It had not been very long since Billy had been made into what he was today. He looked out the window of his office in the HQ to the rainy Detroit weather. It sucked. He let out a breath he wasn't sure how long he had been holding in as he closed his eyes to the outside rainy grey world.

Today was going to be the day he started to properly prove himself. Maybe he already had to everyone else, but not to himself. Not yet.

He finished his glass of beer and set it down, then opened his office door and made his way downstairs.

The other members of the crew were already trickling in. Bob-The-Butcher was hard at work in the kitchens getting something ready. Billy just hoped it wasn't sausages again. He had been on a sausage kick lately. They were good, but Billy liked a little more variety.

MilesMorales was sure to be hanging around somewhere, and he thought he had seen Eye just a minute ago. No matter.

He cleared his throat.

"Alright folks, listen up. it's time we came together as a unit and did something unexpected and just a bit more than lucrative for everyone involved. I've got a couple of ideas, but I'd like to hear some suggestions from you folks too over dinner here that Bob so graciously cooked for us."

He gestured to seats around the table and watched as some of the other members took seats and began to eat.

Quite disappointed with the welcome his last batch of sausages had recieved, Bob needed some succes. And as everyone knows succes is counted in dollar bills. Rigth now Billy was drumming up the crew to go do some work and bring the jam and honey home for the daily bread and Bob sure as hell wanted to be part of that. Sadly he was as empty headed as usual. But knowing himself he went out in the yard and picked up a chicken. A swift swoop of the axe left its head lying on the ground and the body running aimlessly around. Blood always made his thougths come together.  He went over to Billy and grabbed his shoulder.

Billy i got it. Its all about distribution, back in the days its was about distributing the booze, now a days its about distributing the drugs and the whores. Now hear my idea.

WE ARE GONNA RUN THE DAMN MEAT DISTRIBUTION. and i am not talking about supplying old ladys with fellas packing a pound. No i mean restaurants and grocery stores all over the city. We are gonna cool down the transportation of meat and control and systemice it. for fucks sake, everyone loves a steak, so it aint coke prices, but its a damn steady income to be sure

In love with his own idea he had to go to the kitchen to fall down abit and brougth some sausages back and some of his homemade ketchup.

Here Billy chew on this.

Handing Billy_Mastrosimone a sausage he splattered it with ketchup

"The butcher has a point. We won't be getting rich any time soon doing this but it's steady and relatively easy."

Eye wiped the corner of his mouth and took a sip of water before adjusting his seat to face Billy. He pondered for a bit then snapped his fingers as his eye lit up with excitement.

"How about something a little less heavy handed than we're used to? I got a lotta eyes in and around city hall. Blackmails a little dirty but once you catch someone; they're yours for life."

He glanced around the room to see if there were any other thoughts.

Billy took the sausage offered by Bob and took a bite to give himself time to think. It was still a damn good sausage despite having eaten too many to count.

"You're right, it'll be steady income, but stead is what we need right now to get something else off the ground."

He waved his sausage around a bit to gesture toward the front door.

"Besides, the authorities are already in out pocket, so we can make sure that our meat trucks are the ones that get clearance and others get unfortunately stopped and fined. I hear there's some kids running around breaking tail lights lately."

He winked at the last bit. Everyone knew where Billy and his bat were going to be for a few nights. Then he looked to Eye

"Blackmail is not my kind of gig. I'm more a straight shooter. But you say you know the folks keeping an eye out right? Hey, if we can find someone pulling off something they shouldn't be, politicians can bring in lots of dough. Maybe they can slide some our way eh?"

He finished the sausage then and looked around the room.

"So we got two good ideas, anyone else before I throw one of my own out there?"

Report Post Tip

I would have to think that we need to drink on the ideas we have before we decide something.

Bob passed the snaps around.

Also its common wisdom to have a tortured person voice his oppinion about your idea, ill just get that up and running.

Going to his cellar, Bobs goes to the last rooom opens it and lets out the butcher who the mayor made butcher of choice two years ago, this was a thing Bob was runner up for. Sending out a short command

So i need your oppinion on something, the reward is being allowed to pass and become sausages.

Bring the man up to the crew he throws him to the floor and says now you listen and rate these ideas

Cecelia leaned in toward the table, her face glowing from the sudden applied light, now out of the shadows. She frowned, as if contemplating the ideas previously discussed.

