The sound of feet shuffling against the floor made Luna jolt from her resting position. She had drifted off into what you call - a nap - but she didn't think she even had time to actually shut her eyelids and be comfortable, because all she could hear on the train journey was faint chatter and zipper sounds of bags being closed and opened. Luna was visiting the city of Philadelphia, and finally after the long hours of whizzing past buildings and tall trees, she finally made it to the home where her good friends, Adonis and Ilaria_Santoro resided in. One of the regrets she had last time she dropped by the pier was not allowing more time to spend with them, but hopefully this time they would be up for a nice cup of coffee and a conversation. She was proud to be here, and grew excited as she leaped out of her seat and hopped of the train on the way to where Adonis' headquarters were located. He recently got authed to be a crew leader in South Philly, and it definitely called for some sort of celebration. Luna had not brought any physical or material gifts as a present, but she hoped her warm presence and congratulatory words would be enough. She was out of the train station now, and found herself on the side of the road. The streets were fairly busy today so she was worried that maybe the traffic would prevent her from seeing her friends sooner. She hoped that wouldn't be the case though. Hopefully the driver was fast on the accelerator, but she wasn't too worried as she assumed they would understand. Luna figured they would be busy as well as they were sorting out documents and such, so maybe seeing them at a later time in the evening would be a more suitable meeting time. However, before Luna headed over to the city's major airport - she decided to stop by the pier and grab some lunch. It was quarter to seven already, and she hadn't had time to prepare herself a sandwich so her stomach immediately let out a grumble when her eyes landed on a hot dog stall. There was nothing better than that on a warm, sunny day, so she approached the stall in a cheerful manner and bothered the man behind the stand with a soft smile playing upon her lips. "Just one hot-dog please, thank you. Can you add ketchup and mustard over that too," the man behind her looked up from his newspaper and quickly stood up from his chair to complete her order, "yup, thanks. Not too much sauce. Alright, great - thank you kind sir!" She reached into her pockets and took out a few bills with a bit of extra, as she didn't mind tipping him for the tasty meal, before handing it over to him. The hot dog seller smiled and waved his hand about in the air as he shook his head. "You are so kind, misses. No need for that, but thank you anyway. Do come again next time you're at the pier!" Luna nodded her head excitedly, and walked away as she took a bite into the bun that practically melted in her mouth with the added taste of the juicy sausage that had been grilled to perfection. She was pleased with her purchase, and went off to find a bench so she could sit and admire the sea that spread across the pier. Finally, Luna was comfortably seated on a wooden park bench on the grass, and her eyes travelled across the waves that were gently swaying under the sun. It wasn't surprising when she had finally finished her savoury treat, and stood up to go find a bathroom so she could wash her hands. She found the nearest one, did what she needed to, before heading out to fetch herself a cab. Apparently the headquarters were based in South Philly, so Luna - being the excited traveller she was, arrived there an hour or so after her little hot dog fest. Midas Air, the new addition to the airport was called - and she could clearly tell that they were already paving their way to success from the overjoyed faces that were spotted hopping off the one of the their newest planes beyond the state of the art hangars. Later she discovered it was called Boeing 247. She walked around, and was careful to ask the right people about where Adonis and Ilaria might be at. She was clueless, looking from left to right when she entered the vicinity - and quietly wishing to herself that she had brought someone along with her so she didn't feel completely alone. Luna had no idea of her way around Philly, but with maybe with some guidance she'd be able to get in touch with her surroundings. She continued to search for them, but just as she turned another corner, their faces were visible and Luna squealed happily. "Adonis! Ilaria! Oh my gosh - so good to see you guys." Luna gushed as she ran towards them, and embraced them both in a hug. "You both look good as ever. Firstly, can I just say what's needed to be said? Congratulations to you both. You will do Philly proud, I'm sure. Nice touches on the construction side of things as well!" She expressed in a genuine manner and made sure to make it known that not only she was here to see them, but also the celebrate the journey they were about to embark on. Luna felt like a happy little girl getting picked up from her father after a very long day of pre-school, and couldn't help but look up to Adonis and Ilaria as if they were her parental guardians. There was nothing better than seeing two of her very special friends being given the positions they were destined for. It really was true - that everything they touch would turn to gold. |

