Yakuza Motors Started by: Ronin on Nov 26, '18 23:03

Ronin's family had long held strong roots in Detroit. Several generations had lived and worked there, and even when they didn't, most tried to visit as often as possible. Ronin was visiting some friends in the motor city when he came across the opportunity to purchase an old used car lot. The previous owner had gone into debt with a bookie and Ronin bailed him out in exchange for his business. He left the man, Roger, in charge of the establishment as general manager, but changed the name to Yakuza Motors in honor of his heritage.

It was your standard 1940s used car lot, old model Ts that barely ran with a few newer models sprinkled in here and there. To the public, it was one of the least appealing car lots in town. But to a mafioso, it was a car lot like no other. In the basement garage below the offices, ronin had hired several excellent mechanics to alter some of the finer models. They were modified to be the paramount of mafia cars. Bullet proof panels were installed in the doors, and bullet proof glass was fitted in the windows. The back seats were altered to be more spacious, the fronts cramped and uncomfortable to make room. Secret compartments were cut into the trunks to store contraband. Ronin already had several custom orders to fill; one man wanted cup holders, another wanted a gun rack, a lady asked for a mirror to be installed in place of the partition window. No two Yakuza Motors customized cars were alike.

Ronin visited the lot as often as he could to make sure Roger had things running smoothly. On this particular day one of his customers was scheduled to pick up a custom Ford Deluxe, and Ronin wanted to make sure things went smoothly. He sat in the offices sipping coffee and waiting for his friend to arrive.

Charlie walked onto the car lot, admiring them with his ever childish and excited gaze, he made sure to pull it back, not wanting anyone to take advantage of him in this way, he walked up to a man that he believed to be an employee of the fine establishment, sticking his hand in greeting and a smile plastered on his face, his head bowed.

"Nice to meet you, sir, I was wondering, do you know if the owner is available, I would like to make a purchase."

His serene and calm smile still plastered on his face, he was not ready to meet the man yet, so he thought that he would kill some time, but hopefully, he would be able to purchase one of these fine cars soon, wanting to make sure that he drove in nothing but the best. He waited for an answer for the man, wondering if this was the owner and if he had made a mistake...

Ronin was standing in the offices waiting for his custom buyer to arrive, when he noticed something outside in the lot. One of his salesmen, Robert, was shaking hands with a man who was unmistakably a gangster. Not just any gangster either, but one if the most well known public speakers in the mafiosi underworld. Not wanting to miss a custom sale, Ronin hastened outside to intercept the transaction before his salesman sold Charlie a civilian vehicle.

"Take five, Bobby, I'll take this gentleman. Mr. Pavanno, if you'll follow me inside to the custom garage, I'm certain we'll have something to suit your needs.

Charlie was just talking with the man, when he noticed a mobster of New York come out of the depot to greet him, he recognized the man as Ronin, a man who was making some moves on the streets and opening some shops here in Detroit, perhaps a couple of other places, but Charlie did not know if the man had actually set up shop in a couple of the other cities, but he was here to get a car and not discuss the business portfolio of a fellow mobster.

It seemed that Ronin had wanted to make the sale himself as he had intercepted the salesman and stopped him from possibly bungling a big buy, it was something that Charlie had released a chuckle at, albeit, discreetly. He listened to the words that Ronin said, the man had a flair about him that was clearly brought on for occasions like this, knowing that he needed to keep a business running with all kinds of flair, theatrics and all-around positivity.

"Then please, lead the way and let us see if this shall meet my standards, of course, they are not that high. I am not like others who are here to look flashy, but I want protection, I am sure that you understand that."

He waited for the mobster to lead the way, although he had patience and would wait until the garage was prepared, or Ronin himself was prepared to make the deal that would make him a huge sum of money.

"Okay, I'll take it!" Agimat tells the caretaker as he handed him a small bag filled with cash. It was the only way he closed any deals, with cash. No papers, no trails, no titles... just cash. He exactly knew what he would do with the place. The old car lot had large space and Agimat would use every space and its four corners. His mentor, Desiderio was against it, he said that the lot was a junk yard.

Well, he was going to open his own junkyard. And he will fill the place with all the junk he can find. He just bought a smuggled wrecking machine that can compress useless metal. He would then sell the metal and he knew he would make lots of money. Desiderio still didn't buy it until he said his real purpose.

"It will be a great front for my planned cleaning business. I could stuff bodies from hits inside a car. Then my machine would do all the work. Just like magic, the bodies would disappear!"

Desiderio thought for a minute or two then waved his hand. It was hard to impress the Italian but, he will be once his junkyard makes money.

Rebuilding her life after faking her death wasn't as easy as she'd initially thought. She thought getting a dead body, having it surgically reconstructed to look like her, and leaving it at her office to make it appear as though she was gunned down was enough, but she failed to take into account the fact that she needed to buy a new house, a new car, new clothes, and new everything to avoid detection. So after numerous taxis who tried to scam her out of her cash, she'd finally arrived at Yakuza Motors, where the crowd she ran with bought their cars.

She asked to go into the basement and met up with the manager of the store. "What would it be today, Miss? Any specs in particular that you want?" Taiga paused for a moment, knowing full well she didn't have time to wait around for a car as she was flying out of Detroit within the week. She pursed her lips as she looked up, as if deep in thought. "Well, bulletproof glass is a given. I would also like it to be jet black, the darkest color you can find. The interiors should be stark white. That's all." The man gave her a quick nod before escorting her to the back and telling her about the prices and whatnot. Taiga zoned out, thinking about all the other things she needed to do and the accounts she needed to settle. Signing where she needed to sign, she handed him the downpayment before walking out of the store.

Coming back a few days after, she was glad to see a jet black convertible sitting in the middle of the showroom, just like she asked. She paid for the rest of her balance and drove off soon after, glad to have checked at least one item off her seemingly endless to-do list.

Megara had swung by her old city to pick up some belongings that were left behind, as she had recently migrated to New York as her family enteprise made the move across the city to further its operations.

The family had to leave in a somewhat hurried manner as a war broke out and New York was left vacant and had to be filled quickly. Megara didn't have enough time to get rid of her brand spanking new Cadillac she had brought from Yakuza Motors.

This was just collecting dust at this point and she could do with some quick cash. This was a custom made Cadillac, with barely any miles clocked on it, so she knew she'd get a good sum for it if she took it back, she also had a good relationship with the salesmen at the place.

Nonetheless, not too long later she took her whip to the Motor place, upon arriving she was warmly greeted, took a few moments to explain to the salesman why she had decided to sell the car so soon after purchasing it, but he understood that she had relocated.

After some quick discussions and negotations, they came to a tentative agreement which worked for both parties, Megara had quickly made hefty sum of cash for something which was just collecting dust, and the showroom just recouped a brand new custom Cadillac for below asking price. A win win in both sets of eyes.
