Marissa Started by: Marissa_Verratti on Jan 24, '19 17:40

Marissa had just gotten out of a steamy hot shower; drying herself off and putting on her "night clothes" and wrapping the towel around her head to keep her hair from dripping water in the apartment; She knew her sister @Megara_Verratti hated waking up in the morning to a trail of water drops in the apartment.

Marissa went to wish her sister goodnight, this was a everyday routine. Her unconditional love for her sister was voluminous and she always expressed it at anytime she could. After Marissa said goodnight to her sister she went to her room and sat at her desk and turned on her nightlight; Whipping out her diary and a pen and started to jot.....

Whenever Megara leaves the apartment it worries me; knowing there's a slight chance she wont walk back through that door, knowing she could die out there. I always blamed our father for putting us in this criminal lifestyle but Meg always told me this life was a gift and a curse and I know what she means but still I don't think two girls should live like this.

I always dreamed of going Broadway and singing in front of thousands of people wearing a dress that sparkles in the light; hearing people chant "Marissa,Marissa,Marissa" warms my heart every time I think about it. It will be a dream come true if I could perform center stage and be able to buy my sister out this lifestyle we live in I would be happy with life. Sometimes I wonder if the poems/songs I write are ever good enough to make it big... I express myself in all of my masterpieces and most of my friends say I write sad/dark content but thats the life I live what else can I write about... Just who I am.

I know i have a purpose, But I don't see the purpose

They tell me the death of me is going to be the drugs

I know they lace coke, I bought them on purpose

Life's unreal when death's uncertain

It's funny how the blessed ones had the most curses

Heart falling to the floor if we lose another person

Marissa closes the book wishes that she can make her dream can come true;

Marissa was in her apartment and was thinking about her friends and how they all have some life problems in common; Some dealing with love, health issues and how they hated the way they were living their life. To Marissa life was always depressing for her being that she didn't grow up with her two parents and that all she had was her sister and coming to the states all she was exposed to was drugs and murders. She hated the way cartels was ran and how life itself was hard to make a living but sometimes can be awarding to others who had the luck.

Marissa whip out her notebook that she keeps all her poems in and wanted to express her feelings towards her and her friends negative aspects of life while recognizing the beauty of life itself, bouncing back and fourth between these two ideologies; as life can suck but beautiful at times. as Marissa grabs her pen and begins to write on the pad she was jotting everything that would come to mind and from the bottom of her heart. it was as if she was pulling everything from inside her and was putting it down on the pad.

I know that it hurts sometimes, but it's beautiful
Working every day, now you're bleeding through your cuticles
Passing through a portal as you're sittin' in your cubicle
Isn't life beautiful? I think that life is beautiful
Tryin' to keep your cool at your grandfather's funeral
Finding out eventually the feeling wasn't mutual
You were not invited 'cause you're nothing like the usual
Isn't life beautiful? I think that life is beautiful
You wanna see your friends, but you're stuck inside a hospital
Doctor walks in and he tells you that it's terminal
Tumor in your brain and they're sayin' it's inoperable
Isn't life beautiful? I think that life is beautiful
They'll kill your little brother and they'll tell you he's a criminal
They'll fucking kill you too, so you better not get physical
Welcome to America, the type of shit is typical
Isn't life beautiful? I think that life is beautiful

At this point of the page Marissa wanted to tap into her inner depression with how sometimes she would be sad with life; She never really wanted to express her depression to her friends but she would gladly do it through quotes or poems as that was her gift. She wanted to tell a story every-time she wrote, she wanted people to understand her through her art. She kept drafting down her emotions on her pad...

Wake up in the morning, now you doing the impossible
Find out what's important, now you're feeling philosophical
When I die, I'll pack my bags, move somewhere more affordable
Isn't life horrible? I think that life is horrible
You think she's adorable, she thinks that you're intolerable
You think you can do it, but your chances are improbable
Once you feel unstoppable, you run into an obstacle
Isn't life comical? I think that life is comical

Deeper down the pad Marissa wanted to wrap it up with a message to her friends who share the same emotions or life struggles that she is connected too; She wanted to express that she will always be there for them no matter what even while dealing with her own depression. This part was hard to write for her as she thought about he friends that she cared for deeply and her loving and caring sister but expressing on this pad was therapeutic to Marissa as she continued.....

And if you ever need a friend then you got me
And in the end, when I die, would you watch me?
And if I try suicide, would you stop me?
Would you help me get a grip or would you drop me?
Run away, make friends with the moon
Why you trippin'? You'll be with your friends soon
There comes a time when everybody meets the same fate
I think I'ma die alone inside my room

Marissa closed her pad and went to prepare herself to bed...
