How Do You Keep Busy? Started by: Luna on Oct 09, '18 11:36

“You look bored.”

Luna raised one eyebrow as she questioned the person sitting beside her.

“I am bored.” Their face was stoic as they replied in a monotonous manner.

“Cant you possibly do something about that? Create a business partnership perhaps? I can escort you to Tara’s office down at The Pier. Or perhaps shave the hairs off your ball sack and use what you’ve gathered as a wig for your big bald head? If you still aren’t happy – go have sexual relations with your auntie or something for all I care.”

Luna scoffs as the smirk on her face from earlier dropped suddenly. She was left totally flabbergasted by this person’s unwillingness to cure their boredom. She suddenly had another one of those urges to stand up on a soapbox and speak up. There was no soapbox to seen, but she was sitting on a bench – so she got off her lazy butt and stood on top of it, careful not to fall.

She suddenly gulped down her nervousness when a tiny crowd began to gather around her. However a voice inside her was telling her that there was no turning back.

I know, I know. It's me again...

You must be sick of me! I'm sick of me too. Too many times I've been considering leaving this world behind and changing my identity, but yes, sadly, I am back for another talk because frankly my passion to keep the fire burning is stronger than my urges to give up.

If this isn't your first time listening to me, you will probably notice that my naivety is shown clearly through my words and lack of experience in this thing of ours.

If this is your first time listening to me, please ABORT MISSION.

Kidding. Hear me out though. Who knows, maybe this can leave you with some opinions of your own.

Since my last speech out here on the streets, I had another private discussion with someone where they told me that I was being naive for wanting to maintain peace.

Honestly I couldn't bring myself to respond anything. They were right, after all. Eventually someone is going to go commando.

Apparently when things are stable, like now, where there are no killings or dramas, some of the masses tend to get caught up in their own frustration or boredom for lack of violent action being taken. But in the end where does that really get you? Straight to the graveyard of course. In my opinion, those kind of people wanting disruption lack discipline.

Having said that, I ask anyone - what do you do to keep busy? I really am grateful for the people that still to this day encourage the members around them to keep the fire burning. What intrigues you so much about the current state of things that still keeps you going despite vocal objections to peace?

Ciao, Luna. Pleasure to see you out here as usual.

I don't think I need to bore everyone with my to do list, safe to say personal achievement in how many drugs I can sling and energizing the people around me appear on there.

I did however want to point out that "Going Commando" might not be the best phrase to use.

Checks his underwear.

The last time Adonis stepped into a discussion he was a little heated. He would've liked to cram a pool stick right where it belonged, but the guy ended up in the obits anyways. Such were the lives of people who had little respect for others. There were others though that started discussions and came at them differently. With some thought to it, and a balanced approach.

He was suppose to visit another discussion Luna was organizing. But, things got away from him. The handful of whisky's didn't, as he'd passed out from one making sure they didn't escape his appetite. Now, refreshed and inspired, Adonis found his way into the space Luna had setup for the discussion. He brought with him a packet of biscuits. They didn't have a name on them, but some said they were to die for. A gunshot rang out in the background which caused Adonis to protect the packet as his eyes darted around the area. Once it was safe, he handed the edibles forward.

"For you. I apologize for missing the last one. This, is a bribe. But it's a tasty bribe."

Once she'd taken the gift slash sorry I was too drunk bribe, he got on with the topic at hand.

"What I like to do to keep myself busy is pretty simple. It's in the phrase Constant and Never ending Improvement. I like to get better at everything and anything I can. The life is vast. This life, is vast. There's so much to do on the daily, that I like to try and improve in all areas. But, not all of it inspires me."

"What gets me really going firstly is being a part of something greater than myself. I like helping others to develop their own legacy, in whatever way that comes out. Secondly, I like the stories that come through the streets. Hearing the vivid retelling of what one of us has been up to excites me, and also hearing them about me too I gotta say it gets me going. I like adding myself to the landscape in that way. Hearing others being creative with what's spun and being about to do that too, there's nothing better."

"So I like to get involved in making others better and also the story telling process. I'm a simple guy."

Luna grins as she sees two of the best men in Philly approach her.

It is a pleasure to see you out here as well signore Mezzo! Well rest assured, your energy is definitely spreading beyon the pier. It's great that not only you are keeping yourself busy through the exchange of narcotics in this world, but also through the best needs of the people around you.

You know what they say, without open communication - what else can we depend on to continue in this world?

Her grin is made wider when she receives a special gift from her boss. Adonis, who never failed to enlighten her and always had something up his sleeve.

No need to apologize - these biscuits definitely make up for it! She replied in a mischievous manner.

I really admire that simple phrase. Constant and never ending improvement. We should always try to learn something everyday and improve so we can better how we work in these shores.

Also - can I just say - I love that you acknowledge others potential and really help them to embrace their legacy. For any crew leader, that should be a given - but in all my time of work - I have never felt more inspired and satisfied that I'm getting moral support AND feedback from my own boss.

Thank you Jack Mezzo and Adonis for taking the time to have a chat with me.
