A Trip to the Doctors Started by: Ju_St_Ice on Nov 22, '18 14:39

It happened again. Another dead body, another mistake.

Justice had a problem that had been bothering him for a while. At first he thought it might go away on it's own, but it showed no signs of disappearing. He'd made an appointment with his family doctor, and was on his way there now.
Making his way through Corktown, he came upon the doctors office. Entering the dimly lit surgery, Justice took a seat and waited his turn. Looking at the pamphlets on the table, he became engrossed in one about the health benefits of heroin. Interesting, he though. After a short while, his name was called, and he walked through to the doctors office.

This doctor had saved Justices life on many occasions. In this line of work, stray bullets and beatings were commonplace. Bones had to be fixed, cuts stitched. But this was an entirely different problem. Justice sat down opposite the doctor.

"Good afternoon Justice. What is it you would like to discuss today?" he said, only half paying attention as he shuffled the papers on his desk.
Justice clasped his hands together, and began to twiddle with his thumbs nervously. He'd never like coming to the doctors, he always seemed to end up leaving worse than when he came in. And he didn't like the probing questions, he liked to keep himself to himself. Alas, this problem was getting out of hand, and he knew that if he kept on going at this rate he would end up dead.

"See Doc, I dunno if you can help with this. I'm not really sick...well physically. This is an affliction of the mind." Looking up at the doctor, Justice tried to gauge an reaction.
"Well let me know and I'll see what I can do" the man replied, whilst pushing his spectacles further up his nose.
Taking out a pen and paper, he made a few quick notes before waiting for Justice to continue.

"So Doc, I'm doing my usual thing. You know, out there being a reprobate, making money the easy way. But something has changed. I like to pick pocket those who wish to profit from my businesses. Those slimy CA bastards have too much cash, so relieving them of some is right up my alley. At the moment though, whenever I go to rifle through their pockets, my gun goes off! Bang! Another CA dead."
"Now I've been paying people off for ruining their connections, but I don't want it to get to a point where someone important has to get involved. I've got a reputation to uphold."

The doctor looked at him, studying his expressions. Slowly writing on his pad "trigger happy" he checked to see if Justices hand was anywhere near his gun.
"And you wanna know the worse bit? My impulse control has gone Doc. There's people out there that don't wanna be pick pocketed. They really don't. They even wear suits with pick pocket unfriendly all over it. As soon as I see that, my hands are already heading for their pockets. It's such a rush! Knowing they don't want it, but knowing that I can. I tell you Doc that really gets my socks off"

Having heard Justices predicament, the Doc took a second to think through his treatment options.

"Ok Mr. St. Ice, we have a couple of plans for you. The first one would be electrotherapy."
Justice shook his head violently. They'd tried that with him before, and a lot of good doctors had been lost that day.
"Ok well the second option. I will prescribe you some marijuana. Before you go out for your daily fun, roll up some marijuana, and smoke it. This should calm you down enough to a point where you will have a hard time motivating yourself to murder!"

Justice didn't mind this idea. He'd been around it a lot in his early drug running days, and had occasionally smoked it with his friends.

The Doctor passed him a prescription note, and Justice readily took it. Thanking the Doctor, Justice left the office and returned back to the streets. Looking at his prescription, he noticed that he needed some cash to buy the marijuana. "Shit" he thought "left the wallet at home again"

And just as he realised that, a CA walked past. With juicy looking pockets. "Oh no here I go again" thought Justice, as his hands reached towards his pocket.

BANG!
