The obvious tremble in Cassandra's voice gained the attention of Cary_Grant, her leader, who actually appreciated what he was seeing despite her confusion about his opinion of the situation. With a wicked yet joyous voice, he marvelled at the sight. A suitcase full of cash and diamonds. Who wouldn't look it as a phantasmagoric scene presented to him? "Now this, this is what I live for. Gosh dammit Nikolai, so that's where you've been doing all this morning when I was trying to look for you. Being a damn criminal," he says in a sharp yet playful tone. Then he took the suitcase from Cassandra's and Nikolai's hands to inspect it further. But Cassandra reckoned he was just being greedy. "Before you touch, lower your expectations a little bit. I promise I'll try find a bigger job next time. Right Nikolai? You're down for another road trip?" As she said this, she got flashbacks from last night - remembering how nervous she had been to ask him to help her. But now it was like second nature talking to him in such a forward manner. If this was what family bonding meant, she wondered what it would be like on Christmas. Now that's something to imagine. |

Nikolai fought to keep a grin off his face as he watched the interaction between Cary_Grant and CassandraVilmont. Acting more like a Father and Daughter than anything else, he thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between them. From the nervousness of possibly disappointing her "Father", to the disapproving look followed by a warming grin by the parent, then the commitment of the "child" that she would do better in the future. It was cute, but he was too old to play cute any more. Looking at Cary_Grant, he said "Boss, Cassandra did a really good job on planning the heist. Now, I need a drink." Looking at Cassandra in a sideways glance and keeping any hint of humor off his face, he said "Nice job kid. I look forward to the next one." Walking into the HQ he headed back toward his office and the well earned glass of scotch. Halfway to the back, he thought It's five o'clock somewhere right? as it dawned on him that it was only 8 am in the morning. Sitting in his chair after pouring a small glass of scotch, he replayed the events of the morning in his mind. He had to admit, he felt very much alive right now, thanks to CassandraVilmont. Without realizing it, he had fallen in a rut and had lost his vigilance for life. Maybe this bonding time with the Family was just what he needed. |

There was a hint of playfulness in Cassandra's eyes as she heard Nikolai boast about her efforts. She was very proud of herself, but also extremely grateful that she had such a helpful guy like him assist her in the heist. Cassandra was desperately trying to figure out whether she was overcome with delirium or drowning in a pool of mania. She was still giddy from the execution. But she calmed herself down with a drink of orange juice after giving a silent happy nod to Cary and Nikolai - who also walked away shortly after to grab a drink. "Be right back, peeps." Cary, left with the suitcase, did not find it a malady at all to drag it to the safe. When he had finally opened it, he barked at the contents with pleasure. His eyes were transfixed on the sparkle and shine of the many jewellery pieces laid out in front of him, and was tempted to give Jennifer_Grant a sneak peak. He knew she'd love this. This not only made them richer overnight, but it was helpful to add to the federal bank account in case of emergencies in the future. While Cary saw his beloved daughter approach him, in the meantime - Cassandra twirled around in her swivel office chair. Her teethy smile showed that she hadn't been this happy for so long. Family bonding at its best. But the hustle wasn't over. She tried looking through her list of connections and wondered if they had any big jobs on offer. OC's weren't new in this life. |
