*Zeitgeist creaked one of his eyes open, it had been a long week and he may have celebrated a little too hard last night. His other eye opened a few moments later to take in the full scope of the damage of the night before, there were broken bottles, people passed out on every flat surface available as well as a puddle of suspiciously yellow liquid beside the bed. He lifted his hand to his face to rub the sleep out of his eyes and reached over to grab something to drink to wash away the taste of death that had made his mouth home. It turns out Zeitgeist has reached for a glass of Jack Daniels, and this wasn't exactly what he needed in his fragile state but he made the best of the situation. He summoned a combination of strength and courage lifting himself from his bed, tip-toeing over the the mounds of bodies scattered about this place over to the window to open the curtains. Zeitgeist had to take a moment to make sure he was seeing what he thought he was seeing, the leaderboard hit him in the face like a sledgehammer*
Well, it seems we have a race on our hands after all.
*Zeitgeist collected his thoughts, sobered up as quickly as possible and went to go recruit some assistance* |

I once fought the beast they call AlexanderKnight. I thought we had him. Midas tried, and Midas failed. I wish you the best of luck Zeitgeist. It's a bold move challenging the likes of Madeline and Mr. Knight. Suicide, actually. I'll begin preparing a wordy eulogy. |

Charlie saw his boss on the streets, speaking out towards Zeitgeist and he had to allow a small smirk twitch at the corners of his lips, already agreeing with Adonis on the matter, not because of any support to the once Philly native, Alex Knight, or even for the woman who owned business in Philly. He too had once faced Alex and well, it was a battle. "Zeitgeist, I wish you luck, but when one faces Alexander, they need to prepare for a battle. He's going to give it his all and sometimes, even that is not enough." He walked away, his lips still in a smirk, wondering how this battle of words in New York was going to go... |

Ronin smiled at the two philadelphians who had came forth to mock their challenge, and talk up the competition. There was nothing wrong with a friendly bit of banter.
He said nothing, only pointed up to the leaderboard, which had recently been updated.
#5 Manhattan, NY 283 #10 Brooklyn, NY 206
"It seems Manhattan has built a fairly sizable lead. Mister Knight and miss Madeline are certainly worthy opponents, and are not to be taken lightly. But they are only two people. At least ten of our people have made an effort to help in this war. We are the many, and while numbers certainly do not guarantee victory, it does tip the odds in our favor." |

Madeline smiled softly as Ronin came out to brag about Manhattan's sizeable lead. "In case you haven't noticed, we're hardly even trying yet. Don't count your chickens before they hatch, you should know that better than anyone. We have quite some time to go before this battle is over. For all you know, we're just letting you get comfortable before we make our move." |

*Zeitgeist swaggered down to the streets, he had been waiting for Brooklyn to catch up a bit before updating on the score for the day, he didn't want to be accused of fudging the numbers or anything of the like. Things were really beginning to heat up in the race and both districts were putting in some serious work*
Manhattan - 300 Brooklyn - 253
*Zeitgeist looked up at the board and was thus far happy with the progress and the efforts from the amazing team in Manhattan. Zeitgeist has a slight giggle at the note he found pinned to his door yesterday demanding payment for the wager that Manhattan had already lost. The war rages on...* |

*Zeitgeist was a little late on the report today, it had been a crazy 24 hours and the war seemed to have quietened down substantially but progress was still being made and he was almost certain that there was a tremendous amount of planning and plotting going on in the background and in back alleys. Zeitgeist was pleased Manhattan were managing to keep just ahead of Brooklyn, but he was very anxious in this quiet period. He looked up at the leaderboard once more*
Manhattan - 330 Brooklyn - 304
*Zeitgeist thought to himself that Brooklyn just wasn't letting Manhattan pull away, but we sure are going to try* |

*Zeitgeist had already heard the bad news, it was as he feared and Brooklyn's period of silence had been one of careful plotting and planning, what was once a cushy lead for Manhattan had been absolutely obliterated by Madeline and Zeitgeist could only help but wonder if they had even really begun to show what they can do yet. Zeitgeist had once again put the word out to Manhattan that more soldiers were needed on the front lines but it really wasn't looking good at this stage. Zeitgeist looked up dejectedly at the scoreboard and wept*
Brooklyn - 421 Manhattan - 345 |

Madeline strolled out to the streets looking for her friend from Manhattan. He'd been very quiet lately, no longer giving his daily updates on the score between the two districts. Granted, things in New York had been rather hectic these past few days - Manhattan had been invaded and all forces had turned to fight a real war, with guns and bullets rather than words. Madeline knew the war of words had mostly fallen to the wayside given the more pressing matters that New York had to attend too. Besides, with the score the way it was at the moment, Brooklyn had all but won. She glanced at the leaderboard with a smile before walking back towards Manhattan - after all, there was still an invasion to be fought off.

Miss_Niki walked out to the street after shooting at the bodyguards of the nefarious gang that had settled into Manhattan and saw her beloved Zeitgeist crying as he looked at the scoreboard of the war of the words. She knew that everyone had been busy, herself included, but it was no excuse, we can't let Zeitgeist down. She went to the corner, and picked up the phone, "Hello, Cato , we need you and your powerful speaking immediately!, don't dilly dally, we need to do our part! I'll see you later on today!! " The next call she made, was to her friend DamonSalvatore . He wasn't huge on speaking, but, maybe he could compel others to speak a lot! She kept making phone calls of all her friends and family, hoping they could get down here and change things around a bit. When she was done, she walked over to Zeitgeist and said " We haven't lost yet! stop being so sad. We can and SHOULD turn things around!!! Get up off the ground! We don't cry, we MAKE people cry.. " She handed Zeit a shot of whiskey and left to gather up more friends. |

Smiling Aislin leaned against a brick building as she looked on with fondness at her fellow New Yorkers as the discussed the... war. She leaned towards her bodyguard Ricky D and whispered conspiratorially, "Are you up for the challenge love? I think we can start giving these chums a run for their money. What do you say?" Ricky D smiles all teeth, its his most sinister one, then shrugs tossing his cigar as they began walking down the street, "Lets do this, and after we crush them lets throw a party." |

DamonSalvatore whizzed round before Miss_Niki could even finish the phone call. He looked around to catch up on what was going on as she pointed out the scoreboard;
Damon looked at Miss_Niki and couldn't help but smile.. "We never make it easy for ourselves, do we?" He looked at his friends and family from Manhattan that were gathered together.. "Fear not friends, for once we have diminished Stanford and his gang of goons, we will flood these streets with our presence and we will be taking what is ours!" |

*Zeitgeist walks back down to the streets, it had been an extremely chaotic 10 days and whilst upon reflecting on the final score it would seem like a complete failure, it wasn't. The truth is it's a fight Zeitgeist didn't care if Manhattan won, make no mistake he tried and did his best, but the end result never really mattered. This entire exercise and challenge was to encourage New Yorkers to return to the streets and Business District's of the 7 cities and share, and wax lyrical about their experiences, and that had been a resounding success. Zeitgeist pins the final score the board*
Brooklyn - 413 Manhattan - 324
*Zeitgeist had settled his wager with AlexanderKnight about a week ago already, he was well aware what the result was going to be, he was super proud to be part of this city with so many talented people* |
