The stranger sauntered around the corner of a random municipal building in downtown Philadelphia with the elegant grace of an alley cat. Casually passing the occasional vagrant or random couple out for a midnight stroll, he continued on without an apparent care in the world. His lack of a concern with the reality around him drew a number of odd glances but he took no apparent notice or concern whatsoever. It seemed like a rather mundane night to the stranger, but even the most simple of nights had a ways of becoming life changing... As the man came to an abrupt stop at an intersection, he drew a lighter and lit the joint that had been resting unlit in his mouth for several blocks. While taking a slow drag from it, he stowed his lighter and began to ponder the current situation. He always mustered his greatest inspirations and ponderings while totting the fine line between moderately stoned and rambling philosopher stoned. Christ. This bloody city reeks like death and shite. Who in their right bloody mind would want to live here, intentionally? No style, decrepit and run down buildings everywhere, not a decent whiskey to be had in three bars, and the women....Pfft. Not a one to be deservn' a second glance. Stop dreaming about the ladies! There's business to attend to. If you ever want to get back to LA or Vegas and out of this merda of a city, then you best start finding a suitable set of wheels to nick. Earlier in the evening he had come across a fancy Mercedes roadster and a Buggati monstrosity that someone with entirely too much money had paid for. However, such marks always drew way too much heat and with no backing on these streets, he wasn't about to risk such a lift. The stranger had balls, but he was not fool. That Mic prick in that north side bar was entirely too chatty with me, but he let it slip that he'd pay good money for a throwaway truck that could carry some booze outside the city. Now where might... As the stranger passed an alleyway, his thoughts immediately were dashed aside as he spied a Ford Model TT pickup truck with what looked like a custom extended bed. Now that's the ticket, things are about to get a whole lot interesting... The stranger glanced up and down the street outside the alleyway, flicked his nearly spent joint to the ground and ducked into the alley to see what manner of trouble he could get himself into. |
