Eddie got himself up and dressed. Today was to be a big day for him and he didn’t want any fuck ups. He had to make sure that everything went smoothly or the task at hand would fail. 

Leaving the apartment, Eddie throws on his jacket and locks the door. He wasn’t going to drive today, the weather seemed too damn good for that. Instead he decided to walk, as he wasn’t going far from his apartment anyway. He continues walking down the street until he came across the nearby flower shop. 

He goes inside and purchased a big bunch of flowers, some real nice ones. He exits the shop and continues walking down the street. That’s when he went inside of the diner and took a seat in one of the window booths. He always sat at a window booth so he could see who was about to enter the diner. Getting clipped wasn’t ever on his agenda. 

The passing by waitress who had been flirting with Eddie every time he came inside had just come to take his order. Eddie hands her the flowers and flashes her a flirty smile. 

“These are for you. I hope you’ll join me tonight for dinner?”

She smiles and nods, and dashed off to put them in some water. A few hours later and Eddie goes to her apartment to pick her up for dinner. Naturally he goes inside and fucks her for an hour first. 

They leave her apartment and step into the cold night air. Good job he remembered to bring his jacket. He takes it off and throws it around her. What a beautiful scene. 

Next thing Eddie could hear a gun firing off in his direction. Someone had attempted a hit on his life. He gives off chase but couldn’t find the guy who did it. Going back to where the waitress was, he saw her lying on the ground, dying in a pool of her own blood. Eddie drops to his knees, and holds her head in his lap. 

She was about to die and it was all Eddies fault. It was a curse. He leans forward and whispers into her ear, one last time. 

“I’m sorry, Jennifer....”
