Truth Started by: Ghost-- on Sep 03, '18 18:30

It was half past midnight and Tibbigs was milling around the empty and unusually windy streets of New York with only one question in mind; "What the hell am I going to do now?" It was a busy time for the family business. His boss, Ghost-- and his true blue hand JoliBebe were chasing something serious. While the high command of the Truth family was busy with sweetening the pot for family business, Tibbigs was assigned by his new boss to find a niche for the bar his new family is going to establish. It had been almost two weeks since his new boss assigned him to his new duty and Tibbigs remembered Ghost--'s words so clearly like almost a verbatim recall; "An old hand like you should be able to get through this. We are counting on you. Don't disappoint me..." Realizing the burden of his new assignment once again, Tibbigs excitedly quickened his steps without noticing and found himself on the South Street. He stared around vacantly and decided to light up a cigarette in order to ease his tension. He reached out to the inside pocket of his coat and pulled out a cigarette and a matchbox. As he was trying to light his cigarette while struggling to keep the flame of the lit match alive, he saw it and in his excitement he almost dropped his cigarette. A ramshackle abandoned warehouse on the South Street Seaport was looking straight at him as if it almost knew that it was the perfect spot for the job."Well, what do you know?" Tibbigs mumbled to himself. Thanks to his connections in NY, Tibbigs managed to find warehouse's owner quickly and bought the land along with the remains of the warehouse. The old man seemed almost happy to get rid of that wreck of a building. Tibbigs looked at the deed smilingly and hopped on an oncoming cab and told the cab driver to go straight to the airport.

A couple of hours later Tibbigs landed in Chicago but before meeting his boss he had one thing to care of. After a quick stop on Seeley Avenue, he came out of a store with a wide, frame-like thing wrapped in brown paper under his left arm and went straight to the family HQ to meet his boss. As he excitedly entered to his new boss's office he said "I got good news, Boss" holding the deed in his one hand. Ghost-- was sitting at his desk as usual, almost fell into a brown study while JoliBebe was on the phone, probably dealing with some family business on behalf of Ghost--. Tibbigs handed the deed to his boss and awaited Ghost--'s response. Ghost-- examined the deed closely and finally spoke; "You bought a dirt cheap, huge warehouse on the South Street Seaport." Tibbigs nodded his head as yes. Ghost-- smiled and leaned backwards and said; "So, what's the part that you're not telling me?" Tibbigs timidly turned his eyes away from his boss and said; "Well, it might need some restoration work." Ghost-- laughed as he looked JoliBebe and then said; "Might need some restoration work?" Tibbigs responded faintheartedly; "Well, it definitely needs some restoration work but its spot is perfect." Ghost-- laughed even harder and spoke; "You know what, we got some business to take care of in NY anyway. Why don't we just take the next flight to NY and check out this "spot" you found?" Knowing the fact that he might have messed up big time, Tibbigs put a good face on and before he can even comprehend, he found himself on another plane to NY with his new boss and his loyal hand.

A couple of hours later, Ghost--, JoliBebe and Tibbigs landed in NY. After a brief walk in the airport, they've reached to a brand new, 4-door 1933 Packard, blue as the night sky. It was impossible not to be impressed, Tibbigs involuntarily mumbled "Wow!" to himself. As he loaded their bags to Packard, Tibbigs thought to himself; "Strange, nobody realized that wide, frame-like thing I put inside the car's trunk. Oh well, they'll find out soon. Maybe they'll even kill me with it, after they see the place." JoliBebe was driving Ghost--'s 1933 Packard on the streets of NY as Tibbigs gave JoliBebe directions. After a short drive, they reached their destination. JoliBebe brought the Packard to a stop in front of the ruined warehouse and they got out of the car. Tibbigs ran and opened the trunk to grab the wide package as Ghost-- and JoliBebe was watching him trying to figure out what he was doing. "What's that?" said JoliBebe glaring at Tibbigs and received the answer of "You'll see soon." Ghost-- walked towards the ruined warehouse with his loyal hand following him and gazed at it angrily and in shock. Tibbigs was trying to open up the brown paper packaging of wide, frame-like thing. When Ghost-- and JoliBebe turned to Tibbigs to hear what explanation he will offer, Tibbigs was smiling and holding a sign that says:

on it. Ghost-- rushed towards Tibbigs and grabbed him from the collar of his coat shook him furiously and said "You expect a businessman with my reputation to run a business in that ramshackle and you expect me to do it with my family's name written on that stupid sign?" In despair, Tibbigs said to his boss; "I know it looks really bad but it stands on a perfect spot, looking right at the Brooklyn Bridge. Give me two weeks, boss. Just two weeks and I'll turn this place into the best bar you can ever see." Ghost-- looked at the wrecked warehouse and then to Tibbigs and said; "You have one!"
