"You shall not speak of his name", I yelled at Mrs. Norris as she meowed at me. I knew exactly who she was meowing about and I wouldn't hear anymore of it. I'd already been reading through countless books in Dolores Umbridges study. Hours and hours spent trying to learn spells without anyone's help. Hogwarts was always quiet when the students were sleeping and since I had wandered these halls for what already seemed like forever I figured I would pick up a wand for a good cause. My beloved Mrs. Norris was my bride to be before he who shall not be named came in and put an unbreakable spell on her. He turned my soon to be wife into a cat in spite of me not being willing to work for him and his dark empire. Mrs. Norris continued to meow at me and began to scratch at my leg. This was unusual for her as she hadn't been this worked up since she was first turned into a cat. I had a bad feeling something might be wrong so I gave some more of my attention to my beloved cat picking her up and dancing with her. After picking her up and spinning her around she swiped at my face in a serious manner and I proceeded to put her down right away. "MEOW!!", Mrs. Norris said with authority. At this time I was not only frightened for my life but very worried at the same time. This was more then just a "I'm not happy meow" this was more like a "We are in big trouble and you better put your big boy pants on" type of meow. She now had my full attention as I listened to every meow from there on out trying to decipher what she was trying to tell me. I scrambled through countless spell books looking for the answer but I was left clueless as an amateur. There wasn't much hope trying to figure this out on my own and I figured as much as Mrs. Norris wasn't gonna put up with me and my antics. She started to scratch on the door getting my attention, she was ready to leave and I was still stuck trying to figure out what she even wanted me to do. Maybe there was another way to figure this out, I got up from my seat and threw the spell book down. I headed towards the door and opened it for Mrs. Norris. I watched in amazement as she darted right out the door and down the hall towards the exit. If we were about to leave then she wasn't even giving me the chance to go for my coat! I was old but I'd do my best to keep up with her and her. I closed the door behind me and tried to quickly catch up to her going down the hall. Luckily for me she couldn't open any of the doors and was stuck at the front waiting for me scratching again on the door. I opened the door, this time I was ready to keep up with her. She took off once again and headed right for Ron Weasleys flying car. Luckily for me I knew that he kept the keys inside so I wouldn't have to go back in for them. I opened the driver side door for Mrs. Norris to jump into the passenger seat and I jumped in behind them. This wasn't the first time I had been in his car since I knew he was restricted to his quarters at night I knew I was free to fly it around. I put my helmet on as Mrs. Norris put on her riding goggles and we were on our way. She pushed a few buttons on the dash and we were set for the real world. We punched the gas into the nights sky as we put Hogwarts behind us. We were on a journey and I was being guided by my beloved cat. I wasn't sure at all where we would land once we arrived in the real world but I knew I would be ready for anything. The trust Mrs. Norris and I had was unimaginable I would follow her to the ends of the earth and back if she asked me too. Once we came through the portal and began flying through the nights sky I began to get an bad feeling right away upon arrival. I knew something bad was happening the second we crossed through into what felt like a very cold nights sky. It was windier the usual and I hadn't taken many rides into the real world so everything was usually a new experience. The high wind and dark nights sky didn't give any clue to the location of my destination. We were close to landing and I was certain Mrs. Norris would be ready to take off the second we touched the ground. I still wasn't quite certain as to what was going on, but I could tell that it was mighty important. |

We slid across the icy street as we made our landing down a street that didn't look very busy. I tried to read some of the street signs as we went down to get an idea where we were at but I didn't have any idea. Sliding to a stop it was cold and looked like it had snowed in the last couple days as there was remnants of it falling all over the place. I opened the driver door and Mrs. Norris hopped out taking off like I had kidnapped her. We were off to the races once again, but I felt we were closer this time. That feeling I got the second we crossed over I couldn't shake. I was out of breathe yet I couldn't stop running to keep up with Mrs. Norris. She was running faster then I could keep up with and I was quickly losing ground. Before I knew it she was almost out of site and I was slowing down and coming