What would she do if she got stood up? What if he wasn't what she was hoping for? What was she supposed to converse about with him? These questions ran through Luna's mind as she gave herself a once over in the mirror. She was headed for a romantic date at some fancy restaurant she couldn't pronounce the name of, and the man she was meeting was someone who she had always seen walking past her. She had only approached after five days, as she couldn't resist the temptation of taking him out for dinner. However, despite receiving a genuine, yet shocked response from the man - Luna couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed that she wasn't approached first. Well sure, there was no set way of which gender would approach the other first, but didn't it seem more correct for the man to make a move first? Luna laughed to herself as she walked out of the bathroom, flicking her hair as if she couldn't believe it. He had the balls, didn't he? Her menacing laugh was just one of the things she was doing to get out of her nervous state of mind. Luna even cleaned the house to distract herself from going crazy over the planned date, but still, nothing could shake off the nerves she was dared to face. She was excited, but she also didn't want to get her hopes up about what this guy would offer to her. Upon first meeting him, she remembered the strong smell of his cologne and how his jaw twitched when he started to speak, looking up at her from the newspaper he was holding. His eyes held some sort of deeper meaning, and Luna was eager to find out what was hiding under all his layers of personality. She was half thinking she would get rejected, but also - she was aware that she was at least decent looking. Looks aren't meant to be the first thing to judge when meeting someone, but no doubt you would analyze someone's appearance before speaking to them. Unless Luna was totally shallow and had no idea how to read anyone, but she was confident within herself and wouldn't take no for an answer. She had forgotten to specify what the theme of the night should be, but Luna hoped the man had assumed that formal clothing would suit best for this occasion. Luna wore a red low cut, skin-tight dress paired with a leather jacket she threw on over her shoulders but not actually putting her arms through. Her makeup only consisted of red lipstick, a little foundation, and some mascarra - nothing less, nothing more. She wasn't going to go all out. After all, if he couldn't take her at her worst then he can't have her at her best. Obviously she wasn't going makeup-less, but she didn't pack on so much makeup like other days if she had to go on an event. Her hair was styled in deep curls at the ends of her hair, while the rest of it was effortlessly wavy. Luna thought she looked better with straight hair, but natural hair was the best way to go in her opinion. She was standing in the hallway, unaware that her legs were shaking and her palms were sweating, and she checked the clock that hung on her wall above the entrance of her kitchen area. Nine o' clock. In thirty minutes he would be arriving, and she was hoping he would have sprayed the same cologne - the one she smelt when she first met him on the busy streets. Time passed by quickly it seemed, as she heard a beep from outside followed by steps at her front porch. Luna took in a harsh breath and immediately rushed towards the entrance of her house as her black heels made a loud clacking sound. The sexy little minx she was finally opened the door - and across from her stood the man she was anticipating. She felt like was staring for a good five minutes, as her eyes travelled to his extremely handsome face, then to his broad shoulders that she yearned to hold onto, and finally his hands which were holding onto a bunch of red roses. The black suit he wore was heaven to her eyes, and she quite admired the fact that they were both matching. The red roses were the cherry on top. She reached out for a hug first before saying anything, then going back to her original position and letting her hands fall at her sides. She was ecstatic to see him, and he cracked a wide grin at the affectionate gesture. "Well, someone's happy to see me." Even his words did things to her body. She felt tingles everywhere, even in her damn toes which were probably curling up. Her cheeks flushed as she nodded slowly. "Of course I am. Thank you for picking me up, I guess." She blushed even more and tried to hide her scarlet cheeks with her hair, but he took off one hand from the flowers and used it to hold onto her wrist gently. "Stop, you're gorgeous when you blush like that. Anyways, lets get going shall we?" His mouth moved consistently, and the words smoothly rolled off his tongue. Luna gave up trying to hide her face, and she nodded begrudgingly. "Mhm. Kay. Let me just lock up and lets get going." She replied in agreement, before stepping out of her home and turning around to push the key into the lock. When she finally faced him again, she smiled sheepishly. "Forgive me for being a dumb and forgetful lass, but what was your name again?" |

Ahhhh….The windy city never ceases to amaze Bluegoose. He’s been walking the same path to and from work while on his temporary assignment, transfixed in my own thoughts and never really seeing the world around him. Then the one day he decides to try a change of pace, an angel appears.
