The Salvanni were one of the deadliest crime families that graced the face of the United States. Emerging out of a post-World War I United States, the Salvanni family made a name for themselves smuggling in ‘blood diamonds’ fresh from Cape Town, along with some ivy elephant trunks and alligator skin. Drugs here and there too. But it wasn’t until they began making their own diamonds that they actually began rising through the ranks, even reaching the ears of the heads of the Big Five down in New York, all the way in the East Coast.
