"Here you go", said the man behind the counter. He looked at me with his bright blue eyes and gave me my new light bulbs. "These are the brightest we've got", he said. However there was no sparkle left in his eyes. I wondered, "what could've made his sparkle disappear?" I leaned in on the counter and patted his shoulder. "What's wrong old man?" I asked. He said nothing, and just pointed at the window. 

I walked over to the window, and took a look through. Through the window I saw an empty street, with a lone guy sitting on a bench in the distance. I wondered why the streets are empty and I looked at the clerk. He whispered:"They're here.." I wondered who's here? What could've happened in this quiet town? 

As I was just traveling through I had no idea what kind of town this quiet place is.
