Lemon Cake and Herbal Tea Started by: Luna on Sep 27, '18 08:23

Luna sat back on the comfy red sofa, enjoying the amazing beach view through the small, arched window she was sitting beside. She released a sigh from her pink, plump lips before raising her right hand to rub her temples. She was seated in a cozy cafe, not doing anything in particular as she had lost interest in the book she was reading, which was just resting on her lap. She had reached a specific passage in the book, and mind you, already deep into the novel - but felt that it was just dragging and so the story didn't seem like it was moving at the pace she wanted.

Nonetheless, she was enjoying her time in the cafe 'Summer Bliss', and just as the name is, the cafe brings a refreshing summer vibe. Her outfit even matched her surroundings. The floral print of her dress was blending in with the flower boxes on the front porch railings of the restaurant. The white gates that guarded the grassy lawn outside were open for all and anyone to walk through, and additionally a concrete walkway that led to the steps at the bottom of the porch. Luna always came here after work in the afternoons, but the serene view of the sea outside was best to look at during the night time, as the moonlight would bounce off the waves beautifully.

A willow oak tree was planted next to the concrete path at the front, which had already matured to an amazing height - and the branches swayed swiftly in the wind. If she were to tell someone what she loved about this place - she would only be scratching the surface because there was more to this place than she had thought. Long story, but if only there was someone sitting across from her, she would spill all her secrets about how she met.. her first love. It didn't work out, obviously.

If it did, she'd be with him right now and probably bonding over a cup of herbal tea and a scrumptious plate of lemon cake.

Sadly, that wasn't the case. She looked out at the sea again and stretched her neck a little to relieve herself of the tension that had built up over sitting on the couch for twenty minutes now. There was no one she was meeting up with today, but a tiny hope surged through her brain that maybe some stranger or an old friend would show up and ask her how she was holding up.

She was quiet, and would often shy away from social interactions - but she was going through a new change of mindset that true happiness can only be found by seeking solace in friends and family.

She leaned forward in her chair and set the book down finally on the table so she could actually sit down comfortably without having to hold onto something, before resting her arm on the sofa with her chin in the palm of her hand. From her open window, she was enjoying the cool breeze that was coming in through the cafe while enjoying the sun rays that were shining on her pale skin.

She needed the tan anyway.

Her skin was warm as she had been sitting under the sun for a while, but she often hated herself for getting goosebumps for no reason sometimes - so she didn't mind. Even in the summer time, she would get goosebumps along her neck, and someone even once told her it was a cute thing, but she would shake her head and giggle "no". As she turned her attention from the waves that rippled and shined under the daylight, Luna took in her lovely surroundings and noticed that there weren't much customers today.

That was a good thing. She could always appreciate a quiet, and chill atmosphere.

The long, pastel pink, floral print dress she was wearing today fit her frame perfectly. She was terribly short, at 5 ft - so she was shorter than most, but she didn't mind it. Luna had stopped growing when she reached eighteen years old, and now that she was twenty - she was still able to play a good game of hide and seek with her little cousins. Her outfit was perfectly coordinated with matching baby pink flats, and her hair was styled in a wavy ponytail as she didn't feel like putting her jet black locks down today. It was manageable most days, but today was simply just a bad hair day. A white ribbon was tied around the top of her ponytail.

Some would label her as the stereotypical girly girl, but her personality could turn very dark depending on the situation. Her bony fingertips traced the silver heart necklace that was attached around her neck, a piece of jewellery that was passed down to her by her father - and was a gentle reminder of her parents even though she never really spent time with them seeing as they had died when she was very young.

She was extremely grateful for the people she held dear to her heart now, and she could spend her time listing all the friends she kept - but it wasn't set in stone yet. Luna was hoping to expand her friend group and maybe even find her second love?

After all, it's not the end of the world after one breakup. It's merely just a lesson to be learnt, and that maybe the next time she finds romance it would be better. Everything happens for a reason, don't it? Luna was so sappy and sentimental about these things, but she was undeniably a hopeless romantic.

She was deep into her thoughts when suddenly someone very familiar walks through the cafe doors.
