To you, in remembrance Started by: Charlie__Pavanno on Dec 02, '18 20:06

"I leave this to you, my children, and should you have any children of your own, then you pass this along to them. Signed, Charles Peterson"

Charlie sat at the large table that was for his table of members, with his Right-Hand not being filled in this occasion, as Nikita seemed to be handling her own business for now. He understood and stood up, he looked down at the carved table. His eyes held a little bit of joy, but some sadness still came off of him, he knew what this meant and yet he had not gotten over it.

"You left me at the head of the table, Joe. Now that? I don't know why, yet wherever you are, I hope that you are living your life well. It was a fun ride, brother."

Charlie walked away, his hand running over the carved table that held the Tops Dice symbol, he walked out, running into some associates, among them were LadyIntegra, LordAlucard, and Mckinley. They were just lounging around, enjoying the Casino, while he continued to walk out. He noticed a few others of importance but knew that he had some business to take care of and would deal with that first.

Only he was not going to be dealing with that business as a Federal Officer walked towards him with a rather creepy smirk twitching at the corner of his lips. Charlie walked forward, his leather jacket, concealing the gun that he had tucked away in its inner pocket. His eyes holding the cunning of an apex predator.

"Officer, what brings you to the Ultra-Luxe?"

The Federal Officer held up his hand, stopping Charlie from talking any further, something that irked Charlie greatly, but he was hardly going to let it show. He simply watched the man, wanting to see what he wanted.

"Mr. Pavanno, your great escape from a Maximum Security prison is noted. Your stay on the outside was then funded by Joe Adonis, who made certain favors with judges and other officials, getting you out with only a couple of months. Only now, with Joe gone, that leaves you and your band of well, notable citizens. I want you to know that the F.B.I is re-launching its investigation of you, and this time, Joe can't save you anymore."

The officer walked away, leaving Charlie to watch him walk out of the Casino, he did not move from his spot. He could not because he had a feeling that things in this new era, well they were just picking up.

Charlie stood there, watching the doors that had just swung shut as the Officer walked out like he owned the joint. He knew that Nikita was hardly going to be able to get here with the business that she was going to be handling, he looked back over Casino, noticing the few associates that would do anything to support or help him in the process. His mind already going over who would help him, but also, who would best fit the position of gathering this information.

Mckinley was more suited as an assassin and more likely to shoot the bastard of an officer before any information could be gathered, although there were two others.

The two that had been making names for themselves a lot recently, LadyIntegra and LordAlucard, the people that he had spoken with and enjoyed their company. He walked over to them, motioning for the workers to scatter, to which they did with ease, knowing that Charlie was a nice guy when he could be, but the look on his, well it spoke of a monster lurking underneath.

"Integra, Alucard, something has come to light and I am going to be needing the finest assistance that well, we can afford. I need you two to gather information on the F.B.I Agent that just walked in here, should he prove too elusive, you have my permission to go to some of our political friends and find out what you can, is that understood?"

While Charlie enjoyed being the easy-going cat man, he was not going to allow it to show at this moment. It called for his true face, the face of business, the face of wrath. He was not going to stand here and allow himself to be threatened, if this agent wanted a war, he would get his war. Only he would get a lot more because as he walked into this casino, he had no idea the storm that he had awoken inside him. This F.B.I Bastard would learn to stick his nose elsewhere.

It had been a couple of weeks since what felt like a weird dream had occurred, if it even was a dream. Integra frowned as she sat at the bar within the Casino owned by their boss Charlie Pavanno. She was situated so she could watch who people as they came and went, not paying too much attention to anyone since it seemed quiet at the moment. She picked up the English liquor in front of her and took a drink before setting it down, thinking for a bit before pulling out of the Cigars she seemed to always have on her. She put the rest away as she lit her current one, lighting it and taking a puff, inhaling the smoke before letting it out in a slow stream, blowing it away from Alucard as she never did like blowing smoke into someone’s face.

She watched the man from the corner of her eye, mentally arguing with herself if she should talk to him about how she felt… but always found herself unable to actually go through with it, the fear of losing the precious friendship they had feeling mentally crippling. She shook herself mentally before catching movement by the front door, glancing at the man who was walking in like he owned this place. Her eyes narrowing slightly as she took another puff from her cigar, blowing it in the man’s general direction as she followed him with her sapphire colored eyes.

