The Curious Case of Bruno Tomicelli Started by: Artie_Bucco on Oct 20, '18 18:58

The gates of the Auburn Correctional Facilty slid open and a shabby man shuffled out carrying a battered suitcase. Two shadowy men greeted him with an embrace and led him to a red Chevrolet Coupe and drove him away. The following day’s Newark Star Ledge led with the headline:

Newark Gangster Bruno Tomicelli Released

Notorious gangster Bruno Tomicelli has been released from Auburn Correctional Facility in upstate New York. Tomicelli was sentenced for 12 years for the brutal beating of seven teenagers. He had avoided full terms for the sentences due to the extenuating circumstances in the case where all seven had taunted Tomicelli for hours prior to the offence.  Tomicelli, known locally as B.T. was a member of the Newark crime family known as the Famiglia Di Patate.

Those that new the full story were less convinced that Tomicelli should have been sentenced at all.

Bruno Tomicelli has been born and raised in Newark and had fallen in with a crowd of friends all trying to impress the Patata don, Don Marie Piper the only female don in the Garden State area. He had started stealing cars at the age of 13 but it was when he turned to more serious breaking and entering that at 15 his problems started.

On one occasion he had been eating at the local restaurant Vesuvio, run by Michele Bucco, father of Seattle crime boss Artie Bucco. The following morning he had broken into the home of Edith Catz, the aged owner of the National Feline Saviour Society however that morning he felt the after effects of some particularly dodgy mussels. In other words he had serious gastrointestinal issues ten minutes after breaking in and was found by Ms Catz and her personal assistant in her lavatory with soiled underwear and trousers. When his school friends, including Artie Bucco heard, he was taunted mercilessly. All of a sudden B.T. stood for Brown Trousers and like the contents of the trousers, it stuck.

On the night in question, Artie Bucco has been seen to goad Tomicelli and encourage a group of youths to do likewise. After two hours of merciless taunting, Tomicelli took a sock off his feet, filled it with rocks and set about beating all seven while Bucco laughed.

After 12 long years, Tomicelli was out for revenge and vowed to hunt and beat known associates of Bucco.

Bruno sat in his Seattle hideout, gleefully listening to the reports of the assault carried out on one of Artie_Bucco’s men.

….and then we said you were after him and his associates…

Yeah we beat him good boss.

The hideout was located in the alleyway opposite Vesuvios and gave him access to look down on his movements in and out.  There were far too many people milling about Artie for Bruno or his guys to get revenge directly on him but he would pick out that baldy bonce anywhere.  Artie’s associates…they were easier.  Well most of his associates.

They had picked out Eddie, the trainer that was helping Artie in his fights, but that guy had put Lurch in the hospital for a week.  He turned to Lurch;

Get the goons Lurch.  We’z going-a-hunting.  Trying to catch ourselves a little piggy or two.

Bruno had no idea why he turned into a hillbilly when he started planning a crime.  It was the only defence mechanism now to avoid the unfortunate alternative that had earned him that nickname all those years ago.

He stared over at the restaurant again…

Tick tock Bucco.  Revenge will be mine.

They walked up the stairs to the roof, the covering on the roof crunched beneath their feet.  They looked over, sure enough there was Bucco.  Acting all genial and friendly.

Bruno knew different…
