Ancestors paving paths… Started by: KingJulian on Nov 11, '10 20:46

Ladies, gentlemen and everything in between..

Im here to speak with everyone about something that probably has sparked at one time or another, but for any of you that know me I like to go about hearing both sides of the story.

So nonetheless here is what’s been on mind my mind….

Most folks around here have a story to tell, a story of their history and ancestors that walked these cities before them hell some of our family lines go way back to the old country, so why wouldn’t people want to share there stories and past experiences.

Having this sort of history in a family line should deem you some what competent and more then likely means you have been taught things from your great grand fathers and such which makes you and excellent candidate for whichever family you wish to join right from the get go, but does this necessarily mean a certain individual will exercise there experience for the better?

People are always saying its who you know and though I would agree to some extent I would like to think it doesn’t matter who you are, or what you ancestors have accomplished a new beginning is just that. I would like to think it all comes down to the person and still relays on their work ethic and loyalty to move up the ladder, after all in the end this is what it takes to climb such a ladder doesn’t it?

On the flip side though we have new people landing in these cities on a daily basis who are just starting their story, that are learning the ways of this life hands for the first time. So now the gray area with these people is you have no idea what they are capable of, nor do we know what path they will decide to walk on. Guess what im trying to say is, is there really much of a difference in taking on a fresh member to one who say might have that experience?

All I can think of is you might have to lend a hand to the guy whose taking on the fresh start, but this necessarily in my mind is not a bad thing at all given the help is there this builds a special kind of relationship or a bond that some people only find with there first ancestor that walked these streets.

Just something I have been thinking about here and hope to get a few others opinions.

Thanks for your time.

KingJulian steps aside to hear out some other opinions.

It's true, Mr. Julian, that this has been a topic of dicsussion before (probably many times) but it's always nice to have a reminder.

The conclusion, I think, that is typically reached is this:  Though a family history can certainly be a good indicator of the personality or tendencies of a mafioso, 1) It does not necessarily predict how they will behave, and 2) Their family's history alone does not entitle them to special treatment.

Though we commonly see young gangsters being given positions of authority due to their ancestor's achievements, it is not a given.  Though family history can demonstrate a tendency of behavior, committment, and reliability, each man or woman is responsible for proving themselves, regardless of what their fathers or mother have achieved.

Over hears "Ladies, gentlemen and everything in between.."

"In between guess that's me!"

Dick limps his way to the crowd and hardens up giving KingJulian his divided attention. After all he is King.

"Dear KingJulian,

First I would like to thank you for bringing this thought to light. It is something fresh to discuss and it's enlightening to see.

With that being said, I would like to share with you my opinion on the matter. Yes, in the mafia world who you know can play a part in how easier life can be for you, but don't think for a second that a little hard work can't change the minds of others when it comes to your ancestors.

Take myself for example, my ancestors have a rocky past. Some have made some borderline decisions, from Hqing 40 of an elite families members the night right hands were given the rights to do so, from being a hit squad leader shooting his own boss to attempt to save fellow family members from extinction, to getting mad and making stupid mistakes. My bloodline also has plenty of respected mobsters as well. Could Mafioso's, or do Mafioso's judge myself for my ancestors actions? Hell yeah they could, and I'm sure they do. You almost have too, a part of being a good leader after all is knowing his Family. As wrong as it is to attach a stereotype based off some other individuals actions, it's almost unwise not too given the circumstances. However, that does not mean you cannot prove yourself for who you are, not who your ancestors were. I'm living proof."

I am a big fan of knowing the past of my members, not because I'm nosey or plan to give them special treatment, but because they are a lot easier to trust depending on who their parent was.
For example, my LHM, Filth, his father was a very respect man and crew leader, although I didn't know his father all that well, I have gotten to know Filth quite well and he earn't his spot as LH despite who his father was.

It's fair to say that those who have a long history in this world do normally get it easy, but I suppose that all depends on the leader and how well they know that bloodline. I give no hand outs to anyone in my family just because of who their parent was, I go on the logic that their parent isn't here or in my family, their child is and that respect of the parent doesn't count here and they must earn it themselves.

My ancestors knew Cthulhu <the first>, in the times when every boss had twenty plus guards, interesting times indeed.

Marcus takes a signature drag off of a cigarette and flicks a bit of ash on the cold ground. He then turns his attention back to the small crowd gathered around this particular street corner where KingJulian started to talk about ancestors. Marcus was intrigued by the conversation and collected his own thoughts as others stated theirs.

It's very true that when a father dies and his son comes into our world officially he'll be given special treatment. This special treatment can be good or bad. What if the father or mother was a rogue, some one who wanted to take down or away something they did not agree with. Then this next of kin may find themselves soon in the morgue under mysterious circumstances. Or this last of kin was a great mob boss that powered our country through this thing of ours and it's next line of the family tree may be welcome with open arms and given plenty of protection, maybe even more then needed.

The thought on rogue children has been cut open and studied more times then I'd like to have seen in these streets. You can't beat a dead horse so I won't be going into that much, but there are different ways of special treatment and I just wanted to point that out.

Marcus pauses to inhale the last of his cigarette. He stubs it out with the toe of his shoe before continuing.

KingJulian, you asked that if a great line's new child would continue the road of extraordinary production of positive work in our world. I believe that most of the time they do, but sometimes a child may come into our headquarters, take our shelter and turn against us with revenge in their eyes and a jaded heart in their chest. Maybe they feel their mother was wrongfully taken from their life to early and the only purpose of them picking up the life of crime is to extract the one that killed their mother from our world or do as much damage as they possibly can.

He couldn't go for more then five minutes without his hand itching for another cigarette in it. Marcus reached into his pocket and pulled out another smoke.

There seems to be a greater expectation for next of kin to do good or bad. If their parent was a rogue then it's almost expected that their child will be trouble as well, but if the parent was a mob boss then the child will follow the same path. Is there any expectation for someone right off the boat? Yes, but it's obviously different compared to a family line who has experienced our way of life.

Is it about who and what you know? Of course it is. That's why we have different expectations for an experienced bloodline and someone just off the boat who usually doesn't have any connections. One must experience things to gain knowledge to better themselves in our world.

Marcus inhales on his cigarette and continues on his way, Bob following behind.

I am and probably always will be someone who is keen to give people a second chance, it is a personality trait which makes me look for the good in people first and foremost. Some people make rash decisions, dickie wad being a prime example, however I know under the right crew leader dickies bloodline will flourish. Why do I know this because I have seen it over and over again, the pros with having him on board far out weigh the cons.

My position I'd like to think I got here on hard work and pure excellence in my own right but I have a sneaky suspicion that TheDean knew my bloodline, well more than a sneaky suspicion and recruited me solely because he knew the importance of the position and knew exactly what he was getting putting me in it.

There are some roles blood lines can't get away from no matter how hard they try, there are some personality traits which are just far far far to difficult to hide. This is the main reason why people are judged by there blood lines.

I will give you 2 examples.

The lovehandles blood line will always shoot things and will always have a sexual thing for cuddly toys, he has been treated for this but it is on going.

The ross89 line will always be a lazy cunt slow to rank piss poor gun but when your back is against the wall in a tight spot he will wake from his drunken stupor phone up clause and get clause to help you out.

These are the ways of our world
