Sal can't help but smile and chuckle with pride at the story of Aurora. She sounded like him when he was younger.

"Do you want me to try and talk to her? Maybe give her some advice and guide her some?" he says before pulling himself another drink.

Sal signals for one of his guys and whispers the name of the man that is causing Bella trouble and then the man walks off seriously signaling to a couple of other guys to go with him.

"Maybe I can get her to slow down and cause fewer problems," he tells her.

"If we block her path and keep tightening the reins she's going to buck harder.  This may be one of those lessons she has to learn on her own.  I hate to leave her safety to chance but sometimes a good scare is the sort of thing a kid needs to come round to seeing their parent's point of view... then again, I wasn't ever scared straight so... maybe I'm wishing for the impossible.  Maybe, like you said, it's in her blood and I just need to trust in the training she's been getting.  She's already more dangerous than some grown men I know."

She shook her head.

"We don't have any issues with bullies at school anymore and from what I hear, granted, she also doesn't have a whole lot of friends.  Will seems to be the more social of the two.  Aurora is a loner."  Bella shrugged.  "I keep thinking it's an awkward phase and she'll grow out of it but I just don't know."

Bella eyed her father's cigar pointedly, "Might I snag one off you?  It's been a very long time."

She chuckled.

"First time I had one I was about Aurora's age, if you can believe that."  She watched her father clip it for her and took it from him.  She examined it and nodded. Clearly, her father's tastes hadn't changed.

"Of course it wasn't anywhere near as good as this one.  Shit... I'm going to wager these were rolled between virgin thighs?"  she laughed, only half-joking.  There were fair odds they might have been.

"So I don't know if I told you or not... but Aurora took one of them tests for super smart people.  Turns out the kid's off the fucking charts."  She shook her head.  "They asked for our permission to advance her in school so maybe she won't be so bored.  Can you imagine?  They think she's causing trouble because she's bored.  They say she needs something to challenge her intellect more."

She laughed and then went about the task of lighting her cigar.  After a moment of filling her lungs with the poignant burn of the smoke, she exhaled a cloud and seemed to relax into her chair a bit more.

"If she joins the family business... she's going to be hard as fuck to deal with in her formative years.  She won't take well to taking orders... she's never been one to do what she's told.  She's convinced no one knows what's better for her than she does... even those of us she loves and actually respects."

Sal took a long couple of puffs from his cigar enjoying the flavor.

"When I said I could talk to her it wasn't about reigning her in. More a guide to if you want this life type talk. Getting her to calm down to get where she wants to go."

"I see me in her. Rough youth knowing what I wanted. She may need advice in that and how to get where she wants to go. If she hears of the structure and the rules."

"You cant persuade her but guide her to control herself. She is smart and knows it as well as dangerous. That is a rough combination, she need guidance." he says to her

"Gavin and I will talk about it when we're on vacation.  I'm sure he'll agree it's not a bad idea."

For a moment she sat quietly as their dinner was finally brought out.  After the waiter left she asked, "Who did you con into being your hand?  You know that no one will ever hold a fucking candle to Draven, right.  Poor bastard, whoever they are, they can't possibly know how high your standards are and what giant shoes they have to fill."

Sal watched as his steak was brought out and sat before him.

"I have a young person with me. They are not Draven but they will learn what I require," he said with a smirk.

"Or I will have to fire them."

Sal cut into his rare steak and took a bite. It was a damn good steak.

They sat and ate talking about the kids. When they were finished he stood and kissed Bella on the cheeks.

"Well, this meeting has gone well. No guns were drawn and no bodies dropped I think thats a record." he said joking as he walked Bella to her car.
