The Story: The Prerequisite Started by: JoliBebe on Sep 20, '18 01:03

JoliBebe rolled over in bed putting her arm out to rest it on His chest, but to her disappointment He was already gone, rolling on her back she stared at the ceiling for a few minutes thinking about last night. She was an early riser but He was an earlier riser. Slowly getting herself up she slipped into a pair of silk shorts and threw a cami on, after brushing out her long brown hair out she then quickly made the bed and left His room.

Heading down the hall listening to the hard wood floors creak beneath her feet she made it to the kitchen. Joli started brewing the coffee and looking through His pantry to make herself something to eat, it was 8:00 am, still early. Why didn't He wake her at the very least and say goodbye? typical, she thought to herself as she spotted a mix for blueberry muffins. Grabbing the mix and finding a big enough bowl and spoon for stirring, she pulled some milk from the fridge and mixed the contents together in the bowl. Joli stopped at the sound of a knock, a knock of determination.

"Who could that be so early?" Joli said aloud as she noticed the coffee had just finished and was ready to be poured to her perfection. Walking down the hall she reached the door, unlocking it she opened the door to see, Her.

Her. JoliBebe smiled at Her, She was someone He trusted, no recognized purpose in. There was a difference and Joli understood but at the same time she didn't always. Opening the door completely she let Her inside with a welcoming smile. Standing a decent bit taller than Joli, She was a firecracker, a wild almost uncontrollable personality, with a tinge of crazy, maybe it was just paranoia. None the less here She was, always around, always a topic of conversation.

"What a pleasant surprise, you know He isn't here, of course you know. I just made coffee and I'm about to bake some muffins." Joli smiled as she closed the door behind Her and they walked to the kitchen. She finished pouring the muffin batter into the baking cups and popped them into the oven, checking the clock on the wall for the time so she could mentally keep up with how long they'd be baking for. She grabbed a couple of coffee cups and poured coffee in them, setting them down on the dining table she then brought over sugar and milk. Joli sat down and began to pour a little bit of milk and stir in the sugar to make her coffee nice and sweet.

She began talking to Joli then...

"You know something is off with Him." She said as she began drinking her coffee black. "He isn't talking to anyone Joli. He doesn't take any personal calls let alone business calls and numerous times he's been a no show at meetings."

"He talks to me." Joli said as she sipped her coffee glancing at the clock again thinking about the muffins.

"It's not enough, people are talking we need to take action."

Joli slow sipped her coffee looking into those deep dark eyes, there was the crazy. She was protective of him, almost possessive. Joli wasn't bothered, she had caught Her numerous times getting too close to Him, with the slight graze of an arm, a hug lasting a minute too long, the fake friendship She had with Joli herself, just to please Him, to have an excuse to be close... to sabotage. Setting her coffee down she looked at Her intently

"What do you expect me to do? Kill off our business partners, because they may be contemplating going over his head? Why would I bite the hand that feeds and protects?" Joli said matter of factly. "It would be a death sentence and would leave me broke, I would only be ensuring His failure in the business."

"I would help.I can do things." She stated finishing off Her coffee before scrunching Her nose. "What's that smell?"

"My fucking muffins. damnit." Joli jumped up and opened the oven and quickly grabbed a near by towel to pull out the pan of muffins, she sat it down on the stove top and frowned at the burnt blueberry muffins. Joli had let herself get carried away with the conversation, played into the paranoia, said things that were clearly obvious but she felt it needed to be stated to give it more depth. Annoyed with herself she rolled her eyes before turning back to Her and smiling as she sat down at the table to finish her coffee.

"The business is fine, I trust the partners He has chosen. If He is away and not taking their calls He has his reasons. trust." Joli said grinning and looking at Her as she was thinking almost planning one would say with the look of intent She wore on her face as she looked at Joli but wasn't actually looking at her.

"You're right, I wasn't serious anyways, that's crazy." She said laughing out loud to ensure it was all for jokes and good fun between best girlfriends.

"So you burnt my muffins for jokes, you owe me, and I'll remember this!" Joli smirked at the young ambitious starstruck female. This one sided emotional love affair she was having with Joli's Him was going to be trouble. It was a game of chess, one that Joli lacked patience for, her temper usually guided her decisions when things were turned personal. She unbeknownst to Joli was laying the ground work to kick off Her own plans for personal gain.

"Well I'm glad you stopped by, it's always a pleasure to see you. I'll let Him know and tell him to call you." Joli hugged Her tightly as they had both gotten out of their seats and said their goodbyes. Joli walked her to the door leading her out.

"Sorry for the muffins." She said smirking as she opened the door and walked out.

"Sure you are!" Joli said getting ready to close the door behind Her when she saw the mail carrier turning to walk up to her house. The mailman smiled as he passed the young lady and then looked to Joli whom was waiting curiously. He handed her a single letter. Frowning, Joli knew the drill for letters. He wasn't coming home tonight. "Why didn't he kiss me goodbye this morning before He left?" she said to herself accepting the letter as she closed His front door locking all three locks. He wasn't coming home and she wasn't leaving.
