John stepped out of a small grocery store in Summerlin and couldn’t help but smile as he felt the heft of the envelope full of cash he had just collected for his boss Miss_Niki. As he wandered back toward headquarters, he let his mind drift back remembering how he had gotten to his current place as an associate of a crime family in Las Vegas.

A few weeks prior he had just been another small time thug on the streets of New York scraping by mugging the occasional pansy or – when he felt overly brave thanks to a bit of liquid courage – knocking over a convenience store. He had certainly been making far more than he ever had in the past and thought he was living large – man how small the world seemed to him then.

Then tragedy had struck – John had robbed a place only to find out that it was under the protection of a local street gang. They had – rather roughly – informed John that his presence was no longer welcome in New York but that out of respect for his deceased father they would give him the opportunity to leave on his own. He still wasn’t sure how his father had anything to do with it but he wasn’t going to argue and had hopped on a train and made his way out to Las Vegas counting his blessings that he didn’t have a couple extra holes in his body.

Upon arriving his plan had been to get by the same way he had in New York – a little robbery here, some con-jobs there, whatever it took to earn a buck. That was when he met MickeyBlueEyes. He had been scoping out a small shop when the man had approached him and offered him cash to make a quick pick up. Figuring it couldn’t hurt to earn a bit of cash without the risk of arrest John had gone along – go figure it would as he tried to do something on the up and up that he would end up an associate of a major crime family.

John chuckled and shook himself out of his musings as he checked his surroundings – his boss wouldn’t be very happy if he got jumped on the way back to HQ and lost the money because he had been daydreaming.
