Without his usual theatrics and swagger, Vicky's partner was pretty decent. If she just looked past the half-smile, half-smirk that he seemed to always put on his stupid face, at least he knew when to shut up. Vicky was taking control of the situation, doing things just how she liked it, without hesitation or reserve. She sat in the passenger seat of a long narrow truck - and when opening the back, one would find wooden cargo boxes of drugs. Yep. They just performed a drug bust. Totally illegal and all. "Well thanks for that. You almost forgot about me back there." Vicky let out an exhausted sigh, throwing her jacket off, relieved of the fresh air that the open window was providing. "Yeah, yeah. Calm down princess. I didn't forget you though. You're here. Right?" "Shut up, yeah?" She let her right arm rest on her side window, the left rested in her lap. Her partner didn't know it, but not even a few minutes passed of them being in the same truck together and she was already getting irritated. Just as she was starting to think of him in a positive light, he has to mess his own reputation up. Of course. I mean, who fucking forgets about their partner in crime? Vicky thought to herself. It might have been a petty thing to get mad over. That's understandable. People forget things all the time. She let it go for now, frustration still evident in her body language, and ignored him for the rest of the trip back to The MR Cartel headquarters. Thank goodness that she only had to work with him temporarily, and that it wasn't permanent, because she knew that the more time she would be spending with him, it wouldn't be long before she would listen to her urges and punch him straight in the jaw. That was Vicky for you. Uncensored and easily angered. Thinking about the humble and safe environment of the HQ, anywhere else if it meant getting away from her forgetful and totally-not-focused partner, Vicky was relieved, in fact, ecstatic, when she clocked the familiar front doors of the family building. She clicked off her seatbelt in a hurry, lightly jogging over to the back of the truck, before yelling out at - Fuckface, his new nickname - to help her with the drugs. It wasn't long before-- Fuckface groaned lazily from his seat. It was quite loud, seeing as Vicky was standing literally at the back of the truck while he was in the front, and embarrassed her for a moment. She checked around her in a paranoid manner, hoping no one would see how unhelpful her parter was. Vicky, about to burst in anger and pull out an imaginary AK-47 so she can start shooting him with it, he quickly stepped out of his seat in the truck and raised his hands in mock defeat. There was something very satisfying about seeing him do that, as if he got caught doing something he wasn't supposed to do. "Are you going to help me or are we going to be stuck in this position forever, where I do everything and you stand by and watch?" She muttered angrily, her eyes staring daggers into his. Finally, he caved in and helped her with the heavy cargo. Bags of pure cocaine were inside these boxes. And it made her happy. Very, very happy. Quite truthfully, she just wanted to stand here and watch herself, and admire the amount of money that all of this was worth. If she could really have everything her way, and if she wasn't associated with a family, she would take it all for herself. However, she does have an agreement with the guy, and it would be so rude of her to just take not only her share - but his too. Rude. That seems familiar, doesn't it? Like how he almost left her at the rival family's HQ with a gun in her hands, which, for the record - ran out of bullets. Yeah. That was rude. So if he had left her there, she would probably be too late to escape, and probably be killed by one of the rival family members. Fuckface would be dead too though. Rafa surely would not be happy, right? To learn that one of the people he assigned on a mission, abandoned their partner, and that partner being a member of his family. Shit would go down for sure. But anyways, she had to be a little less bitter and more grateful that he hadn't REALLY forgotten about her. Vicky was still angry though. At least thinking of the money that this cocaine would bring in for Rafa managed to banish the memories of those events. She grabbed her jacket from the front after seeing that all the boxes were finally brought to the front. Even though Fuckface's work ethic was close to being abysmal, she still wanted to praise his efforts. So that's exactly what she did. In a very condescending manner, though. "Thank you so much for everything today, really. No.. Seriously. And-- like, I am so amazed by you. Because how do you even put up with your own lazy, incoherent and smug attitude for so long? It's breathtaking. For real. Anyways - you did great out there. But you can do better than that. See ya, pal. Was fun while it lasted." She gave him one last look, the look you give to someone after a dramatic break-up almost, and walked away. Headed straight for the HQ. That would be the last time, hopefully, that she'd be seeing him again and dealing with his laziness. Knowing her luck though, she wasn't counting on it. With