She had dealt with enough pompous assholes in London that she could feel the same type of aura coming off of this man. She immediately didn’t like it and couldn’t help but stare him down as she tried to figure out what it was that he wanted. She found herself eavesdropping on the conversation, only gathering bits and pieces of the conversation as she drank some more of the liquor in front of her. If it wouldn’t get them all in trouble she’d probably throw some words at the officer, but she knew that she couldn’t order people around this place like she was able to do at the Hellsing Organization London headquarters. Here she was basically a nobody trying to make a name for themselves. The long road laid itself out ahead of her to reach that personal goal she’d been given. She’d be damned if anyone fucked with it either, so seeing and hearing someone just about threaten her boss Charlie, well that wasn’t going to sit well now.

Hearing the name Adonis again, had caused her gaze to drop slightly as she wondered how he was doing with his retirement. She’d only known him for a short time, and had enjoyed the work he’d given, but she supposed everyone had to retire at some point for themselves. Integra, herself still had a long way to go though until she was anywhere near ready to do that, if she ever would be.

Sapphire eyes locked on the pompous officer as he walked past the bar and headed out through the doors, still acting like he owned this place and was to be feared, she couldn’t help but hope that she could teach him to not stick his nose where it belonged. That was one thing she had always hated about the ‘Knights’ back in England, they acted just like this cop and she couldn’t stand it. Besides, she had some frustrations to work out… so why not feel tempted to release frustrations into work?

Hearing Charlie call both her and Alucard, the blonde English woman polished off the whiskey before giving the man her full attention, her small cigar between her lips as she breathed in the smoke. “Gathering Information on an F.B.I Agent? Boss you are trying to make my day.” She chuckled softly as she took a long drag from the cigar, blowing the smoke away from the two people. She glanced at Alucard for a moment before turning back towards Charlie. “So… is there anything we Shouldn’t do while gathering information?” She cocked her head to the side, curious if they would be stopped from interrogating the man. She flicked the end of the cigar into the ashtray as she already started to think of ways they could… obtain information. Some more discreet than others, and some… not so discreet.

Charlie had smiled as he heard Integra speak, clearly, she was eager for the job, something that already had him smiling, knowing that she wanted to prove herself in their small little band that was growing by the day, something that made him all giddy inside. Although with this situation he did not allow it to show, he actually did not let anything show, he changed and knew that he did, it came with his role, he was not the same person he was as hand to Joe. He was a leader of men and women, he could not allow any sort of weakness to be shown, especially kindness.

"Heh, if I was trying to make your day Teggy, then I would have given you the job I had a few months back, but that is enough of my past. It's you young bucks that are here to make a name for yourselves, I am assuming you noticed the F.B.I Agent that just walked out of here, strutting like a peacock?"

He said as he put a smoke in-between his lips, his voice becoming muffled as he did so before he lit it and inhaled with a deep breath. He did find himself smoking more and he found it relieved the stress off of him, perhaps he should find a woman for that, it has been some time that he went on a date, he had not been on a date since Bianca and it was still hard to get over her death. He still wished that he could have protected her, that he could have brought her under the protection of Philly, yet, that was not to be.

He snorted, removing himself from the memory, not wanting to think of his past any longer, although before Integra had answered him, he had noticed the lingering gaze that she left on Alucard, almost like she thirsted to tell him something, yet did not have the will or strength to tell him so. It was obvious to him what it was, hell, he was sure that everyone rooted for the two and had a betting pool on when it would happen when it did, he would congratulate the two like they were his own.

He notices that Integra's gaze had gone from Alucard back to his, albeit less want, but more business, something that he was grateful for. He had soon gotten a nod from the negotiator of the two before he sat down on a stool that decorated the bar, he leaned forward, taking a bottle of bourbon from under the counter and unscrewing the bottle, before taking a large swig of the bottle.

"Well he is re-launching an investigation into me, looking to get me back on the inside, now don't you guys worry. That won't be happening, Joe may have made the deal, but now he's gone, this F.B.I fuck believes that he could turn some heads and make them see all the evil that I have brought onto the brilliant city of brotherly love."

