| Seven Deadly Cities, Seven Deadly Sins | Started by: JackMezzo on Sep 06, '18 20:52 |

Hello all. I'd like to collaborate some thoughts on this. Planning a future event with regards to the boxing ring and I want to toy with the idea of having a city represent a deadly sin each. Be good to get some thoughts from everyone on how they best align, either from the history of the city on MR, the real life history of the city or by some current character traits. Either way, all sins need allocating to a city, we're not poking fun at anyone in particular. I also want to investigate assigning different types of prizes to the different sins, based on their nature. So, for each sin, where would you place each city? Let's get creative and have some fun.

Well I think it goes without saying that Chicago is the most sexy and sexual, and thus we are best suited for 'Lust'. |

Hmmm. This is a tough one. Personally, I'd say: NY: Greed (economic capital, wall street, etc.) Not perfect- and roughly in order of how strongly I feel. |

Art's and Gav's are similar, and cause I'm feeling lazy and also like what they've done I'll just pick one as they have it. Gav's. I just like NY as Greed and LA as Gluttony better this way. |

This is helpful. Any thoughts on specific prizes that could be associated to each Sin/City? I'd generate a prize pot to be used as a general incentive, however I'd like to make an association to the different sins, too. NY: Greed - $5,000,000 I'm also playing with the idea of the format of this bout. Would each fighter face off against each other and points won that way? E.G https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11wtiEBpdbSpJ27ZMWJaT6bCf9ynODLKx247E-wY5jAk/edit?usp=sharing The top four cities will then face off in 2x semi finals and then those two fighters will duke it out for the top spot. Lot of fights, but no reason why it can't be a long term project. |

I like those perk ideas, and think it gives a nice little added bonus for the winners. The format, in a tournament style bracket looks good. Winners advance. Losers lick their wounds and cheer on from the sidelines, maybe even bet a little. Bellator MMA do some great (well, their format is great, sometimes the fights fall apart due to injuries and such) grand prix style weight class tournaments. Check out their homepage, a short scroll down will show how they do it. Something similar sounds like what you might already have in mind. Just an idea, as they are one of the top players in the MMA scene currently. :) |
