| A new thread? | Started by: Orlin_Lang on Sep 04, '18 02:41 |

The business thread is for business. The streets for meet and greet, robberies, killing ... in other words a participation thread. I love reading other players origin stories, but no place to really jump in. I purpose a, maybe call it, "History" or "My Story" thread. A place where people can post their life stories or one sided stories with all the benefits (credit - exp) as the other two mentioned. Just a suggestion. |

Character history write-ups still get posted in the streets currently, and there are some floating around now like the one's you are suggesting Orlin. I remember there being a similar suggestion like this before, but from that one if I remember correctly it seemed an addition like this might then just give The Streets less activity, and the new thread even less activity than The Streets. And at the time it was about getting more activity in the Streets forum, which from experience is always a better thing to have compared to not having. If you are creative with the writing, you can tell the history of a character as if actually telling it. Maybe on a street corner. Or in a bar. To whomever it is that may be reading. Or you can just assume that's the case, as you read it. As if the story has just spread somehow, like it may have back then, by word of mouth, maybe in a barber shop or a local haunt. I'd be all for a separate thread for such things though if it did happen. But, if it challenges the creativity to make it work with how the game is, that's also not such a bad thing too, and you could create something really cool with that extra push :) |

| Activity in the Street forum is already struggling and I feel setting up another forum (this isn't just a new thread) would water it down even more. It makes more sense logistically and for "curbside appeal" to new players to have non business RP in the main RP forum. | |

Yes, my mistake, that's what I meant, a new forum :) |

I don't think we need a new forum, but I'm not opposed to seeing a Tag option for all Street threads going up. Something along the lines of: You write your thread and go to post it. The title of your thread is, for example, "Zoom's Zits" - so when you go to post it, their could be a little pop-up (or drop-down box) that would allow you to select one of the following; BS(BackStory) GRP(Group-RolePlay) DB(Debate/Conversation) AS(Auth Speech) ^those are all just rough outlines of something we could do, and this was before coffee, so fuck awf if it makes no sense :x
To clarify, this wouldn't change anything in the realm of VIP points, Experience, amount of threads in the Streets, etc etc. It'd be a visual change only, making it much easier to identify threads that you may actually be interested in as opposed to scrolling through 32409132 stories about cheese. |

^ I like it. Although, I also like cheese :/ Seriously, I like the idea to give new threads a topical tag. Covers the suggestion raised in here by the original poster and makes it easier to sort through street threads for those that don't like one thing or another, without the need for any new forums. +3 |