He stated sarcastically, knowing that the drink was affecting him slightly, but not enough that he could not speak coherently. He heard Integra speak of what they shouldn't do in gathering information on this F.B.I Fuck, already wanting to help him, he had half a mind to tell them to spare no resource that he would cover no expenses, but doing so would bring the eyes of the F.B.I on their organization once more, soemthing he was not willing to do.

"I have half a mind to tell that you should spare no resource and find out everything you can from his birthday to his mother's maiden name. Only that would bring unneeded heat onto our business."

He took another swig, motioning for the bartender to leave them be, to which he did, rather quickly as well. Charlie noticed that Morty was watching from across the casino, arching his eyebrow, to which Charlie pushed the bottle of bourbon away from him, holding his hands up innocently, knowing that Morty had the best intentions regarding his previous fight with alcoholism. He looked back to Integra and Alucard with a cheeky grin.

"You are too careful in your gathering of information, nothing more and nothing less, if I hear of a break-in of any kind then chances are that I won't be happy. Is that understood!?"

Charlie took a deep breath, knowing that he did not mean to lose his cool with them, but this F.B.I fucker was already setting him on edge and he had not even begun his investigation yet.

"I'm sorry, uh, just be careful about what you do. If you need to go to one of our friends, have an outside friend of ours do it, not even an associate like yourselves can be seen around them with the F.B-Fucking-I snooping around like mutts."

He looked to them, wondering if they had anymore questions regarding their very important job that he was giving them, in a way, it was to prove themselves to him also. A test, in a way. He knew they would pass it, they had a natural style of handling things like this that he admired and could not wait to utilize.

He inhaled the deathly smoke once more before exhaling, not once caring how it would affect the people around that did not smoke, they were in his joint...

He sat at the bar next to his blonde haired sapphire eyed best friend, sipping on some of the finest red wine that could be imported, and if he closed his eyes, Alucard could have sworn he was back in London.  "Thissss is the stuff Integra, none of that pigs piss we've been drinking," he said mindlessly.  He turned to watch Integra as she watched the people in the bar and his thoughts wandered to their last mission together.   He was quickly shaken out of that thought along with the pangs of anxiety it brought with it, by the sound of his boss's voice.

Alucard sat quietly, sipping on his wine,  listening to Charlie and Integra talk.  The moment he heard Charlie call Integra, Teggy, he eyed his boss and gave him an "are you serious" look since he knew that he would be the one to take the brunt of the rebuttal... since Integra would never smack their boss, Charlie.

He didn't need to ask Charlie which FBI agent he wanted info on, he knew for a fact it was that pig that strutted around the place as if he was the one that owned it, Alucard didn't like the agent at first sight... His walk and mannerisms reminded Alucard of someone from his past that he very strongly disliked. He gave a grunt before confirming with his boss, "Soooooooo, you're saying we can't make this FBI agent squeal like the pig he is?"

He didn't even wait for a reply before speaking again, "That's too bad, could’ve been fun. Just like those nice long walks I always enjoy taking."  Alucard finished saying with a grin on his face and sparkle in his fiery amber eyes, while taking another drink of his wine.
Alucard couldn’t help but laugh at the look his boss was giving him
. “Don’t worry boss man, we have contacts we can use that won't be remotely traceable back to Tops. It’s about time we call back home anyways”

He took a look back over at Integra, he could tell by the look in her eyes she was still steaming over being called “Teggy.”  Alucard swallowed hard, then gave a light shake to his head before finishing off his wine.  “Whatever will be will be, I suppose.” He thought to himself, knowing little would change what may or may not come of this.

"What the heck happened?"

Charlie stood across from his employee, Mortimer. Who had come to inform that the former two that he had enlisted to do the work of finding out information had disappeared, causing him to wonder what happened, but a shrug from Mortimer caused him to rub his forehead and think on what he could do now? He needed assistance, it was best that he handled this now, knowing that the feds were either involved or this agent was much more lethal than he let on. Either way, the other two had failed and fell on him to pick up the pieces.

"Call Nikita and JackWaltz, it's time to show these feds that we aren't scared of their bullshit."

