Casualties of a Dice Game Started by: Ju_St_Ice on Nov 24, '18 16:21

Justice and HA_SHTAG were cruising through the streets. It had been a great day, and their pockets were heavy with all the cash they had procured. Corktown was heaving, people coming and going, carrying out their daily hustles. Driving past, they noticed a corner where a a group of guys were rolling dice. Parking up, they exited the vehicle. HA_SHTAG had some business to take care of up the road. Nothing too dangerous. Just shaking down a shopowner.

"Hey Hash, mind if I shoot some craps whilst you take of that?" he asked his friend.
Nodding back to him, HA_SHTAG turned and continued his walk up the road. Justice made sure his weapon was loaded, before approaching the gamblers. Never could be too careful. Click clack. He cocked it back, ready.

Turning back to the huddled group, Justice introduced himself.
"Any chance I can crash the last spot guys? I'm good for it" he pulled out a wad of cash to prove his point. They moved aside to let him in. Justice looked around the group. It was packed, barely any room to see the dice. He could see the cash though. Nothing excited Justice more than seeing cats with fat pockets, ripe for the taking.

Crouching down, Justice took a second to take in the game. The gathered men were playing ceelo, a personal favourite of his. When the last round had ended, Justice jumped in. Placing $1000 in the pot, the other guys looked at him, before a few reluctantly called his bet. Justice gathered up the dice and took his first roll. Fuck, he lost. Oh well. The next. Again, a loss. This wasn't going well. He was down a few grand now. Pausing to blow on the dice, Justice said a few hail marys and rolled. HEAD CRACK. He gathered the dice. HEAD CRACK. He'd made a profit now, so he decided to head back to the car. Gathering up his winnings, he returned to the car to await HA_SHTAG

HA_SHTAG was taking longer than expected. Justice was sat in the drivers seat, slowly smoking a cigarette. He looked back over to the gamblers, and noticed a few of them giving him quick looks, whilst talking hurriedly among themselves. It seemed they were plotting something. Justice's gut instincts were rarely wrong, so he started to prepare himself for the worst. Suddenly, HA_SHTAG appeared at the side of the car, banging the roof of it, causing Justice to jump.
"Bloody hell man you scared the life out of me. Hop the fuck in, somethings not right here" HA_SHTAG entered the vehicle, and Justice quickly drove off. His friend noticed the smile on his face, and asked "Ok how much did you win?" Justice hadn't had time to count the money, so he shrugged and told HA_SHTAG "45, maybe 50 g's"
They drove for a short while, before @HA_SHTAGs stomach broke the silence.

"You hungry bud?" Justice asked him.

"Yeah, putting the work on that shop-keep has given me an appetite."

"Ok, I'll drop you off at Guiginos and head home, I'm pretty tired"

Heading home to get some sleep, Justice noticed that a car had been following him for some time. He had a spot round the corner, where one of his associates stored some guns for them. He pulled over, and got an errand boy to run ahead.

"Go tell Bones that I'm being tailed. Get him downstairs with the big guns"

Justice slipped the boy a few dollars. Pulling back off, he headed round the block, before pulling up at Bones place. The errand boy was waiting, walking sheepishly up to Justice

"Sorry sir, he said he has some woman in there and can't help"

Justice slammed the wheel in frustration. He'd helped Bones get in with the family, given him jobs and a head start. And this was how he repayed him? Leaving him out to dry for some whore.
Justice pulled away again, and started gathering speed. Looking in his mirror, he recognised the driver. It was one of the men he had taken for a lot of money at the game. He was with his associate, who looked like a nefarious sort. Justice took his pistol out from its holster, and took the safety off. He had a plan. Speeding up even more, the pursuers matched his speed. All of a sudden, Justice slammed on the breaks. They weren't expecting that. The car collided with his, smashing their front up. Justice hadn't fared much better in the collision. A deep gash to his right arm was bleeding profusely. He hopped out as quick as he could. The passenger had met a cruel end. In the crash, his face had become intimate with the dashboard, killing him instantly. The windshield had smashed, cutting the remaining thugs face up. Turning to him, Justice realised he was trapped. He was trying to remove himself from the car, when Justice tried to aim his gun at him. His arm was badly injured, and he couldn't raise it. No panic, Justice though to himself, whilst taking a few deep breaths. He switched the pistol to his left hand. Walking round to the drivers side, Justice placed the gun against the guys face. He shook his head, and then unloaded the full clip into him.
Justice stumbled, he felt weak on his feet. "Shit" he thought "must have lost more blood than I thought" He needed to see a doctor, and quick. He had something he needed to sort out first though.

Breaking into a nearby car, Justice started the engine and drove. He had a purpose, which helped to focus him through the blood loss. He headed back to Bones, revenge was needed. He staggered into the building, looking dead on his feet. Getting to Bones door, he didn't have the strength to kick it down. Shooting at the lock, the door came open. Justice walked in as quick as he could. Bones was there, still with his whore. Justice grabbed the woman by the hair and tossed her around. His animal aggression took over, and he started to beat her, all the while keeping the gun trained on Bones. She was unconcious on the floor now, so Justice turned his attention back to his supposed friend. Bones gave him a look, almost as if he knew he would die. Looking him straight in the eyes, Bones asked Justice "Why? Don't do this man. Take all my cash, anything, take it all" he begged. Justice hesitated a moment, and then pulled the trigger.

The doctors was a few blocks from where Justice currently was. He started heading there. A couple of minutes later, he realised two cops were chasing him. Fuck, can't get arrested, he thought to himself. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Firing his gun at them, they returned in kind. Justice had been to jail once, and he wasn't going back. The gun fight seemed to last a lifetime, but was only a few short moments. Justice caught one of the cops in the head, and he fell to the ground. One down. The other cop took cover behind a car. Justice took a moment to gather his senses. His arm was still bleeding real bad, and he didn't think he had long left. Checking around, he noticed the cop was busy checking on his dead partner. Justice took the opportunity to get out of dodge, so he ran over to a nearby park. There were kids playing innocently, a sharp contrast to the events that had just happened nearby. Justice could tell he didn't have long left. He threw the cash in the air, watching as the children all ran to grab some for themselves. Justice smiled to himself, whilst collapsing on the floor. The distant sound of sirens coming towards him. Too late he murmured as the light faded from him.