to a stop. I could see where she was heading, but couldn't even come close to her speed. I stopped for a moment and sucked up a few big breathes before taking off again. This time I took off and felt a little bit better, at this point I was getting used to running after her. I took a corner and noticed a sign that read "Welcome to The Loop, Chicago". I shrugged as I kept running this Chicago they spoke of I wasn't familiar with, everything was so new to me even at my old age. I'd kept following the paw prints in the snow and could see my Mrs. Norris in the distance. It looked like she was hiding under a car and she might need a little help herself. As I got closer she ran towards me for the first time in a long time. She slowly walked up to me almost crawling across the ground as if not to make any noise. She circles me a few times as she made her way to me. I was confused, but she took off again in the direction she came from and went back under the car. I followed and took cover against the side of the car and listened carefully as I could hear something in the distance. I peeked in through the windows towards an alleyway where I could see a fire was lit. Sounded like there was something going on over there and that's when I heard his voice. I quickly ducked back down and got under the car. At this point the wand I brought with me was useless and I had to come up with something quick as I knew I'd too be in trouble if he found out I was here in the real world. Mrs. Norris was making noises I'd never heard before so I knew this was where we were meant to be and it was up to me to act from here. I peeked up again and looked into the car where I saw a Thompson in the back seat of the car I was using to take cover. I opened the front door and removed the gun from back seat and tossed the gun to the side. I heard what sounded like a young lady scream as I slammed the door of the vehicle shut and headed for he who shall not be named. The alleyway was lit up with all kind of colors as I made my way towards it. Finally seeing for my own eyes that it was who I thought it was all along confirmed everything. It was time for me to seek my revenge on the man that had turned my love into a cat. I pulled back the lever on the Thompson and unloaded on my adversary. He was unsuspecting of the attack as he was attacking someone else that I could not see, though I was familiar with the spell he was casting as it was the one he had used before. Just then in the other direction was a lot of gun fire, what sounded like a war going on. I continued to unload on him as he hit the ground, he was deserving of every bullet he would receive. I walked up as I watching the smoke rise from his body, it was with Mrs. Norris intuition we were able to stop the man who had turned her into a cat the only problem was she would be forever changed as there would be nothing I could do. Just when the deed was done and I was ready to walk away in the shadows I noticed a small figured. Quiet yet confident it walked in my direction. As the light in the alley way hit the small animal in front of me it was clear that they were a ferret and had been carrying something with them. Was it possible he had turned another person into an animal, were we too late again? As they got close I noticed they were quite friendly, walking close I grabbed the card she had in her mouth. Looking at it in the light it was a business card and it read "Eleonora Luciano "The Kuklinski Crime Family". At this time I was pretty convinced he had turned another lady into an animal and she had become a victim to his actions. Though she had just become a ferret she was a very lovely ferret. I crouched down as she jumped onto my shoulder and squeaked. It was an instant connection, I had found a new friend under some unfortunate circumstances. I had finally put an end to her who musn't be named. He had caused damaged beyond repair, but it was my duty to make the best of it. The ferret jumped down from my shoulder and I pet it again on the head. "Eleonora, I am so sorry about what has happened to you but I hope you know I am here to help. I hope you don't mind but I'd like to call you Ellie?" The ferret churred and squeaked a few more times, but it sounded like she understood what I was saying. This new relationship had been made in a quite peculiar way. We headed back to where we had left the car we flew in on to get out but it was gone and the parking spot had been left empty. This Chicago was showing that it was a tougher place then I'd imagined and now wasn't surprised he who shall not be named lurked around these parts. The car was gone and I was lost as to how and if we were ever gonna get home again. Just then in the distance you could hear a dog barking. It instantly caught Ellies attention and she was running off into the night like nobodies business. Mrs. Norris raced off right behind her and I was left to gather myself for another chase. I felt like this was something I was going to have to get used to. |
