Most of the time, cutie wasn’t able to go out for a fun shopping date with her friends or a nice, relaxing spa day with the home girls. First of all, she needed to make some friends first. Well, you see… that would be a very hard thing to accomplish since she had a very judgemental personality and would probably scare someone off before they got to even mutter a word. Nonetheless, cutie was open to new acquaintances, and if she was to even fall for another lady-… That would be a whole ‘nother story. She picked up her books and pens off her desk at the Outer Heaven HQ, and gracefully headed in the direction of the exit doors. Cutie told John and Bachelor in advance that she would be going out for lunch… by herself… It was actually pretty miserable, to go on a solo date, but cutie guessed that this would be the first step in trying to break the habit of avoiding others just because they weren’t on the same level as her. She knew that she would offend someone with her words, that’s if she didn’t think before talking, but today she was in a surprisingly good mood, so she promised herself to keep an open mindset and a warm smile on her face. As she stepped down the stairs of the office building, she clutched onto her purse and flicked her natural, golden hair over her shoulder. She could see her car right where she parked it, followed shortly by a sigh of relief. There was a moment of silence when she approached her car. She studied the wheels, the window, the design, the colour… god that paint job was horrendous. Cutie frowned to herself before biting her lip out of concern for her disgrace of a car. One of its wheels would probably break off soon. Maybe tomorrow I should ask for advice from John on what car he recommends for me, cutie thought to herself sadly. She was pretty attached to her current one though and it would be a shame to see it be towed away after a car accident or something. Some of her best memories were made in there. For instance, the first time she ever… anyways- cutie suddenly felt traumatized to think about it, so she cleared her throat embarrassingly and proceeded to walk around the car to get to the other side. Once her bottom landed on the driver’s seat, she started the engine as soon as possible and sped off to her favourite café, where the different types of coffee beans were neatly displayed at the front counter and the employees would greet you with those killer smiles. As she turned a corner, she suddenly noticed an old lady supporting her own body with a push trolley, moving it across the concrete path. cutie was tempted to stop the vehicle as she saw that the lady was having trouble walking, not fast, but fast enough that she would be able to get to the end of the road. It seemed like she was having a tough time, as cutie knew she was straining the muscles in her leg just to take a step. Now, it was definitely the first time that cutie just stopped for a second and took the time to help somebody out. She always had to advise strangers that she could be a little selfish sometimes, only getting into things for her personal gain- but cutie recently took up therapy for her own good, something that would actually benefit her, and now she could probably help anyone out. Even her worst enemy, if it came to that. It wouldn’t though, because cutie killed her already. Nonetheless, she stopped the vehicle and parked it just near enough to the lady so she could easily approach her. With a steady hand, cutie gently guided her forward, while the other hand was on her back for reassurance. “It’s okay ma’am, I got you… I got you…” cutie cooed. She even went so far as to walk her down the whole path, right to the end. At the end of it, cutie felt a sense of relief as well as comfort in herself for taking some time out of her day to help someone in need. It was these things that mattered to her the most. Not the kinds of things in the streets these days. Well to be honest, cutie was all about that life as well- but this… cutie got a real kick out of this. It was amazing, and she really felt great just to help out. The lady looked up for the first time to see cutie’s face and she gushed in delight and spoke in a quiet, yet full tone. “Oh, sweetie.. you’re wonderful. Thank ya.” She nodded her head in cutie’s direction and told her goodbye in a thankful manner. Cutie thought that would be the last time she would have to interact with someone she had never met before, but damn… fate works in mysterious ways. She was on the way back to her car when she sees an unfamiliar, fedora-hat-wearing, bearded man in a monkey suit. She raised an eyebrow and gave him a very peculiar look when she walked closer to him. “Excuse me, not to be rude or anything, but if you could not lean on my car. I’m just about to head off and I-..” cutie was stopped mid-sentence when he shook his head and laughed loudly. “You ought to get a new one. This right here,” he playfully pointed to the wheels with his thumb in a cocky way, “is a piece of trash. You know, I really hope you got a story to tell… otherwise I really gotta say you have poor fucking taste.” Usually, this would be the time that cutie wouldn’t let something like this slide, and maybe even throw a punch or two, but this man was undeniably… extremely… attractive. So that gave him some leeway and saved himself for getting a couple of bruises. “If you got an hour, or two. Then yeah. I got a story. Wanna hear?” |

His mouth twitched as he contemplated cutie's invitation. The man didn't really have much expectation for how it would go down, mostly the reason why he accepted it, because to him it was fun to enter situations that were hard to interpret. It was risky. That was his style. "I'm all ears. Tell me what ya got to say." cutie ended up driving to the local cafe that she was originally heading off to, and when they got there - they exchanged their pleasantries and the man returned a cheeky smirk. It was obvious from the smirk he couldn't wipe off that he was amused by the whole situation. cutie was slightly offended and disappointed by her first impression of the man, as she genuinely took a sudden interest in him despite his initial rudeness. There was a sense of infamy about him, like he was known around here for being mean or something. She started to take a seat, and he was the one to break the silence. "So? What's your story?" If it wasn't for her good mood and patience, she wouldn't be able to answer the question - but luckily cutie kept her cool. She shrugged, thinking about what to say to his interrogative question. It was a long story, but he DID mention that he had all day to listen to her, so cutie took advantage of the time they had and decided to start from the very beginning. "Yeah, yeah, alright. My taste, wasn't always trash, like you say. Surprisingly, I had a far too expensive taste in my younger years. Parents were very wealthy overseas in Asia, and I guess their knowledge of expensive brands and prestigious businesses were passed down to me. Unfortunately, there is no happy ending to this. I think. I went from living in a mansion to going homeless and broke." She paused as one of the waitresses came to their table and placed two cups of coffee on it. cutie lifted her cup and took a sip, swallowing down the hot liquid that warmed her throat. The man did the same as well, and almost choked as he listened to cutie ramble. "Huh? Now how did a rich princess like you go homeless and broke? Surely your stupidity, poor taste and irresponsibility has something to do with this?" His ignorant response received an eye roll from cutie. But still, she remained her cool and pressured on into the conversation. "You're almost there, not quite. I lost it all because I wasn't able to... repay my debts." cutie paused again as she realized her carelessness was showing. There was no denying it now. It was out in the air, and she had to address it. "Okay. Fine. I guess you're right. I was blessed with generous parents who gave me everything I wanted, and silly little me thought money grew on trees - so I spent every last dime on whatever intrigued my eyes and on whoever interested me. I thought I could bribe people, even cops, to do things for me. It worked for a while. But there's always that one rat. A snitch." The man raised an eyebrow before laughing like a maniac. "Ahh... classic riches to rags story, eh?" He was right, after all. "Something like that... Anyways, why are we just talking about me? Don't you have a story? Or do you just have something to hide?" The unnamed man broke out in defence mode and he shook his head quickly with an amused smile. He explained to cutie that he just "didn't like her", although she didn't believe it. She nodded helplessly anyway. "Okay. Well." There was an awkward silence between the two as the loud chatter in the cafe engulfed the air around them. cutie let him go. He looked like he was in a rush. "Alright lady, well I sure did have a good time getting to know you. But I can't help but think you left out some minor, yet important details. Lets talk another time?" cutie had no say in the matter, but she admitted to herself that she did want to keep in contact. He quickly rushed out of the cafe after placing a business card on the table in front of her that had his address as well as his company. He was a talent manager?! Who would've thought... To be continued... probably never... cutie had no talent.... but she did need a new friend... |
