Zoom approached the grave of Nikita and took note of the people standing by. He sighed as the familiar sound of a portal opened up next to him - moments later, Rick stepped through. He was drunk, as usual, and there was more than a slight bit of drool on his lab-coat. Zoom rolled his eyes and pulled the old man in by his lapels. "Rick, when I said that we had a situation to handle... THAT IS NOT WHAT I MEANT TO DO!" Zoom took off his mask and looked at Rick for a long minute, getting the point across thoroughly. Rick grumbled and threw his hands into the air, complaining about a simple 'miscalculation'. Zoom blinked a few times and Rick got the point. The old man promised to lay off the sauce for a few days, and had started to reach in his pocket for his portal gun. Zoom laid a hand on Rick's shoulder and pulled him back from the edge of the portal that had appeared. "Seriously though... We need to focus on rebuilding, and you need to cut back on the drinking." As Rick started to step through the portal, the group of people who were visiting Nikita's grave-site quickly shuffled over towards them - presumably to question Rick about the recent mishap. Alas, just as they got close enough to bring their inquiries, Rick stepped fully through the portal and disappeared. Everyone turned to Zoom. "I feel like I must speak on the events that surround the death of the person you were just mourning," Zoom paused to nod in the direction of Nikita's grave. "Apparently Rick took me too literally when I said we needed to 'slice Pasadena' - I never envisioned something quite as gruesome as what that old fuck was able to accomplish. I mean seriously, for a drunken grandpa..." Zoom sighed and rubbed his temples before he continued. "I'll keep this short and to the point as I have already lost entirely too much sleep over this. While the brutalness of being sliced in half is not something I had in mind, the removal of Nikita was. With our city being as young and small as it is, the final decision to remove her(and subsequently, the Pasadena upper structure) was not one that I made lightly." "The simple matter of the fact is that I could not trust her moving forward. When you word things to those you work for,(Nikita to me) in such a manner that it sounds as though you're about to go off on a killing spree without permission, your death is generally not too far ahead. It should be noted to anyone listening that should you ever find yourself in a Godfather position, it would behoove you to remember that you still answer to the Chairman above you." |

Harry listened to what Zoom was saying. It all sounded good, but can we really know? Harry push his way a little closer to hear more, if anything was said. |

Listening to this what Zoom had to say I have come to this conclusion. Zoom is incompetent and ineffective in communicating to those who work for him. |

I think these situations are what separates leaders from followers. Time will tell. |

Bob tucks his paintbrush behind his ear, nodding before speaking, "I suppose you're kind of right, but not how you may think," he looks at the two naysayers, "Things like this are exactly what separates Leaders and followers. As far as I'm concerned, Zoom saw an issue in his own City and took care of it precisely and flawlessly. That's the marks of a good Leader, for definite. Imagine if we had another crazy running around with a loaded weapon to deal with - that would cause catastrophe for all of the established Cities. Instead, Zoom took care of it properly, without damage to any City but his own. The only thing he seemed to follow was his morals." |

Jerry straightens his hat and calmly takes his cigar out of his mouth. Dreaming of how his late MortySmith would handle this situation brings a positive ambiance to his demeanor as he prepares himself to speak. First, I would like to commend Godfather Zoom on his ability to recognize a problem and deal with it swiftly. He saw a problem in his own city and decided to dismantle it before it grew into something he wouldn't be able to handle. We all know how it is around these shores, you can't just take certain words that are said lightly; especially when it comes to a possibility of harming allies that would ultimately cause your home to be the front door of more massacres. The events that surrounded Godfather Nikita were no ones fault except her own. She knew exactly where the fault line was and decided to take a risk to step on it. War is hell, sometimes you find yourself having to cut off a leg in order to save your own city. Well done Los Angeles for securing a safe place for your families. Jerry takes a small sip from his flask that Rick himself had been so kind to present to him on his birthday. After immediately feeling a bit sluggish, Jerry began wondering what the hell he had been drinking. Shaking his head side to side to regain his balance, Jerry puts his flask away. Now I think we can all say we've had a couple of mishaps with experiments, Rick is no exception. He IS a scientist after all... the man can't help it that when he mathematically sees perfection in his head; he reaches for it. I'm sure he meant for this to go a bit differently. I commend the man on trying to figure something different for this world of ours. Jerry pats his friend on the shoulder thanking him for his service to the community and to the fine city of Los Angeles. Turning around, he looks at the Thugs and Gangsters that surround; He notices some are in a family and some wander these streets with no protection at all... At times where it may seem dark and unfair, people will always flock and give their two cents to anyone they deem as "incompetent". Do yourselves a favor, live your lives without fear or misery of feeling as if you need to put someone down because you are upset for your ancestors. It happens to us all in this thing of ours, I give my condolences to the fallen. I hope you can all find peace knowing your fathers and mothers are at peace in their graves. You outlook and decisions in this life should be on your on volition, not with what happened to your ancestors. Jerry pops his cigar back in his mouth. After noticing Ricks daughter walking down the street, Jerry knows he's in trouble. Gotta get back to the Mrs. You all have yourselves a nice day. |
