Fisk steps through the streets of Chicago, sirens wailing through the evening just as the sky turns a dark grey, smothered by thick cloud. "With the loss of yet another man of the sicillian mafia, I can't help but think of how things should be played out from this point, the loss of a capo di tutti capo, a boss of bosses. "I have known in past experiences that when a family head has been brought down, the remainder of the members are enraged by this, they stand, they fight for their familiy's name and business regardless of if they live. "However today, things are different. People file, quietly away from the drama and hide within another persons family, trying to make a name for themselves under someone else rules and regulations. "Why? Because too many people in this world see them as fair game, too many see a man they know to have lost the protection of their boss's power and respect and so decide they are a decent way to train their gun. "I know this is something you already know, but do you know that should my beloved family come under attack and my Don fall, that I would fight for his name, and for his family members, and for his business, until the breath is taken from my body?" Fisk smiles and looks at the ground, the rain starting to fill the gaps in the cobbles "Well now you do, I would rather fight those who took his life and die than work under the name of another, just to save my own worthless hide" |

James lets Fisk know what he things. Well I agree,a family member of a fallen Boss should die with dignity with their Boss. No running to another family, unless the person they go to is authorized to take the fallen Boss's place. Then they can take their rightful place in the family again. Otherwise fight and more than likely die. |

I see my dear friend Mr. Capizzi standing in the rain. I hear him talking and see some people listening to him. As he is done I step towards him and start to talk. "I understand your point Fisk, but one thing I think you left out. You are in the position to fight properly. You have the rank and privileges to fight properly. A gangster without the badge hasn't. He is NOT in the position to fight, his death would be senseless." I have to say that it would be okay to hide under another flag, gain some power, some respect. Working till you are in a position to fight back, even if it takes years...vendetta when you're ready." Steps back and waits... |

Fisk smiles and nods to his friend "It's good to see you signore Licata. "You're quite right, the family I talk of are those who have been made soldato's, people who the family have accepted and trust to protect their business and name, rather than just assume a different one. "As an experienced member of the mob without being a soldato though, I would still follow those who stand for what was lost and fight to see the family triumph, or fall with honour" |

I respect that. But let's for a moment assume you're no good fighter. If you can't fight back it's really no point in doing that. Same goes for the whole rest of the family, it's no point for them to go on a suicide mission. Once we're dead, we can lay down in our glory and... well that's it. However, I can agree that it's very cowardy to run away and hide once the leader is gone. My first thought would be "who's our leader now? RHM? Someone else, perhaps the leader of the hitsquad? It oughta be someone there to collect up the pieces and remould the old group, either for the sake of striking back or simply rebuild. It would be nice if that happened spontaniously, like in the old times when a family actually was a Family. But since it doesn't seem to happen nowadays I think that it's up to the crewleader to announce the potential successor well before his death, if it isn't obvious. |

"Indeed, that is something that should be in place. The Right Hand would automatically assume the whole family, things would not just fall appart. "While A rank of Boss or above still lives under the family name then they will still united under that family" |

| I'd say that it's a big shame for the old heads of the family, and a little shame for the thugs working under their before protective wings. | |

Lights a cigar. Shouldn't matter if your a good shooter or not you die with the family. You don't think your Boss would die or fight for you if you were gunned down? If he doesn't then he shouldn't be a Boss. His job is to protect and fight for the family yours is to protect and fight for the Boss. |

| "Well, I don't say that fighting isn't the way it should be, of course it is but the thing that matters to me is how you fight, there are far more ways than just to kill everyone. I'm sure you all know this. If someone in position to do so I would join the fight, no questions, but you can't always expect someone to do this step." | |

My first statement was blatantly ignorant for effect. In some situations it is best to go down shooting for your family but what if the one who has killed your boss has been put to rest why sit and wait to be taken down by other family's Hit Squads |

Nods in agreement. That is a bit different. If your Boss's killer has been taken care of, I see no reason why you can't find a new home. |

Colin strolls by and hears the conversation going on, he pulls the cigar out of his mouth and exhales Fisk I definitely agree with you, if your boss dies you should stand up for what you believe in and defend his name, but what happens if by the time you wake up and hear he is dead, there is no one left to shoot? I would not condone the shooting randomly until you fall yourself, but then again its a hard thing to work for another boss, In this case I would find it acceptable to find a new boss? Loyalty to the new boss though would have to be a must, and might even need tested straight away. |

Fisk smiles at his friend and tips his hat in greeting "Signore Doyle it's good to see you. "I think what has been agreed is that the Crew Leaders of present should/could be in talks regarding allowing the Right Hand Man of a family to set up in the event of their death, thus making a quick and easy place of shelter for those left homeless and the family can stay in business, instead of wasting alot of hard work" |

This whole subject is a bit of a joke to me, honestly. Leaders, upon setting up another leader always say: "It's their city to run now. It's their responsibility." However, when the leader falls, it suddenly becomes all the other leaders city again? Bullshit. If this were truly the other leaders city, he should be responsible for it's future as well. This means he, or she, should have a replacement if he, or she, is ever shot, and said replacement should be allowed to take control. Afterall, how often have I heard: "The Right Hand is an extension of his leader. When his boss isn't on, his word goes in this city"? |

| Indeed you are correct. Like I have said before, When a boss dies surely he would wish that his family lives on, and continues his name and business? | |

Jordan listened to Fisk and a few other gentlemen talk on the street then stepped forward to join the conversation. Fisk, the part in your original speech when you said you would rather fight for your fallen leader than join another just to save yourself is a good example of loyalty. Although we see mafiosi die after a leader is killed we hear speeches ordering people not to shoot recently unsponsored. I know those speeches are said with good intentions, but it seems like giving people the opportunity to join other crews is teaching them loyalty isn't important. Obviously there are exceptions if a leader is killed by a rogue or in an accident such as his gun backfiring and killing him, but after a leader is killed in a war I don't think we can expect much loyalty from the people who join other families just to save themselves. A few of you guys talked about people with no power or training to fight. At my rank I expect to be killed if my boss dies, but even if I was a gangster and lost my gun I would not join another family. I would rather die with some honor than live with no loyalty. |