Charlie looked at Morty with his eyes blazing, a darkness that one would never think him capable of had flashed in his eyes, he looked away. Mortimer taking that as dismissal had walked out of the office, leaving Charlie to his anger and his wondering thoughts of what could be done with this F.B.I Agent, he wanted to end this and he would do it the only way he knew how; cunning.

"You've played a fine game, my friend, now it is time for you to pay your debt and end up as another stepping down for this thing of ours, proving why we last forever..."

Charlie grinned maddeningly before throwing his head back and relaxing in his chair, a sigh escaping him and he thought about the arrival of his newest partners...

Jack was currently shacked up in the hotel room that he had been renting while he got settled in Philadelphia. As he looked out at the city from the sky rise building, he was able to see how the city comes alive. As Jack pulled a glass out from the bar that leaned against the wall beside his bedroom door, he was in a moment of rare peace since he had been a young teenager on the streets in Las Vegas. Jack poured himself a drink, setting it on the bar after taking a sip from the glass. A moment after he had set his drink down, he heard the phone ring, echoing throughout the room.

"Hello? Who is this?" Jack asked. When he heard the voice of Charlie__Pavanno's assistant, he knew that something was going on. Jack listened to his instructions carefully, "Yeah, I understand. Don't worry, I'm on my way now. Shouldn't be more than fifteen, twenty minutes tops."

Jack put his shirt back on, followed by quickly by putting his jacket on. As he walked to the door, he reached for his gun on the table, sliding it into his shoulder holster and then locked the door on his way out. He had far too much cash in his room to be leaving it unlocked for someone looking to make an easy score. He took the elevator rather than the stairs, dreading every time that the elevator had stopped to pick up anyone else on their way down to the lobby.

When he got down to the lobby, he walked out to the first cab he could see out the door. A man was attempting to get into it, but Jack grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back out of the car.

"I need this. Here, take this. The next cab is on me." Jack told the man, he handed him $300 and then got into the cab, making his way to meet with Charlie. As he pulled up to the front door, he could sense an uneasiness in the air, far different than the feeling of patrons losing money on a few games of poker.

"Boss, he's on the way, said he shouldn't be more than fifteen minutes, by any chance, do you that this Agent had anything to do with the last two? What if he got to them? What if he is just that dangerous, you could be fighting a battle that takes you down Bossman, just watch yourself out there brother."

Charlie sat at the head of the table once more, it had taken some time, yet he had finally gotten used to sitting here like a simple guy, only he was not that anymore. He knew that he had to be on the lookout for many things, it was who he was now, a Leader. Someone who was the boss and had to lead all these guys, these were the guys that looked to him, wanting him to take them up to the newest platform possible and he would do it. Every bone in his body had told him that he should take this chance and he would.

"Heh, Morty, perhaps I should be watching everyone, perhaps I should be something of a Joe Adonis and teach this guy in the ring, eh? That's not me and you know it. While I have trained myself in the brawling nature, I prefer using my mind, even now. Regarding the Officer and how he might be dangerous, he isn't. I got the feel of him, he has not played his games yet, or maybe he did. I don't know, all I do know is that he is a threat to our lifestyle, tell me when JackWaltz gets here, if Nikita arrives, send her through."

Mortimer nodded, leaving Charlie to stare ahead, at the opposite end of the table, as if staring down someone, yet no one sat in the seat opposite him. It was as vacant as the look in his eyes, something was happening, Charlie knew it. He just didn't know what, something was not sitting right with him...

The cab that delivered Jack to the building took it's time getting across town. He was very displeased with this, since he felt he may have gotten there faster if he had walked. As he got out of the car, he put his had on top of his head and then walked away from the car. This driver had done nothing to deserve a tip. It was rare that Jack would do this, but he felt slighted by the cab driver's antics.

Jack walked into the Casino lobby and straight to the front desk. As he approached, he could had the feeling that the uneasiness in the air was absolutely what he felt earlier. There was surely something amiss about today's call into the office.

"Jack Waltz. I got a call to come meet here. Could you please phone up to the office to let him know that I have arrived." Jack directed the gentleman at the desk. He spoke in a lowered tone and once he had finished talking, turned to look over the casino floor. It was then that he spotted someone walking through the floor that didn't belong. Brushing it off as another gambler, he kept to himself for the time being. Surely whatever he had been called here for was more pressing than a random casino patron.
