I would really enjoy it if the current Trivia Bot was changed to something that works better. The questions are often badly worded (spelling and grammar mistakes), don't make sense or have 1-2 letter answers given away by the hint. On top of that, the current bot's creator/developer has stopped supporting it for a good while now.
A small sample of bad questions:
Honestly, I don't think the people holding the high scores would care much about them being reset, but their input in this thread is most welcome since they've obviously played a lot with this bot. |

This is all Jono 's fault. 00:36 <ChanServ> Information for channel #trivia: 00:36 <ChanServ> Founder: Jono 00:36 <ChanServ> Description: for trivia I'm sure I actually gave Izzy the trivia files of a slightly different format, where the hints wouldn't be _ but *, easier to count. Also I think this is the score you need to beat: 00:38 <TriviaBot> Current Round: Angelo_Lagusa[MR]-349 Whoreable[MR]-201 Aurelio[MR]-170 Cressida[MR]-88 Toby-[MR]-81 Yokai[MR]-60 II[MR]-48 Not_Kerry[MR]-43 BendOver[MR]-42 Badb[MR]-40 A_PhillipDent[MR]-33 blasian-28 CookieDealer-24 Night_King[MR]-18 Skadoodle[MR]-16 (Questions correct) |

So I spoke a bit more with BendOver and the scores he's referring to are: https://trivia.mafiareturns.com/ They do seem very old, don't they? :p |

Hey now, once I had used and abused that sex... I mean trivia bot enough. I took away its hubcaps and left it on Izzy's door step, rang the bell, and ran off. His problem now! I just maintain control of the actual channel. Don't make me come in there and kick ye! |

I would love to replace the questions with better ones, but frankly they are severely outside of our budget. I have scoured the internet and assembled about 50,000 questions - if it is free and can be found on the internet then its in our database. That is actually the problem. The solution is to spend a few thousand to get professionally done and filtered questions from one of the trivia database companies - this is severely outside of our budget though. Every free source that I looked at is completely full of errors and issues because they too are an assembled mess from other free sources. I can't justify spending a few thousand on questions, nor do I have the hundreds of hours required to go through and do a cursory glance at our current questions :( I am very open to suggestions though, if anyone has any solutions they can put forward I am all ears. I love trivia, and I care about it, but fixing the questions problem is a lot more difficult than 'find some new questions' :) |