all that pushed aside, being inside of the headquarters was like a small victory, like the finish line to a long race, and she came back not only a winner but a survivor - after being partnered with one of the worst people she's ever had to work with before. Vicky had done drug busts before, although the quantity to quality ratio was very low, so it was amazing just how much her and her partner got. Seeing Rafa caused warmth to spread over her body. She went over to him, in a good attitude, and pointed her thumb to the boxes outside. "Boss, we scored huge. Take a look for yourself!" There was a passionate tone in her voice as she spoke, and she was maybe.. Just a bit... Seeking validation for her hard work. Her hands now at her sides trembled in anticipation. She just wanted him to know that, all of this, was for the family. She can be a little selfish when she wants to be, but at the end of the day, being in a family meant she had to really do everything in their name and not just do things for personal gain. Well that was her opinion. She wasn't quite sure of Fuckface. Vicky smiled enthusiastically as she began to walk with him back outside, unable to control her giddy legs so he could see what all the hype was about. "But um.. where do we put all this now?" She raised a questioning eyebrow. |

Rafa was busy counting through some recent cash brought to him by one his trusted family members, Miss_Niki. He could always count on her to bring in cash weekly and keep other family members in line. She knew her way around the mafia world and was quite the gangster herself. He didn't expect much from the lower ranked family members overall so when they came around with large quantities of cash he was quite intrigued. That was when Vicky came in through the HQ doors with a fuck ton of cocaine. Usually, Rafa had been passed the actual physical drug itself. He was used to the product already being turned into cash and the cash just being brought to him directly. After all, it's a lot hard for cops to charge you with possession of cash than it is to charge you with possession of narcotics. Either way, Rafa appreciated the effort Vicky had put into bringing it to the HQ to make some profit. Now he was tasked with figuring out what to do with a fuck ton of cocaine sitting smack dab in the middle of his headquarters. He sent for Miss_Niki, she'd know what to do with it and how to turn it over quickly. However, in the meantime, it would probably be best to hide it in the basement. He called over a couple of wise guys from the family to do the heavy lifting. Meanwhile, he brought Vicky to his office to discuss her future within the family. "Vicky, I gotta say. Bringing in a bunch of coke into my HQ was a really stupid move. I should really just have Miss_Niki take you out back and put a bullet in your skull. However, I actually see a future for you in this world. And to be fair, it takes a lot of cojones to do what you did and pull it off. That being said, don't bring cocaine in my HQ again. Bring cash. Overall, I'm quite pleased. After all, you could have easily taken the coke somewhere else, sold it, and pocketed the money. The fact that you didn't shows quite a bit of loyalty to the family. We need more of that around these parts. Keep it up and you'll get made one day." Rafa sent Vicky to tag along with Miss_Niki, so she could learn how to turn cocaine into what really matters in this world of ours...money. |

She held her breath, listening to Rafa give her what almost sounded like a scolding, although she was grateful for his guidance as she goes on with her journey as a female mafia mobster. His words earned a nod from Vicky, impacting her in such a way that she was determined to get everything right next time. Quite simply, in her defence - it was a rookie mistake. The chair she was sitting on across from Rafa in his office was comfortable, making her relax more, and she started contemplating her future before she spoke again. "Hey, the day I stepped foot inside your headquarters I told myself that everything I do will be for the family's benefit, not just mine. So your words really mean so much. But damn, I am pretty fucking grateful I didn't get punished today for my rookie mistake." She admitted, taking a long breath in and out, shaking her head in a sarcastic manner. At least, her boss could take a joke, unlike the previous managers she had. They weren't exactly what you call mob bosses, but they really had a big ego that got in the way of their successes. With Rafa now promoted as the Godfather of Summerlin, Vicky had no space for doubt, that he would achieve many more things in his time. She stood up, offering her hand for a handshake, smiling wholeheartedly before walking out the door with smug satisfaction about her achievements. Upon closing Rafa's door behind her, she decided to check on the other members of the family. Vicky who was still trying to work her ass off as an associate, felt quite out of place when she met up with everyone else - Niki, Saitama who was just about ready to set up and leave to his new establishment, Sigolwide, Necropede, Savannah, and many more. She didn't know where the others were; maybe hanging