A Night On The Town Started by: Jordan on Jan 26, '08 19:47
It was a cold night in Chicago when Jordan was standing on the roof of a building a few blocks away from State Street to plan a robbery. The street below was cluttered with cars and people going to into a club. Every time the door to the club opened Jordan heard the music from inside. It sounded like an upbeat swing band. Too fast, Jordan thought. She preferred slower music like quiet jazz bands, but the fast loud music in the club music would be a good distraction for what she had planned.

As people went in the club Jordan noticed a familiar car stop. The driver got out and opened the back door of the car. As soon the man in the back got out Jordan recognized him. He was the owner of the club. He was smiling at the young woman on his arm as Jordan looked down at them. He had no idea by the end of the night he would be broke. A big smile crept on Jordan's face as she thought about how to get the job done.

The club made millions of dollars every night from gamblers. The job would be a good pay day for Jordan and her associates, but what she wanted more than the money was what the club owner kept in his safe.

A noise on the roof startled Jordan. She glanced over her shoulder and saw Sao walking towards her. Jordan turned around with a smile to talk to him.

Hi Sao, did you pay off the bouncers? Some of our people will be in the club soon. I don't want them thrown out before we get started.

Sao looks at Jordan with a serious face.

Of course I paid off the bouncers. What do you think I am? A slacker?

Sao smiles at his friend and giggles a little bit.

Yes I did pay them off. The only thing we have to worry about is how we get into the owners office. I was thinking just shooting our way in, but I don't think that'll make for a great idea.

Sao lights up a cigarette

Got any ideas?
Report Post Tip
I'd love to shoot our way in there too. It would be the fastest way to get things done, but it's too messy. When the band plays their last set of the night our people will cause a few distractions then we'll get in the owner's office. Don't worry.

Jordan looked down at the crowded street below one more time. She noticed a police car on the corner, but she wasn't worried about it. The police men on duty tonight were on the State Street Mob's payroll.

Sao, let's go. I want to get a seat at one of the high roller black jack tables before it gets too crowded in there.
Report Post Tip
Sao smiles in confidence that this job will go smoothly.

Alright let's go!

Sao grabs Jordan's hand and skips merrily to the steps to get back down to the street.

You don't mind skipping do you? Hehehe.

A cool breeze swept past Pericolo as she stepped out of the car. A very handsom man quickly blocked the chill even before it could crawl up her body. He offered his hand, smiling and led her through the crowd of photographers. A street noise from behind them let Pericolo look up at the roof quickly spotting Jordan. She smiled to herself and was led into the club.

Let me take your coat for you doll.

Her escort motioned as he reached towards her collar, loosening the coat off her slender shoulders.

Oh yes! Pericolo said helping him remove her coat. I guess I'm still a little dazed at all those flashes.

Setting her coat on a counter and exchanging it for number he turned back to her. He gave her a wide smile and a deep chuckle.

Of course, you forget you your with? He joked to her and she giggled. Half those people out there I pay, need to make this place look hot. Doll you'll be on all the newspapers in the morning and I wouldn't have it any other way with a face like that.

She blushed at the comment and let him lead her farther into the club. He ordered her a drink and she took it eagerly as her nerves of the night were catching up to her.

Hey doll, I've gotta go talk to some guys about business. He grinned at her. I'll let you in on a little secret. If everything goes smoothly tonight I'll be opening up another club in New York.

With that he left Pericolo sitting pretty at the bar.

Gambler enters the club and looks around. He thinks to himself: Hmm nice place... its a shame I'm not here to hit the tables, I'd have a great time.

He looks around for the owner and his girl and finally finds them. He waits untill the owner leaves and sits next to the girl. He thinks to himself: Jordan better thank me for this.

Hey baby hows it going. How'd you like to come home with a winner? Let me buy you a drink.

A hand tapped Pericolo on the shoulder while sleezy words fell out of the intruders mouth. She was very close to turning around giving this man a slap to the face, but held knew she couldn't make a scene till later. Pericolo gently turned in her chair.

Sir if you'd please remove....

She trailed off instantly recognizing the face.

G! Wow it's so good to see you.

Pericolo smiled and leaned in to give him a light hug.

Next time you decide you want to pick me up please choose a night that Captain isn't already paranoid. She pointed a finger across the room and giggled. If anyone noticed they would just think she was gossiping. It took me two days to convince him I'd be fine alone with another man.

Assassin enter's the club and takes a seat just as The-Gambler approaches Pericolo.

Assassin walks over to the The-Gambler and turns him around, trust me young man. This lady is too much for you.

Hand's him a ciggarett

Smoke that and think over how to pick women up better

Gambler looks at the guy in front of him. He thinks: hmm guess it isn't a good time yet. I don't see everyone here yet. He takes the cigarrete from the guy and lights it.

Hey whats wrong with a guy wanting a little company. Particularly a pretty little thing like that. But since everyone is so uptight here, I guess I'll be seeing you around babe.

Walks to a nearby table, smokes his cigarrette and waits

Although it was the first time Jordan was in the club she already knew the layout and where all the exits were thanks to blueprints from one of her associates. With Sao at her side she walked into the club like she owned the place and casually looked around as they walked past the bar. Just as planned The-Gambler was flirting with Pericolo, the club owner's date for the evening.

I wonder where TheCaptain is. I haven't seen him, have you?

