Race Street Boxing Main Event: Salvatore vs. Spaceman Started by: Isabella-Luciano on Oct 15, '18 15:35

Isabella is dressed in a short black cocktail dress, her hair up showing off her wolf tattoo on her back.  She comes to the center of the ring with a microphone in hand but away from her mouth so she can speak quietly and privately to the fighters first.  She waves them forward and gives both a respectful nod and the barest hint of a smile.  "Okay gentlemen, this fight will last five rounds or until I rule one of you is down by virtue of knock out.  You know the rules.  If at any time I ask you to return to your corners, I expect you to do that.  Otherwise, you're in the box for the duration."

She maintained an air of professionalism despite how much both men meant to her.  As both men nodded their assent to her rules she continued,  "Good... let's give the nice people what they've paid for.  To your corners gentlemen."

Looking out to the crowd as both men back away, Isabella speaks to the assembled audience.  "Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Isabella Luciano, tonight The Race Street Company in associate with The Lucania Family of the Windy City: fabulous Chicago, Illinois is proud to present our Main Event!  Tonight, you are going to witness five rounds of boxing, the most anticipated match in history to date! Are you ready?"

Isabella waited for the rowdy crowd to quiet themselves.

"In the red corner, wearing the black trunks is a man who needs little introduction. Making his Race Street Fighting debut is the Merciless Man from Mo'Town, The Eight-Mile Executioner, The Godfather Chairman of Detroit... Saaaallllllvatore Luuuuuciano!"

The residents of Detroit were definitely in the house tonight!  She was nearly knocked down by their cheers.  She assumed a fair amount of the screaming also came from the people of Chicago who were close with Salvatore due to his wife being the Godmother of Chicago.

"In the black corner, wearing green trunks is a man of equal notoriety.  Also making his Race Street Fighting debut is the True Doc of Shock, the Atlantic Assassin, The Godfather Chairman of Philadelphia... Spaaaaaaceman!"

Not to be outdone at a fight run by their own, the people of Philidelphia let up a grand noise that nearly shook the roof itself in support of their Godfather.  This fight was SURE to be one remembered for some time to come.

Isabella stepped back so that the bell could ring and the first round of fighting could begin.

Sal walked up to the ring with a serious look in his eyes. It had been a long time since he had a proper fight. It brought back memories when he used to run as an enforcer in LA all those years back, Another lifetime it seems now.

Shaking the thoughts from his head he focused on the fight to come. It was time for him to show why he was both feared and respected. He was going to go into this full bore and not back down.

While outside the ring Spaceman maybe his friend and alley... In the ring was another story.

Spaceman stepped into the ring, adjusting his neck and getting the feel of his boxing gloves.  It had been an age and a half since his last melee bout - and his opponent opposite him was no slouch in business - or the ring, apparently.

He nodded at Salvatore and took a deep breath.  A savage beating - regardless of who was doling it out - was a certainty.

Report Post Tip

Salvatore and Spaceman entered the match as different as any two men could.  Where Salvatore came in all fire and fury, Spaceman paid equal mind to both his offense and defensive strategies.

Salvatore's brute force bullied past Spaceman's defenses causing no small amount of damage.  Not to be outdone, Spaceman's strategy combined with Salvatore's absolute lack of defense paid off for the Philly Godfather.  Both godfathers took as good as they gave in round one leaving the audience with no clear view of who was the superior boxer just yet.

As the bell rung and the two men returned to their corners, the crowd eagerly anticipated round two.

Report Post Tip

Sal sat in his corner and smirked this was a fight and he was glad to be in it. Defense in a fight was only good if you could stop the blows. Vicious full strength blows tended to protect you, that is why Sal kept up his onslaught with no plans on slowing down.

Report Post Tip

Spaceman shrugged the blows off as he shook his head in the corner.  Perhaps it was the Round 1 adrenaline - but he had the feeling that he's had drugs hit harder than this.  Staring at the light of the arena momentarily, the Philadelphia Godfather cracked his neck from side to side and made his way towards the ring for round 2.

Report Post Tip

Once again the men came out of their corners with seemingly equal enthusiasm, but differing tactics.  Spaceman danced about throwing fists up to block Salvatore relentless onslaught and then brutally took advantage of Salvatore's continued 'nearly zero defense' strategy.

Both men, Salvatore by virtue of constant flurry of fists & Spaceman by waiting for the right moment, were able to put their fists onto the other man.  Neither kept a solid defense and as a result by the end of round two both men looked worse for the wear.  It was nearly impossible to tell which man was worn out by the exertion.  It was as if both Godfathers had come to the fight having studied their opponent well, knowing how best to match him.

Truly this was proving to be a match of Titans.

Sal sat in his corner smiling across to his opponent. He needed this fight it had been too long since he had a proper fight and it felt good to have a proper opponent.

He sat there ignoring the sting from a few of the shots that he had taken. Some would say to throw up some defense, but that was not Sals style. He would keep taking it to his opponent and wearing the other Godfather down. That is how he wins fights.

Report Post Tip

Spaceman sunk back into the corner as his head seared in pain - drugs would definitely be on the menu after this bout finished.  He looked back at Salvatore, admiring the cuts he managed to land in round two.  With a nod and a swig of water from his trainer, Spaceman brought himself back up and headed back to the center of the ring.