"It's a lucrative business." She looked around, realizing she had the attention, albeit confused, of her peers. "Automobiles," she added to clarify.

She sat up in the seat, tapping a pen on her shoulder while obviously churning through her thoughts.

"It's not much of a quick buck, but sure, give it a little while and we'll be rolling in it. Anything short of a monopoly and nobody will even bat an eye. It's one of those industries that'll be around, I believe it would be a good investment. As eager as we should be to get rich, baby steps will build our credibility as we move into... other sectors."

She paused.

"When in Paris, right?"

Cecelia looked at Billy. She gave him a slight tilt of the head and eyebrow raise, as if asking what he thought.

Before letting him reply she followed up, raising her hand lightly, beckoning to allow her an additional comment:

"Of course we'd need to hit our contacts all throughout the supply chain, assembly line, and so forth. If you believe it'd be too ambitious to expand into the automobile industry, I would not fault you."

With that, she leaned back in her chair, crossing one leg over the other, and allowed both Billy and the others to further discuss the matter at hand while she sat diligently watching.

Billy rubbed his eyes for a moment and then stared daggers at Bob-The-Butcher.

"Bob, you can't keep people in the basement. And you most certainly can't torture well-known people. That only attracts the wrong kind of attention. Please deal with that and get him out of here before I have to."

He turned his attentions toward CeceliaBriggs as she explained about the automobile business. He opened his mouth to speak, and then she clarified further, so he waited a moment before asking his own questions.

"It might be ambitious to jump right into the industry. Why bother making the cars when we can just sell em?" He raised his hand to keep everyone quiet while he explained.

"Also, I don't expect to buy any cars either. But I don't see why we can't use our contacts in Chicago to have some of our boys steal cars from there and drive them up here to be re-sold. And if we can manage it, maybe we find someone in the shipping industry and we can pull the same con from NYC and Philly. Buts out us having to build anything ourselves until we can make a profit on the game. What do you think Cecelia, you know enough folks to get a small ring together to start making some money on this?"

Of course, he would have to get in touch with the families of Chicago and New York if he did wind up expanding out there. They would need a cut, but then again, he could sell 'theft insurance' in those cities too and that would solve that problem.

Cecelia straightened up in her chair, this time to reply to Billy. She turned to him and said frankly,

"I believe I could sort something of this magnitude out with little difficulty. As soon as you've cleared the red-tape, of course."

She shifted in her seat, without moving a muscle in her face, then pursed her lips for a brief second and continued, "How small the operation stays, of course, I can be of little help."

She gave Billy a wink and fell quiet once more.

Miles swings into the HQ to see what all the commotion is about, there was a crowd of people gathering, and he listened to what Billy had to say.

"I usually help prevent crime but if the money is right I can be persuaded to change."

Miles continued to listen as Billy and the others spoke, he thought long and hard about how they could all make a few bucks and he thought back to all the crimes he had stopped himself.

"A few ideas come to mind, selling stolen goods, blackmail, but then something come into mind, something that could make good money... Kidnap."

Miles chuckled to himself with his best evil laugh and fell silent to listen to the group again.

Disappointed Bob walked away quite disappointed with his victim. Hm where to get rid of this guy. One thing was sure it would not be good if he lived to tell his tale. Bob took a quick think about where to best sort the issue and then swiftly left.

Billy nodded after everyone had begun speaking. He then stood up.

"Alright. Automobiles it is then. I'll get in touch with folks from around the country. Cecelia see if you can't procure a few places here that we can store the goods, and resell them without too many wandering eyes. Speaking of which..."

He turned to look at Eye.

"If you've got some extra time, see if you can use this..." He rolled out a wad of 100s and handed it to Eye. "...and get a couple of cops to turn the other way for us."

He looked around earnestly but didn't see Bob-The-Butcher anywhere. Must not have come back after taking out the trash. He shrugged.

"Next person who sees Bob, ask him to get in touch with his meat supplier down by the docks. See if they know anyone with some large ships, we're gonna need to pay them off if we do wind up expanding this at all."

He made his way back toward his office.

"If you'll excuse me, I've got some calls to make. Take your time, get this right, we're not in a hurry. We can pick this up next week."

And with that, he shut the door and picked up the phone.

Coming back from doing his errand, Bob looked around and saw the meeting seemed to have split up.

Hey guys, i am back did i miss anything?

He was allready building images in his head about all the money which soon would be floating into his crews pockets
