| Project Byrne Out - Testing | Started by: Connie on Feb 20, '19 18:27 |

Following the success of the boxing concept that we developed and rolled out, I've been putting some time into a street races idea that I think is ready for the Streets. We've called it project Byrne Out in recognition of Keats upping and leaving, and because Race Street Street Races is a little hard on the ear. Purpose of this thread/test is to ensure that:
And above all, it has the potential for people to enjoy it, gamble on it etc. So, it works like this. We have cars, which have stats. The cars base stats are combined in different ways to produce the value of the skills. The current four demo cars we have are here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CRtU92LDqlURxX_Dfxi6qFFj3XI1cozLN66jqHmT4ic/edit?usp=sharing
We have Tracks, which have 'sections'.These sections have values against them. Demo track is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZXE7oTJiiOVXr6CvKNrpPmzc_dsbTXzCRDzNNRCToUc/edit?usp=sharing
Cars stats have to beat the track section values in dice rolls.I have a grid which matches the skill of the car against the track section. The player has to roll an "x or more" to achieve the value of the track. Think Warhammer or D&D. If they fail, they achieve the value of their roll. Their roll is the last digit on a tops dice bet I issue.
Example RoundA car with an Acceleration of 3 and a Speed of 3 = a total of 6 against a Straight track section. The Straight track section also has a value of 6. The player must roll a 4 or more to win the 6 points the section is worth. If they roll less than the 4, they receive the number of points on their roll instead.
Wild CardThe Wild Card aspect of this is that the player also has a Gas stat. This can be used at any time to bump up their roll. So that 6 in the previous example becomes a 7 if 1 Gas is used.
WinnerThe winner will have the highest score after all rounds/sections have been played. In between each round I will narrate the outcome in a business/street thread to allow people to follow the progression of the race.
Unlike the boxing, this can include multiple people. It has huge potential to expand. Bigger tracks. Car Upgrades/selling. Track Modifiers like weather, day/night. Dirty in-race maneuvers. Lots of honest, trustworthy gambling. (The boxing cost me more than I made in bets after prizes and payouts, and around 350 million was changing hands throughout.) Before I can get to any of that though, I need to make sure the basic functionality works. I guess the overall purpose of this thread is to know if anyone wants to see this rolled out, and also to find some testers to support me through the build phase. I need at most 4 people to run the test cars/track above. Availability isn't a huge issue, we can take our time. The boxing attracted a huge amount of attention. Bets were placed, people wrote about knocking each other the fuck out and I was generally lead to believe it was enjoyed. Would love to recreate that with something new. |

As a degenerate gambling addict I absolutely love the idea & feel this would be something a lot of people would enjoy. I am happy to help with testing if needed. |
