The Life and Rise of an Outlaw: Pressure Started by: Charlie__Pavanno on Dec 05, '18 04:55

'There is this pressure, a weight that settles on your shoulders, it seems like the entire world is at your fingertips, yet, you are also carrying the entire world on your shoulders. Only the pressure comes from the people underneath you, your Right and Left seats are occupied by those you trust. Yet you turn to the table and see two others, two others who look to you for that guidance and the tiny voice in your head whispers with such caution, Can you do this? And automatically, you answer, Yes'

- Charles Peterson

You wonder, you whisper, and you listen. You always wondered, could you be The King? You always whispered you couldn't. You always listened to your superior saying that you have a bright future in this business, we call, family. I sit where my predecessor sat and I have to wonder, did he feel this pressure? When we were drinking, smoking, and having our nightly desires with women, did he ever think like this? I have wondered this many times.

Only I cannot ask him now and that is one regret, the pressure of being King, compared to being his simple Advisor was something that I would not get over. Being one of his trusted people was different from being the one that people look at, that people would respect. You are automatically their voice, leader, and representative in matters concerning them. You are the one that looks out for them and they look out for you because now you sit in the seat.

You look out to these people, and you wonder, can you lead them into the never-ending sunset that we crave? Or is a bullet destined for your head, before you can even reach the dream? It's something we all wonder, yet, know that it's not possible, the peace and sunset that we want, well, it's not forever and nothing lasts forever. I once soared on wings of gold, yet now, the dice is in my hand, and wherever it rolls, is where I take my family.

I sit where my Predecessor sat and wonder, did the winds ever blow in his favor? Did the winds ever let him soar above the rest? I can no longer ask him, It's my roll of the dice and I will lead them into the sunset, one way or another, I will lead them into that never-ending peace that we all crave, that we all want.