Ilaria turned at the sound of her name being called. As soon as she recognized the face of their friend, her own lit up like a Christmas tree. She happily hugged the woman and kissed her cheeks. "Bella Luna! I'm so happy to see you! Look at you - just as lovely as ever. It means so much that you'd come all this way!" Grinning, she turned to Joe. "We absolutely must give her the grand tour!" |

Joe's arms were outstretched from the time he recognized her voice till moments after Ilaria had given Luna her warm greeting. A big smile accompanied his offering of a hug. She was an old friend, a dear friend. They met when he attended her cousin's funeral. He remembers the day vividly, for many reasons. One, because he realized how shitty he was at paying his respects. Two, because of how the angel of death had brought him into contact with one of his closest comrades outside of Race Street Company. A warm, strong hug was given before he stepped back. With his hands on her shoulders, Joe nodded. "The grand tour it is, then." They'd just got settled. The place was barely accessible to the public. But it was ready. It had been ready awhile now. Just the finishing touches were needed before they'd open the doors and let the Midas fleet have at it. Catering. Private flights. Public, personalized flights. And a service that extended Ilaria's clinic in Philly to the rest of the country. There were only so many people you'd want to see after being shot at, or actually shot. And they weren't always the Doctors you'd find in the regular hospitals. Joe placed an arm over both Luna and Ilaria's shoulders. He turned them around, then edged them forwards with some casual steps, starting their journey discovering more of the complex. Even they were yet to fully understand how it all worked. That was the joy of paying people. You gave them an idea, a vision, some goals and some expectations and they used their ingenuity to make something happen. Just like the creativity of an artist, the building of a dream took a process. And for Midas, they were almost at the end of it. |

Luna was ecstatic to have the hug returned by Ilaria, and her genuine words expressed to her made Luna feel all warm. The kiss on her cheek was just the cherry on top to a friendly, long overdue greeting. She plastered a wide grin on her face and raised her eyebrows when she looked more to her right and was also brought into a hug with Adonis. "A grand tour, you say? I'm down!" Luna was then ushered forward gently to be positioned on one side of Adonis while Ilaria was on the other, and they proceeded to walk across the complex. She was aware that while the construction was not complete, they were very close to getting everything done - and it helped when they had hired people who enabled themselves to have the same vision as Adonis and Ilaria by using their bewildering talents. Curiosity quickly entered her mind while she was thinking about all the great things that Midas Air would have to offer. "I heard.. from a friendly source, that you - Ilaria," she grinned in Ilaria's direction as she tried to catch her attention, "are opening a clinic? Or extending it? That's some great news right there! You know we can't let your medicine background go to waste." Luna's responses were followed by a sequence of giggles, which were horribly childlike. But really - how could anyone not be extremely happy to be here? In her mind, she was imagining so much great projects being in the works, and satisfied faces hopping off their newly built planes. Her eyes lit up as Luna studied the architecture that towered over her. No doubt, it set the bar high for other airports, but this was Philadelphia's major airport after all so of course they probably had to go all out. "Have you guys ever thought about like opening up some eating facilities here? I know other airports I've been to have those. And hey - I'm not saying to follow the crowd, but it would be a great addition! Speaking of food, I'm kind of hungry now." Luna chirped as her bubbly demeanour became more obvious to them. Her way of speaking and behaviour towards people she didn't know were definitely different, and she was in her happy place in their presence. It was almost like an escape from reality for her, to finally be able to just spend some time with the people she truly cared for. Her infectious smile was of like a little girl who saw chocolate cake for the first time, and you better believe it. Her eyes were on the prize! |
