors of the restaurant. Coltrane broke away from our conversation and shouted enthusiastically in the air. "Well, well well! Look who showed up!"

Leo was enjoying being around with Secra he really feels lile being him self say and do what he feels while she is with him without worried of being misunderstood.

thad day Mei was there for the first time with them, he was keep some of his feelings for secra inside her heart waiting for the proper time to tell her about them.

He recognized the looking in Mei's eyes and coltrane, an idea came to his mind to break the tense, "what do you think about having some ice-cream for free ?" Said by Leo after he looked at both coltrane and mei, as he can use this chance and express his feelings to secra while having something she likes to have.

"What do you think about having some ice-cream for free?"

It seemed as if everyone was talking at once, and I was having trouble hearing Leo as Coltrane continued to shout his friendly greetings to Lyon, who had just walked in a second ago. I leaned closer, and asked him to repeat again, but the thick tension that rose between Leo and Secra made me think that he was just trying to break the silence.

"Ice-cream?"

"Errr.. n-no, I'm okay."

Any sane person would have said yes, but I was eager to get home and I would leave it to the both of them to entertain each other. I swear, I could feel myself sink into the dark corners of my mind as the mixed feelings of jealousy and loneliness surged forward.

Knowing me, I'd probably just indulge in my own container of icecream at home, and subject myself to the romance novels that patiently waited for me on the couch.

I began to get lost in my own mind, but I came back to reality when Coltrane shouted something again beside me. I slightly jumped at the loud projection of his voice, before rising from my seat and nodding my head towards the people that had accompanied me for lunch. "Secra. Leo. Coltrane. I best be on my way now.."

I could feel someone's eyes landing on my back as I walked out the restaurant, but paid no attention and continued walking. When I finally reached my car, I took a big whiff of the fresh air that coated the streets, which gave me peace of mind. I closed my eyes for a second, just standing there beside my car and taking deep breaths.

Moments like these were rare.

You stop, and just appreciate.. like, REALLY appreciate what the city has to offer. My life was turning around for the better, and though the death of my cousin still comes into my mind, I had to promise myself to keep moving forward.

It had been three days now, since coming here to Seattle, and I was yet to seek out more information about the lifestyle that was offered around here. I had wanted to seek out the boss of the family, FioUccello, but the last time we had talked was on my first day, and we had only exchanged brief words.

I remember stepping out of his way, thanking him for accepting me into his headquarters, before he had to walk off to attend some other matters. Today, I was eager to find out more about what he wanted his members to achieve, because right now- the goals I would set for myself were nowhere to be found.

I once passed by the crew announcement board on my second day, just reading up on some of the things that were posted on it, and I was intrigued to find that there was alot of useful information.

But I needed more reasons to continue.

I snapped out of this -rare moment- and hopped into my vehicle, eager to head back to the headquarters and buy myself some time to think about what I wanted to ask Fio. I wanted my time here to be well spent, but I needed clarity about the kinds of things that could be done to help not only the boss, but help the city flourish as well.

I intended to make myself look presentable, but I was surprised to find that he had came back early. My eyes widened at the thought of looking like such a mess in front of him, but what was I thinking? He was family, and family doesn't judge- right?

"Uh, Fio! Boss, I-.. Um, I was just looking for you. I just have a question. Please take this lightly, its not meant to sound harsh or anything but- what do you want me to do exactly? As a new associate of your family, what should I achieve in the lifestyle offered around here? I-i'm sorry.. I just feel lost."
