Are they closed?

Now you are ready to take on the task of hearing my words without seeing my face. Let's take some time to have a bit of a discussion. Earlier this evening I had a young gentleman ask me if I had goals in this community. I told him no. I lied.

You see, it's when you begin to sit around that you think of the things you want to say. The things that really matter to you. And when you are alone you can begin to see the things that you want in your life. Whether it be this one or something for your kin to get themselves into. Perhaps you push hard for your child to play soccer because you know they would be excellent at it. Perhaps you push yourself to make a little more money for your boss on Saturdays. Whatever the case may be there is always something to look for, to push for.

Some of us call this fire. This fire is inside you. It's what motivates and what drives you. If you honestly believe that there is nothing that could possibly motivate you then you would be wrong. I tell people all the time that I am not motivated to do anything, and yet I find myself on the streets talking to you all.

What fire do I have? A very bright one. The fire that drives me is to see things done better. To strive for better. My deepest darkest desire is to manage to do better than my kin. Always striving for that next dollar bill. Or even the next mugging that produces a lot of cash.

In this community I see a lot of things that could be better. It ultimately takes a toll on whether I find enough to drive my fire. Sometimes when it becomes overwhelming without simple steps then it is better to back away. To step aside until there is a better time to make things better.

Is that time now? Is this the beginning of change?
