So it finally happened, for one of the stupidest reasons possible, Alexander Knight is dead. Many things might be revealed in the days to come regarding the events that led up to his demise. Ridiculous though they may seem, they are probably true. The womanizer died for his womanizing ways. Though there were many stories he still would have told, and though the reasons behind his death were mind-numbingly idiotic, how many of us can claim that they died the way they lived. But enough rambling, on to the challenge. The idea is to beat the two major accomplishments that Alexander Knight achieved which even if done before, have to be incredibly rare. 1. Live 231 days without employing even a single bodyguard and without even owning a gun.
Now obviously this would not appeal to many people, but to those crazy few that find some adventure in the idea, I bid good luck. |

Slow claps. You forgot to mention the part where you would send other city leaders mails to not shoot you in a war for payment and promise of not acting against them no matter what your leaders ask weasel. Enjoy your rest, mate. Glad to outfit the boots for ya. |

I mean.... at first glance it would seem like Owen is talking shit here. But really he's not. You did go from crew to crew to crew, asking to not get made and not wanting any part in a lot of the game. You just ranked and wrote which came in handy but to succeed in this challenge you really have to sit there and not be of use to your family when they need you the most, when their lives on the line. If people can live like that, more power to you but I can't sit there and watch as my friends and family are cut down just to keep a character alive to write. And I have no beef with you btw. Just don't really see this as a good challenge or much of a challenge either. |

Itachi, many of us have had a lot of runs and played the game differently in most of those runs. There are also a lot of people who do the same thing every time, over and over again. What I did was try to attempt an approach I had never taken before. A non-violent one. From the outside, it is easy to assume that all I did was sit by idly while my families were butchered, but the truth is never quite so simple is it? There is more than one way to contribute to a family. You of all people should know that I invested a lot of time, money and effort during peace. It is easy to assume that I was being a weasel when in reality, all of my CLs were aware of my neutrality before I joined and decided to accept me regardless. It is easy to assume that I harassed GFCs with requests for clemency. Yet, none of them objected because I wasn't begging for mercy, I was negotiating neutrality at the cost of credits and none of the city leaders who accepted found any fault in it. It is easy to assume I was backstabbing my family, but I never abandoned them in the middle of a war. I'm not even going to get into any of the events, competitions, sponsorships, collaborations I helped orchestrate for promoting RP because this challenge, and it is a challenge, is not about that. The idea, my old friend is to play in a non-violent manner for one run, trusting not in guns or bgs but business acumen and diplomacy. To do something radically different from the norm, to experiment, to explore, to innovate. Like I said, this challenge will not appeal to many and I understand their perspective. It might seem despicable to many and that is understandable, but assuming replicating this is easy will be a gross simplification. |

Whoa whoa... A lot of misunderstanding. I don't mean to disrespect the challenge and if people wanna do it more power to them and respect to what you did. I can't speak to how you spoke to opposing GF's, I wasn't there to see it nor was I ever an opposing leader that negotiated with you. So I won't speak on matters I know nothing about. I do however know that you pulled your fair share of weight and your posting enabled vision to a city as well which helped. I'm just saying more times than not, writers who are only writers are left alone especially if they're unmade and don't keep guns and what not. I'm all for non violence and man you know what? If this challenge is what you wanna hop behind I wish you the best of luck I'm just pointing out that if you're not training a gun and just writing and won't take made it's not like the hardest thing in the world to do ya know? Also if being neutral is the way to achieve this than you have to admit then when your families lives are on the line you have to sit out. If you pro you die, if you spot you die and if you shoot you die so that leaves you being on the sidelines. If that's how you choose to live it's your choice and like you said you made it known from the beginning and they took you in anyway, just stating many people may not wanna sit idly by while those close to them are fighting for survival to prove they can move around. I know I wouldn't want those who claim they have love for me to wanna put their own survival above that of us all. That's just me though personally but nothing but respect to you I just respectfully disagree. |

Is it really an accomplishment when you transferred between two allied cities and didn't do much of anything other than write? I think in this day and age, it isn't much of anything. And to also mention I don't remember you using your gun a single time during any conflicts and talking to your father about it, was like pulling teeth. Good for you on what you think are accomplishments. I think the real people who helped you reach these should be praised because they kept you alive. |

Well from the outside looking in.... Yes it is very easy to say you sat idly by while your family(lies) were being butchered. What else is there to say about that? You refused to carry a gun. Refused to help out to save any single member of each family you were in, so I am confused to how this is anything else other than sitting idly by ...while they got butchered. You were saved due to monetary means, so it makes me question where the loyalty was to any leader or family you were in. Sure each new CL might have been aware of the 'neutrality' you had to offer, but in crunch time, I've no clue why being a sideline roleplayer was something to be proud of while the people around you were dying. "Easy to assume backstabbing" and "never abandoned in the middle of a war".....No you might not have technically abandoned (til the slaughter of your family was over), but you still did Nothing to help them survive and just sat there watching the death toll rise higher and higher, so isn't that pretty close to abandoning? I mean if you wanna sit there and feel accomplished, proud, or whatever that's fine, and in the end you have to live with your own actions, so to each their own. |

Rob, I feel like I've been over this, I didn't use a gun because I didn't have one. Madeline was aware of that before she invited me. I do seem to recall offering all the financial assistance necessary to rebuild, something which you acknowledged. Itachi, I agree with pretty much most of what you said. Hell my previous best when I did the 'normal' thing was 40 some days. I know I'm not talented enough to hold any power. I know this challenge won't appeal to many and I understand that fully. I'm not here to gloat or claim my way is superior to anyone else. The original post simply intended to state that fir whatever reason I managed to accomplish it, it is rare. Regardless of whether people view it in a good light or not I know what I achieved and I am happy with it. If someone, another representative of the minority who wishes to try something radically different from the norm wants to replicate it, I wish them good luck. I look forward to reading more about them after I'm back from vacation. |

You're right. I said send any money you have to Madeline after the fact you said you had no gun and planned on not using it. I believe you said "maybe" when I asked in case of an absolute emergency if we needed it. You were literally providing no other assistance in keeping our city alive during those times. Good job though jumping from crew to crew and bragging about it as an accomplishment. Too bad we as leaders let it happen so often. Seriously, wheres the loyalty? |

My loyalty was always with the streets, with the writers. The only aspect of the game I love is the roleplay and that is what I focussed on. I started writing competitions, promoted businesses, sponsored newspapers, initiated cross city storylines. Helped foster a culture of Roleplay in other cities when it seemed like one city would assume total hegemony of the rankings. But of course, none of that matters because I was Switzerland during the World Wars. I implore you not to let your perceptions colour what I said. I did not brag about jumping from crew to crew, I simply stated that the objective for this particular challenge is to reach the top spot in as many colours as possible, take whatever path you feel is suitable, I am not one to judge. My own path has been crooked enough. Just for the record, I spent over a month in every crew. It's not like I jumped at the first chance I got to leave. Never, never did I leave in the middle of a war. |

We should add "The Troubadour Challenge" to the achievements. Reward can be 0.25 credits and some experience. Jokes aside well done. It looks extremely tough to top it, good luck whoever wants to try. |
