The Wilting Rose Started by: SophiaRossi on Dec 09, '18 14:30

Sophia had been working non stop for months getting ready for the grand opening of her restaurant. The Wilting Rose had been a dream of hers some time now and it was finally all coming together.

Months of reconstruction and renovation had gone on in this small cozy building she had purchased in Downtown Detroit and she had poured every ounce of energy into making sure everything was perfect.

The restaurant was dimly lit and hosted both booths and tables draped with white table cloths and glass etched designs covered the walls.

The light fixtures above each table held small chandeliers that hang slightly above the tables and a single candle and vase with a red rose sat at each spot.

It was the perfect spot for a romantic dinner for two or even a discreet business meeting between associates.

The menu held every Italian cuisine one could dream of and list of the finest wines. The waiters and Waitress wear black and white the men sporting ties and bow ties at their necks and the women dresses that flowed to their knees and some to their ankles.

As you walk in you are greeted by a hostess dressed in a elegant black dress who smiles so spectacularly you can't help but smile back.

How many will be in your party?  she asks as she grabs a handful of black menus for the table.

Upon entering Samuru had a quick glance around and thought to himself that this place was really something, it had a nice cosy romantic feel to it that made Samuru feel warm inside, maybe he should have invited someone along as this sort of place sitting by himself might make him look a little lonely.. but before Samuru could change his mind a young lady with the most attractive smile he had seen this side of Detroit approached him.

"Hello ma'am, table for one please.. I hope this is okay and there is room for just me".

The lady continued to smile and picked up a menu and assured Samuru there was a place for him tonight, as she led him to the table Samuru couldn't help but admire the dress she had on, it was black and looked real expensive, it just looked truly magnificent on her, as they approached the table the lady placed the menu down and told Samuru she would be back in a moment to get his order.

While he chose Samuru nervously looked around, he could see lot's of couples and groups having a great time but nobody else was here alone but without much time passing the hostess was back and still carrying that wonderful smile she asked him what he would be having.

"Can I have a glass of white wine and for my meal i'd like a lasagne please."

Whilst Samuru waited for his order he sat and took in all the delicious smells making their way around the restaurant which made him even hungrier and couldn't help but tap his feet nervously and fidget with the rose that had been placed in the vase on his table.

A waitress rushed into the kitchen with an order for one and Poured a single glass of white wine. Sophia had just stepped in from her office and took the glass from her hand.

I'll handle this one Katy. She said as she grabbed a fresh bowl of french bread for the table. The butter was still hot and melting on the bread as she pushed through the swinging kitchen door with her hip .

Bread in one hand and wine in the other she approached the table and the face that greeted her looked some what familiar and she was almost certain she recognized the patron she just couldn't put her finger on where from.

Here is your wine and some bread while you wait for your lasagna sir. she said as she sat down the glass and bowl and smiled at the man at the table.

Charlie entered The Wilting Rose, looking to enjoy some fine Italian cuisine, already hearing great reviews of this one restaurant in Detroit and knew that he had to truly devour this food whole, considering that it was said to be the absolute best that people had to offer. He smiled before he entered, he wore his classic leather jacket and burgundy business shirt with black slacks, with white oxfords, he motioned for a waiter to guide him over to a table.

The Wilting Rose seemed to become quiet with his presence, but he paid that no mind, knowing that he was here on pleasure, considering he barely had enough to even enjoy that nowadays. He smirked before sitting down, noticing that the waiter seemed to be looking at him with fear shining in his eyes. Charlie lightly coughed, not wanting the man to be worried, or even frightened in his presence. He hated that reputation, he was nothing if not the occasional forceful person, but that was when people did not see the error of their ways, he thought with a smirk.

"I'll take Spaghetti and Carbonara sauce, for a drink, I'll have some white wine, Riesling, dry."

He stated with a smile, before he held up his hand, his eyes holding some odd compassion, he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a fifty, placing it in the Waiter's hand with a smile. He waited for his meal before he looked around and enjoyed the place, he could come back here and talk with the owner, a SophiaRossi, by what he had heard. He soon smelt his food and his mouth seemed to water as it got closer to him, he soon did a small prayer, before he dug into his meal and enjoyed what he assumed was made by the goddess Demeter herself.

He stood up after he finished, walking towards the door and looked to the waiter, with a toothy smile.

"Inform SophiaRossi that her meal and restaurant are excellent, I shall be stopping by again soon, perhaps on business, we shall see."

With this, Charlie walked out of The Wilting Rose, into the streets of Detroit once again.

Luckies had been missing mamma's food lately. His most recent visit to Detroit shown him a recently open Italian restaurant, with a lovely decor that reminded his weary mind of a piece of home he thought to be long lost. He walked inside and was eagerly greeted by a waiter, who sat him down in a lovely corner table and handed him a menu. He went for the full meal and ordered some Antipasto and two dishes. He was impressed as he saw he could actually grab some Breasola in the style his mamma used to make. He was slightly homesick, but feeling good about himself.

As the Bruschetta arrived, Luckies was excited to taste everything he had ordered. However as he got il primo, he figured he had probably ordered to much food. It was his own fault, but he was a sucker for Antipasto. His nostalgic mind made him tear up a little, thinking about early family evenings, lounging at the dinner table for ours, loudly talking about the field and the farm. His mind went mostly to his beloved mamma, but he still had fondness for his father, despite him being a strict figure in his early years.

As he was done with the second dish, he decided not to go overboard on dessert. He had an apple and then some simple cookies, completely skipping cheese and cake. A shot of expresso did him well, topping off the aftertaste of red wine nicely. He then paid the bill and moved back to his car ,where he kept a flask of amaro for meals like this.

He was full, and he'd be sure to talk about this place to any friends looking for a proper Italian meal. Maybe even bring some friends over for a nice meal. He had to check with WilliamWalker, maybe he wanted to have a crew gathering.

Frank entered the wilting rose but no one was around to seat him, he yelled hello and a few staff members looked at him like he was crazy.  Frank lit a cigarette and walked in taking a seat in the middle of the place.  He looked around then looked at his watch to mark time.  He would wait a few minutes before leaving.  He didn't like waiting when he was hungry.

Frank called a staff member over and ask what's with the service in this joint that's when Frank was given the news.  Frank nodded and understood.  He arose from his chair and walked past a tip jar that was empty.  He placed several hundred dollars in the jar as these folks were about to go home empty handed with mouths to feed.  Frank shook his head as he realized a soft hearted gangster could end up a dead mug laying on these streets.