Jordan and Sao chatted as they walked to the back of the club where a bouncer Sao paid off earlier let them into one of the private gambling rooms. It took Jordan a moment to adjust her eyes to the dark and smoky room, but once she got a clear look around she found a seat at one of the black jack tables. As soon as she sat down Jordan started checking out the other players at the table.

Sao takes a seat next to Jordan at the blackjack table and lights up a cigarette. He offers one to Jordan and she politely declines. He takes out his wallet and gets a little bit of money out for he and Jordan to gamble with.

This ought to be pretty fun.

As he waits for the table to get started he looks down and checks his side to make sure he has his gun just incase anything gets out of order. He looks to Jordan and smiles as he thinks of what they will soon be doing and how rich they will become.

Shedao stood beside the blackjack table quietly surveying the backroom and it's occupants. He noticed both Jordan herself and Sao at another blackjack table as well as all the unknown gamblers hanging around. He had to agree with Jordan on this one; renting himself out as muscle to one of the high rollers for the night was a brilliant idea. It got him inside with his piece and not only did no one stop him him, but he was supposed to have it! All he had to do when the distractions started up was drive his charge into the owner and his little buddies and keep them tied up for as long as possible. Piece of cake. No one would ever know just how much this event had been planned.

Emoori slowly walked up to the group and smiled. It was nice to see the family especially while doing so much work alone. It was nice to do something together for a change, but she was unsure exactly what. She knew to be here and to be ready to work. The others seemed to still be waiting on more people which was fine. Emoori would wait as long as needed.

It's nice to see you all. If I haven't met you before I'm Emoori.

Walks over to the-gambler and smokes a ciggarette and begins to talk

Sorry sir, I think I'm lost... hmmm yeah. She's a good girl go get her champ.

Just as Pericolo was greated again by her date Jordan and Sao passed behind his back. Pericolo noticed Jordan smirk at her as she was embraced with a hug and watched the two make their way back to the games.

So I'm guessing it went well?

Pericolo asked as a smile grew across the club owner's face.

It went fantastic. Drinks all around!

Everyone at the bar cheered and a hand fell to the small of Pericolo's back. Her date led her up where the big money was dropped. The area was on the second floor, which over looked the main floor. Pericolo noticed Shedao standing next to one of the black jack tables. She smiled to herself as everything was going to plan. Her date stopped at a craps table, put a good amount of money on his bet and leaned over and asked Pericolo to blow on his dice for luck. It was a good round, everyone around the table yelped as he won a large sum of money. People from the floor below looked up with excitment in their eyes. The club owner leaned over to Pericolo once again and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Lady luck have you ever been to New York City?

The noise of people cheering made Jordan look up from the cards in front of her. Across the room at the craps table Pericolo was doing a good job entertaining the club owner. Jordan knew she could always count on Pericolo to do well to with any job especially one that was a big deal like this one.

Another bust. I'm not doing very good with black jack tonight, Sao. Let's mingle around and check out the other games.

When Jordan stood up from the black jack table it was a signal to her associates to start the distractions that would help her and Sao sneak into the club owner's office.
Report Post Tip
Really?! Pericolo gasped at the offer in disguise. I'd love to go

Caught up in the excitment of the big win she eagerly gave him a hug. Someone called his name across the room and Pericolo jingled office keys behind her back as he looked away. This was the sign for Shedao to take action, she then dropped the keys into her clutch and turned her attention back to her date.

I think we need more drinks.

The owner left her side once again to get some more drinks, he passed Jordan on the stairs. Pericolo put her clutch in front of her on the table and looked away from it giving Jordan the chance to grab it.

Jordan walked past the craps table and quickly took the keys from Pericolo. As Sao followed Jordan towards the office the club filled with loud music of the band's last set of the night. If everything went as planned Jordan and her associates would be done with this job before the band was done with their last song.

I hope you're quick with the lock on the safe, Sao. Getting it open and taking what's in it is more important than anything else.

The Captain notices Peri point at him, which is the sign for him to head out to the car. He grabs his coat, and walks outside into the cold air. He looks around to make sure nobody's scoping him out, and then gets in the car for a few minutes, and starts thinking about doing this. He knows he's the best getaway driver out there, but he wants more. He puts his life on the line for every job like this, but he doesn't get any of the real action. Just once he'd like to actually be on the inside.

After sitting there for a few minutes, he realizes that he hasn't moved at all, and hurriedly starts the car up, and drives around the block, and to the back of the club. He gets out of the car, and waits at the back door just like always.

Once...just once The Captain'd like to get a bit of the real action...

Shedao heard a jingle and turned. He caught the signal from Pericolo and moved to act.

Sir, we need to go. You have a flight in the morning and you wanted to be rested for it. Well, we need to leave now.

Shedao leads his charge in the same direction that he saw the owner head, and caught up with them on the stairs. A skillful maneuvering of his foot sent one of the owner's associates crashing into his charge. Shedao immediately grabbed the man and flung him against the wall as he checked his charge. He then proceeded to make as large a scene as possible. After all, while the bouncers might approach, they wouldn't be over eager to begin an altercation with him, even if they hadn't been paid to avoid doing just that. He included not just the man whom he had tripped but the owner's fellow associates as well; demanding that they all wait until the police arrived to take a complaint of attempted robbery. This accomplished three goals: it kept the owner tied up, it kept any police away from the actual robbery, and it helped dispel any suspicion that might otherwise have been placed on the officers who had been paid off, thus retaining their usefulness.
