Dangerous People Need Protection Started by: Luna on Sep 09, '18 03:50

Luna's shrill voice echoed throughout the halls of her apartment. "Mathias!" She screamed as the tears started pouring down her face, all the while holding onto his dead body. The lifeless figure of her closest friend, work partner, and bodyguard, "Don't leave me! Mathias!" She continued to let the world know of her loud screams as she sunk deeper into the pit of chaos that she was suddenly thrust into. Quite literally, his name 'Mathias' meant a gift of God, and now that he was being taken away from her into the afterlife, she weeped non stop.

Robbed of her own soulmate. Luna fought with the arms that were trying to pull her away from the madness that was occurring. Long hair flew everywhere as it fell from the once elegant updo hairstyle that she had styled herself. Luna's hair bounced upon her shoulders, and even in the daytime - it was silky and luscious.

Her eyes were round and lifeless. The mascarra she had applied on that day were streaming down her face. Her blouse and jeans were splattered in blood; her feet were bare, her hands flying in every direction as she struggled to keep herself from touching Mathias - hoping he'd wake up if she shook him hard enough.

"No! Leave me alone! Matthias!" Non-sense continued to come out of her loud mouth, struggling against the heavy burden of a close friend dying. But it was useless to keep clawing and fighting. Death has finally taken Matthias' soul, and she couldn't do anything about it.

It was hard, but at last she accepted the truth. He was dead. Matthias. Her best friend. Her protector. She looked away as she couldn't bear to see him lying dead on the ground with his mouth hanging open while faint cuts were visible on the side of his face. The last image in her mind before his body was buried under the ground was his sunken eyes staring back at her, ash brown hair coated in his own blood, and the single ray of light gleaming down on him.

You poor thing, Luna said to herself.

That was a few weeks ago.

Luna hadn't come out of her apartment since the dreadful event.

Her nights were piling on top of each other, and she wanted to communicate with no one. Instead of speaking up and approaching one of her friends for help, she mourned to herself in the dark and wished for the angel of death to come take her out of her misery. Her beloved Matthias, now taken into the heavens.

She couldn't even bring herself to go to his funeral, as she knew that she would just break down again at the sight and the thought of him getting buried. Anyways, she thought it would be better this way so that no one would have to keep questioning her about his death. Being the member of a secret society was hard. She didn't have much of a childhood, and only spent most of it with her father as her beloved mother passed away long before Luna could reach her teen years.

When she was twelve, she was exposed to the world of weaponry (guns). When she was sixteen, she learned how to fire one. When she was eighteen, learned how to handle drugs, and now, being at the ripe age of 20 - she was selling drugs by the boatload and continuing her drug trades in various other cities besides Chicago. To 'expand' business, she would say.

But, she had yet to leave behind her former bodyguard who had been killed. Some of the people back at the HQ told her she would need to look for a new one, even against her permission.

Luna didn't want a new one. She wanted Matthias back, and no one would ever be able to replace him - even if they tried. For now, she just wanted to stay in her room and pretend she was unbothered by the outside world. The quietness was interrupted when she heard a faint knock at the door, to which she ignored. But they became persistent and harder, so she got up in a frustrated manner and opened to the door.

"Your new bodyguard has arrived," One of her servants announced with a clear tone, "don't keep him waiting now, Luna." She was seated by the window on a wooden rocking chair, paying no mind to what he was saying, and letting her hair drape over her shoulders. The servant did not falter though, and waited until Luna would be fed up with the waiting and just end up meeting the new bodyguard.

She gave him a side-eye glance, and he looked at her carefully. His eyes showed no patience. After some time, Luna gave in, and rolled her eyes. "Bring him in, I guess. Or her."
