In this power-hungry, homicidal, crazy world all I know is one thing and that is to protect those dearest to me and hold my family above all.

To the new guys out there, the only way to get to the top of the ranks and get yourself heard is to post in the streets, however scary, strange, or nasty they may be.

You want to rise to the top in this world of chaos? Be respectful and Talk with dignity in these streets. Don't argue or dispute. There is no reason in it ;)

Oh and I know this will rise some questions as to who I think I am or something of that sort and probably even disrespect, but please follow this code and prosper in this world.

It's a shame that someone disagreeing with another is deemed as disrespectful these days. To move around like mindless robots, only worthy of earning cash for leaders, but making sure that nothing other than "kudos" and "you're right" comes out of our mouths is a sad existence.

Perhaps this is a reason the streets are full of washed up speeches, repeated ideas, and "Congratulations Crewleader, you made the right decision" comments. This world is slowly dying, and it's only a change in ideology that can revive this place to the glory that it once was.

Not to "argue" with you, sir. I merely pose a question. If you were to debate, and your skills as a cunning linguist were to shine through, couldn't that earn you respect? Must we censor all debate?

Again, only a question. Not an argument. ;)

Who are you? You're Geoffrey666, and that's all that should matter to anyone. You don't need to justify your existence by pointing to a pedigree.

This is good advice for anyone just getting into the business. It's ok to disagree with others, as long as you do so respectfully. You can actually get away with quite a bit if you are very careful about how you voice your opinions.

and, Nero, I never said I was against all debate, I just did not clarify. If one is to debate why do it in the streets? on could simply take it to mobmail.

indeed weasel, one can get away with many things, but I would push it.

No one should be muted for fear of aggravating someone higher ranked than them. But it all depends on what you're saying and how you're saying it.

To explain I'll use an example. So take those religious people that stand in the Street and preach to try and convert as many people as possible. Me personally, I was raised as a Catholic so I'm used to Church services and mass inside a religious building. Even though myself the Catholic, and the gee on the Street telling me to love Jesus believe the same thing, I find myself appalled by his approach.

I do not need his opinion force fed to me.

Perhaps this is just because of my upbringing and the way I experienced religion, but I think it's more than that. I do not like being told what I need to do or what I need to believe.

So using this example and bringing it to the situation we have here. Say I give a speech about a change I want to make in Philadelphia. Two men approach me. One starts spitting up venomous bile about how shit my idea is, the other talks to me calmly and presents his side of the argument in a clear and concise way.

I am not even going to bother listening to the first guy. He just seems angry and bitter. In fact, I am more likely to do the opposite of what this person says. Whereas, when I speak to the second guy, I am more inclined to listen.

But even saying that, I would rather have 10 angry protesters compared to 10 sycophants. I don't believe for one second I've made it as a great leader or that I'm anywhere close. So when I do make decisions or act, there are times when I might make a mistake (hopefully these are few and far between). If I have no one to tell me I did it wrong, I'm gonna keep making the same mistakes over and over.

So for me personally, I'd like to encourage people to speak out as long as they keep it respectful. If you're gonna shout at me and call me a 'cunt' I certainly won't listen. If you do it in a respectful manner, then odds on I will.

There does seem to be a fine line between disagreeing and disrespecting someone nowadays. I think freedom of speech is essential for the environment we live in today. The way I live my life is to protect my friends, put my word in where I think it is needed and to get on with my business. Good enough for me anyway.

Tollin had been pondering the question as other people answered, and he finally came up with an idea...

"The main point is that if you are not happy with what somebody does, you should tell them the alternative and why you think that is a better idea. Nobody likes to have their way of thinking shot down, especially if it's by an asshole who doesn't know how to respect those who should be respected."

He stops to think for a few seconds.

"When somebody does something and is told it was wrong, they become defensive. The best way to explain your idea is by doing just that, explain your idea. While you may think that the leader's idea was stupid, you shouldn't say so, that's where the disrespect comes in. Simply say what you think and why you think it would work better. Don't get upset if they don't listen to you, they've been around long enough to have that right. It also probably wouldn't be the best career move to say, 'I told you so,' either."

He looks around at the people and waits for a response.
