Instead of spamming every upper structure in the game, I think its best to put those birthday wishes in a single OOC post.

So I'll start off by saying its my wife's 3rd cat's birthday today. If you'd like to send me a mail with a virtual pet or maybe some cat treats, please do. If you don't care about me or my wife's 3rd cat, you are more than happy to ignore this post.

Hopefully more people will post in here for birthday wishes instead of spamming the entire upper structure of the game for nonbusiness matters. You never know when a mass mail with real concerns might get lost in with the bday wishes...

Apologies, but some of us just aren't interested in who's birthday it is, was or soon will be. Unless it's Handsome Rob's wife's third cat's that is.

I'm not sure there's any rules stating friendly, connection building types of things can't be sent through the upper structure channels. Just ignore it if you don't feel the need to respond to it. And I highly doubt that would be the reason you will miss something important because someone cared enough to share another's birthday in a community where people actually give a shit about those types of things for one another (or maybe should).

We're not all robots here. Some of us are even human sometimes. Maybe open yourself up to that soul within now and then, instead of asking others to close themselves off to it.

However these things like this should in house. There needs to be a precedence on a communication tool or it'll get taken advantage of.

And the reason why someone may miss something important is because a recipient of these pointless mails, which are being sent out day after day, might put said senders on ignore and it will be the culprit's fault. If you'd like I'll be sure to mail out tomorrow when its my wife's 4th cat's birthday. And then it might be her 5th's on the next day. I'd have to ask her. She has a lot of cats man.
