Gavin smirked as he leaned back in the car, Bella leaning against him. "You know... next time we haven't seen each other in a while... maybe we should rent a limo when we go out." Wearing almost nothing, Gavin walked around to the driver's seat and started driving them back, stealing glances of Bella lounging provocatively in the back. "I'll return this tomorrow. I almost hope I get pulled over..." Fortunately or unfortunately for Gavin, the ride back to the Lofts was uneventful. They managed to get themselves in decent enough shape to sneak upstairs, but Gavin shed his clothes immediately as he walked towards the shower. |

Isabella giggled at the thought of Adams finding the stolen cab outside their apartment tomorrow. Likely Gavin would have it back before the man was on duty, but it would have been amusing to try to explain to him why it had been stolen. Watching Gavin strip and make for the shower she followed suit. She slid in behind him even as he was washing in that practical and quick way he so often did. She kissed the wet scars on his back before beginning to wash with a threadbare cloth. He was done long before her, but he stayed there with her - helping her wash. She'd expected things to kick back up between them again, but this time, she found her lust abating and instead there was a simple tenderness to Gavin's presence and Isabella wasn't sure that she didn't like it as much (and perhaps more in some ways) than the ravaging he'd unleashed upon her in the car. When they got out of the shower he wrapped a towel about his waist and then wrapped one around her. She looked at him and felt as though she wanted to say something profound, something that would sum up everything she was feeling - but just as the other day in Port Huron, the words didn't come easily. This time, they didn't come at all. Instead, she lay her head on his chest, feeling his warmth through the wet and for a long moment she simply hugged him. In her towel alone, she went out and put on a kettle for tea. Gavin flipped on the radio, not blasting this time, just quiet... and the large open space felt smaller somehow. She watched him moving about with a smile on her face. This, she realized, was her forever. Despite all the false starts in life, she was finally here and it truly felt like it had been worth the wait. |
