Broken Silence Started by: CharlieCroker on Oct 31, '10 17:23

On an extremely cold winter morning the doors of the Liberazione HQ swing open and with them a wall of cigar smoke bellows out into the street. A figure emerges from the smoke quickly followed by two large bodyguards.

Good morning, I know that I have previously been referred to as 'Maguas silent partner' and to a certain extent I was. I will admit I kept a low profile while working as a captain in Los Angeles but that was partly due to Magua himself. I feel that since Maguas moment of madness and his subsequent demise I need to break my alleged silence. After I was informed of Maguas death I was approached by Godfather TheDean and offered the chance to take the reigns in Los Angeles to which I duly accepted. Over the past weeks ive been tying up loose ends and getting LA back on track. Now I have a break in business and I thought it would be a good idea to offer up an opportunity for you to find out more about myself, my family and anything else you would want to know.

Pausing, Charlie reaches into his suit pocket and takes out a fresh cigar and cutter. He cuts it and quickly places it in his mouth. Suddenly one of the bodyguards steps forward and in one solid motion takes out a lighter and lights Charlies cigar

Where was I? Oh yes! Being a supposed 'silent partner' meant that I withheld almost everything about myself and my ambitions. I would like to take this time to invite you to ask me anything you wish to know. I will try and answer all questions with complete honesty. So fire away...

Charlie lifts his cigar to his mouth and inhales in anticipation

SINGERROURKE had his paper ready with a pen. Waving his hand in the air frantically he thought he would try and get the first question.

CHARLIE, CHARLIE, MR. CROCKER OVER HERE MR CROCKER!

Finally Charlie Crocker noticed the excited reporter. When he called on SINGERROURKE to speak SINGERROURKE wanted to ask a great question but his mind drew blank. Then he spoke.

Charlie, i mean mr. Crocker what is your first order of business down in the great city of LA?

I have a question my friend.

Do you plan on getting to Don anytime soon?

Charlie exhales then nods towards SINGERROURKE

Good question. My first order of business it to sort out the wayward business sector of Los Angeles. It would seem standards have slipped and need urgent attention. Apart from that I am further establishing myself in order to strengthen my families position.

Often newly authed leaders, come out and tell us we will see new and exciting changes within the city. You have been setup for some time now, do you have some interesting and original ideas to make the city prosper rather than the usual districts bars and casino? If so may you give us an insight into them.

Also is Cherokee male or female?

Sammy emerges out into the street, and makes himself noticed

"I would firstly like to congratulate you on becoming the new Acting Godfather of Los Angeles. I look forward to what you do with the city and I have no doubt you will make it a great city to visit."

Sammy smiles and nods to CharlieCroker

"My question is fairly simple. Are you more business, or pleasure? Or is there a significant place within you for both?"

Sammy steps back while waiting for his answer. He takes a cigar out of the inner pocket of his overcoat, lighting it with the lighter he had taken out of his trouser pocket, as he did so, you can see the letters 'S.G' engraved on the side of it.

Firstly Charlies attention is caught by Grim_Reefer.

I am working as hard as my body will physically allow me. Soon though.

Suddenly Charlie is then drawn to Barnie.

I do not wish to come out here and promise anything that is, for the moment at least, out of reach. I inherited a broken city. Many men lost their lives here as a result of Maguas moment of madness so picking up the pieces have been a lengthy process. I have begun cleaning the business district in order to open it up to new ventures outside of the usual bars and casinos as you pointed out. I plan to help clean up the streets too so people can visit LA without worrying about losing their hard earned cash to shady figures in dark alley ways. All in all I want to make Los Angeles a pleasant place to be.

Charlie then begins to laugh.

As for Cherokees gender, I am totally unsure. He/She is a figure steeped in mystery I dare not to venture in to.

Whilst taking a large drag of his cigar, Charlie turns to Sammy.

Thats a tough one. I like to think that I a happy medium. I can comfortably switch between the two when its suitable to do so. In our line of work in order to be successful you need to be competent in business and the ways in which you handle it but if I was to say I didn't like to cut loose id be a liar. If you visit our family bar on any day that end in a 'y' you would see that pleasure plays a big part in my usual daily routine.

is it true that there are no karaoke bars in LA anymore?