out at some eating joint or something, who knows? There were a lot of eating joints around the city, Vicky having just recently visited Exquisite's Heart and Soul restaurant, who she knew came from HandsomeRob's family. Speaking of food, Vicky decided to announce she would be making more of her iconic vanilla cupcakes. She always spread lemon icing on them when they were done, topped with a cherry or two for decoration - it was great. She baked them yesterday actually for the celebration of Rafa becoming Godfather, Niki stepping up as right hand and Saitama getting authed. After Vicky stayed a bit to chat with everyone, offering hugs and smiles, jokes and banter, she went ahead to another part of the headquarters - the kitchen area. In here, she would whip up a delicious storm of sweet treats. She was not a savoury kind of gal, not really interested in making savoury stuff, but loved to eat it. That's why Exquisite's Heart and Soul was her favourite! Moments later, the cupcakes were done. And the smell travelled wonderfully from the kitchen area into the main lounging area. Hopefully everyone could tell it was Vicky's famous vanilla cupcakes. She made sure to get everything right, from the amount of ingredients she put in to how many sprinkles were used. Even amounts, of course. While Vicky left the cupcakes to cool on the stove, she came back to where everyone was and happily announced that if anyone was hungry, they could go grab a bite. "Cupcakes everyone!" She pointed her thumb over her shoulder to the kitchen. Vicky had already allowed for her appetite to be satisfied by bacon and eggs earlier at this new breakfast parlour she was visiting, right before she had to meet up with Fuckface and she felt amused seeing him annoyed with her actions. As if having breakfast was a crime! There was one thing for sure, it definitely it wasn't worse than him being lazy and incompetent. She huffed and puffed on her way back to Rafa's office, desperately trying to get rid of him from her mind, and she reached the door finally. Giving it a few knocks, careful not to knock too loud, she waited for a response from her boss so she could come in. She wasn't going to be in there for long, just wanted to ask if he needed anything else done, like some errands for today that he had no time to do himself. When she finally got the say so, Vicky clicked the door open, slowly making the small gap bigger so she could see his whole face. Vicky tilted her head, smiling. "Hey uh.. Boss?" She pursed her lips together as her eyes gazed upon the large stack of paperwork on his desk, wondering how on earth would he be able to finish completing that in such a short amount of time. Vicky thought of herself as someone who was very empathic and caring in nature, so she delighted in completing tasks for him so a little more weight was pushed off his shoulders. Vicky didn't mind anyway. "If you need anything done today that hasn't been done yet, I don't mind doing them for ya. I looked on the jobs board for the associates earlier. Finished everything I needed to do. How about that security plan you were working on? I could secure the deal for you. I'm good with words." She leaned against the doorframe, one hand holding on the door knob and she tried to read his behaviour. Vicky nodded. She was happy to do it, as long as it was keeping Rafa happy and Vicky busy, she would try to get it done in no time. But first, she had to do a little research on how this bodyguard service operates. She wanted to make sure the family was getting maximum and top notch security. There was no room for half measures, especially when she made herself the one accountable for everyone's safety. Vicky just could not afford a fuck up. So first, she went out into the streets. It was better than going to the library facilities. People were brutally honest out here, which Vicky appreciated very much, a breath of fresh air from the lie she's been living. Her silly part-time job days were over with Vicky putting herself down, believing that she was the worst of the worst, when in fact - her life was only just beginning. There was always a group of mobsters that hang around, not far from the headquarters, but Vicky did have to take a twenty minute walk to get to them. It was a breeze though. She needed some fresh air, to clear her mind from the chaotic energy she put out into world today. Back to these particular group of mobsters though, they were her closest contacts. One thing they all had in common - growing up in the hood. It wasn't an easy life, for them, and for Vicky too. But she happened to be one of the lucky ones to escape that kind of lifestyle. Whenever she would pass by them, which were beginning to be a rare occurrence now since the place she was renting was somewhere else, the mobsters would engage her in conversation. Everyone knew each other, all grew up in the same neighbourhood with the same kind of attitude. Ruthless, bastard-y and relentless in the face of conflict. But they were friendly to those they knew best. That was Vicky for them. Someone they knew best. And today - she was seeking help on who would be the best person or company to approach for executive protection. |