Not an angel in the biblical form, but a beautiful sight that burned an imagine in his mind that will replay for the rest of his life. After sitting down to read the paper Bluegoose purchased from the kid on the corner and beginning to read about the latest deaths in the everlasting Chicago mafia world, he hears “Awwwhhhuummm” from a sultry voice. Looking up from the paper, he sees someone that is vaguely familiar. He’s passed her on the street a few times, yet never really looked at her. She has one of those faces that defies age, yet her eyes tell of story of experience and intelligence.
The next few minutes may have changed his life forever. This angel named Luna proceeds to spark his curiosity, stirring something inside that has been dormant for years after a nasty previous relationship. And then to top it off, she asks him to dinner. Giving her address on a piece of scrap paper and telling him to be there at 9:30pm sharp, Bluegoose knows that this is one time he will not be late.
Being caught off guard by Luna’s forward approach and reflecting back, he doesn’t know where they are even going to dinner or what to wear. No matter. Pulling out his freshly ironed black suit and adding in a blood red tie and handkerchief, he just needs to be himself…nothing more, nothing less.
After a shower and shave, then dabbing on the cologne that is Don Tyki_Mikk had given him after his last “assignment”, Bluegoose walks into is temporary living studio and puts on his suit. Staring in the mirror and feeling the butterflies dancing in his stomach, he reminds himself to be calm. Bluegoose says to himself “No use second guessing yourself Gooser, remember she asked YOU out!” This brings about a heartfelt grin as a vision of his angel once again fills his mind.
Knowing that her address takes him to the edge of town, Bluegoose leaves with enough time to make a pitstop on the way. Rounding the corner of a busy street, he sees his destination and pulls into a parking spot, stoping his car. Getting out quickly and walking up to the vendor, he begins to consider his many options and the downfalls associated with making the wrong decision. Could Luna be allergic? Does she have a favorite type? And then what color? Who would think picking out flowers would be so difficult. Then he sees exactly what he wants and purchases the red roses…..Perfect!
Pulling in front of a well maintain home sitting on the edge of the main city, Bluegoose parks his car then takes a deep breath and once again tries to calm his nerves. Grabbing the roses that are lying on the passenger seat and stepping from the car, Bluegoose takes a deep breathe as he looks over the well manicured property, wondering if she’s watching him from a window. Then takes another deep breathe and says quietly “It’s show time Gooser”.
Walking up the stairs that lead to Luna’s porch, Bluegoose notices to one side are two rocking chairs and on the other side is a swing chair, hanging by chains. From either seated position, you could soak in the events of the neighborhood and he envisions an older version of both Luna and himself sipping on lemonade, enjoying a sunset. With a start, Bluegoose pulls himself back to reality, chastising himself for getting way ahead of himself. He can’t help but once again grin.
Opening the door, all he can do is stare at her. If he found her beautiful before, now she was absolutely gorgeous. The red dress is showing every curve, her black high heels bringing her to just the right height, long flowing locks that rest across her shoulders, and just enough makeup to enhance her already flawless complexion.
Luna moves forward and gives a quick hug. The scent of her perfume is in the air and has instantly become one of his favorite smells. As she steps back, he realizes that he’s not the only one with anxiety about this first date as her cheeks have begun to glow with the red tinge.
“Well, someone’s happy to see me” comes out roguishly even before he can second guess himself. This brings on a slightly deeper grin and to his satisfaction, her cheeks take on an even deep color of red.
As they share a few pleasantries, Luna tells him that she just needs to lock up, throwing a leather jacket across her shoulders, and steps out onto the porch, shutting the door. After finishing with the lock, she turns around and says “Forgive me for being a dumb and forgetful lass, but what was your name again?” This brings out a chuckle from Bluegoose as he thinks back and realizes, he never even bothered to introduce himself. So thrown off by her forward proposal, he had completely forgotten something as simple as introducing himself.
Reaching down and taking her hand, he says “Please accept my apology Luna, but I must have completely forgotten my manners. My name is Bluegoose” and bringing her hand up, kisses the backside gently, never taking his eyes off of hers. Again the smell of her perfume is noticed and brings a wave of excitement across him.
Seeing her cheeks continue to be flushed in a scarlet red, he figures he will let her off the hook. Not letting go of her hand, he leads her down the steps, using the navigation of the stairway as an excuse to maintain their touch. Leading her over to the passenger side of the car, he opens the door for her entrance. After sitting down on the seat, he can’t help but notice the slit in the dress runs just high enough up her leg to show a glimpse of her thigh. This brings on a quickening of his pulse once again.
After closing the door, he hurriedly walks to the other side and gets into the car. Then he turns to Luna and says “Well, my Angel, Where are we going to dinner?” |