Report Post Tip

Round three began with both men moving about the ring, guards up.

Salvatore's usual onslaught was withheld as he blocked attempt after attempt by Spaceman to land blows which previously would have gone undefended.  Successfully holding off the Godfather of Philly, Salvatore attempted to more strategically find a hole in Spaceman's defenses.  However, without his unrelenting flurry of fists, the Godfather of Detroit found to satisfaction for all his efforts.

Both men spent the round trying and failing to find a way past one another's defenses, again matching one another almost blow for blow.  A more even bought in the history of Race Street Boxing had never existed before!

As the bell run and both fighters went back to their corners even the most seasoned of boxing fans would be hard-pressed to determine if one or the other had somehow gained any real ground in this fight with both Godfather's looking weary and trying to figure out a strategy that would give them the winning edge in the final rounds.

Report Post Tip
Sal sat down drank some water and never took his eyes off his opponent. Time to do some real damage to the man.
Report Post Tip

Water from Spaceman's trainer was sprayed over the Godfather, blood mixing with it and trickling down from the cuts he had taken.  One of the better beatings he's taken.  Spaceman shook his head and pulled himself back up with the ropes.  It was time to end this.

Report Post Tip

Spaceman blazes out of his corner and begins to throw everything but the kitchen sink at Salvatore.  Salvatore, having spent so much energy in the first rounds throws up a nearly impenetrable defense in response to Spaceman's reign of terror.

Spaceman slowly backs Sal to the ropes.  The crowd is on its feet screaming for Detroit's Godfather to do something or this fight might well be over!  Dipping low and coming in for the single punch he'd attempt to land in this round, Salvatore tries for a massive uppercut to the Godfather of Philly's jawline, but he's over-estimated the opening left by Spaceman.  Salvatore has extended his reach too much and Spaceman has his chance to put his stamp on this fight; a chance to let the audience know there is one person walking away from this ring a winner and he DAMN WELL intends for it to be him.

Spaceman gives an earth-shattering left hook to Salvatore's temple.  A cut opens wide under his eye.  Blood splatters across his face and the mat.  Collectively the room holds their breath expecting Salvatore might go down.  At the side of the ring, Isabella stares unblinking, muscles tight as if she's prepared to run in and give the count, but Salvatore's  not done yet.

The Godfather of Detroit has fought blind before and so instead of falling away, he pushes through vertigo and the pain and holds up his block not letting Spaceman take another inch of ground in this five-round fight that has somehow turned into an all-out war.  As the bell rings to end round four, Spaceman returns to his corner a little bit more worn out than before the round began.  Meanwhile, Salvatore whether through successful guile or true grit pulls himself up as tall as he can to walk back to his corner cockily, ignoring the blood still flowing from the cut just under his eye.

Report Post Tip

Salvatore sits in his corner while is cut man address his eye. The ref walks over to look at but the godfather stares him down and tells him to go fuck himself if he thinks that little cut will stop this fight.

His cutman tells him he that it is closed but may not stay that way if he takes another hit there. Sal shrugged him off. "Then I bleed a little so fucking what," he says before taking a drink.

Sal nods to spaceman before standing up and walking back into the ring showing no signs of being hurt.

Report Post Tip

Spaceman shook his wrist and stretched out his left arm, trying to overcome the feeling of numbness mixed with pain as he took a swig of water.  With the end nigh, he brought himself up one last time to put an end to this match - briefly pondering the ribeye that would likely be attached to his black eye later in the evening - after what seemed like nearly a week of fighting.

"Let's finish this!"

Report Post Tip

The bell was the peel of thunder, the muddle of voices screaming in the crowd a torrent of rain, and both men crashed upon one another's flesh - like lightning splitting open the black morass of night.  Both men put up their defenses but their primary focus was upon inflicting as much damage as they could bring themselves to dish out in this the final round of the match.

Salvatore's fists landed body blow after body blow, there seemed to be nothing that Spaceman could do to keep Salvatore's hands off of him.  The sheer amount of power Salvatore had reserved for this final round and threw into his blows was nothing short of herculean.

Whereas Salvatore had managed to make good work of Spaceman's body, his face remained guarded... and his eyes focused on the one hole in Salvatore's defenses he'd managed to tear.  Spaceman knew damn-well he had to keep Sal away from his head for fear of a lucky knock out shot and press hard upon the advantage he'd gotten in round four.  So, while his attacks weren't quite as frequent as Salvatore's, they were just as devastating when they connected.

The crowd had watched three rounds as two legends of the Mafia stood toe to toe, neither gaining an advantage over the other, only to be given one HELL of a show in round four and five.  The fight seemed as though it might go on forever and when the bell rang one final time both men went back to their corners on their own strength.  For all the sweat and blood left on the mat, it would come down to a measured calculation of the fighter's prowess to determine the clear winner in the fight.

Isabella and Jack Mezzo briefly met at the side of the ring, discussed something quietly only a moment before both nodded seemingly to be in agreement on the outcome of the fight.  Isabella went to the center of the ring, called both men forward and took each of their hands in one of her own.  Stoicly Isabella looked out on the crowd and in one definitive motion raised the arm of her Godfather, Spaceman, to thunderous cheers and applause.
