John excitedly stood outside of his newly purchased business. He had found this little pawnshop owned by a nice middle-aged man making just enough to barely keep the doors opened and new that he could do great things with it. After offering the man far more than it was worth John was able to quickly buy the place and then purchased the lot behind it as well. For the next three months John had contractors working around the clock to improve the building and to add on back offices and a small attached warehouse to hold goods that he would not want on display in the main area. While the contractors were working on the building John began making calls to old contacts in New York, Los Angeles, and overseas that he had made when he was boosting a lot of goods in the beginning stages of his career. A little pressure here, a few greased palms there, and he had his network in place. He was ready to start fencing anything from stolen wire to high end art and new he could move it quickly and quietly out of his little pawn shop in Las Vegas. Now he stood outside of the newly opened business and smiled as he walked confidently through the door and greeted his new employees – all of whom were being paid quite generously to be discreet about what was bought and sold. Walking back to his office he looked over the mailer he was about to send out to the world and smiling nodded to himself before giving it to his secretary to have sent out to the streets to let the world know there was a new place to sell their ill-gotten goods.
