It's no secret the House is won by the opposing party that won the presidency. It will be real interesting to see if the House votes Nancy Pelosi in as House Speaker. For those who are not in the know, her party and voters have ill feelings about her. |

This gets even more interesting! The new House members are not totally against the Trump agenda. What does the future hold for Americans? |

It's a pragmatic approach, I watched a lot of stuff and it generally seemed that the Democrats weren't really for anything just against everything Trump was doing and that's really easy to campaign against/whip up support for. They may look back on it as a sense of a missed opportunity despite getting the House. |

I don't think it's a crazy idea to say that if there are certain shared goals between the new majority and Donald's agenda, there could be room to compromise. I'd like to see that happen over just 2 years of additional gridlock. Now that the purse strings are controlled by the Democrats it'll be interesting to see how that new relationship dynamic transfers to things like healthcare, where a lot of people see the administration as taking steps to damage the ACA, or the prospects of funding the border wall. I've no doubt that the subpoena power that they're going to receive is going to be the biggest thorn in his side moving forward - I think I read somewhere that the worst case scenario for the Trump admin would be akin to something like 12 Benghazi investigations - and while I don't necessarily agree with investigating for the sake of a fishing expedition, it'll be interesting to see how the administration reacts to now having an actual check on their power that isn't just a legislative filibuster in the senate. |
