As is custom inside our Family the upper structure does their best to check in and check out with each other so we know where everyone is if needed. Last night my LHM BobbyLashley was checking out for the night and had let me know he was heading back to his home town to see a relative and was worried about flying. I tried as best I could to ease his fears and discuss when he would be coming home or when he might be able to call in. It all seemed normal and din't give it another thought.
When I awoke this morning and I found Bobby retired. I have been trying to piece things together to see at what point he was so distraught that he felt he had to leave. I'm trying to figure out what would cause him to do this without any communication at all. I called all our mutual friends and it seems there wasn't a whisper of anything we could put our fingers on.
The only thing I can even remotely think would cause this is....... the dice
Bobby couldn't stay away from them damn dice. He knew I didn't like the fact that he was gambling and had in fact mentioned numerous times that he was done with it. As any gambler knows you are never done with it. You may have pauses where you stop but you always return sooner or later. Always looking for that next big win. Bobby had won plenty of times and won big. He always shared the money he won with the rest of the Family. He was a good hearted man who wouldnt' deny anyone help but couldn't help himself. His leaving has left a big hole in the crew and others who knew him.
This is a wild guess and only the Gods know for sure but it doesnt really matter what happened there is one less Bob on streets and in my home.
I hope if nothing else comes of this maybe some of you will stop wasting money on the dice while your leader or crew mebers struggle to kepp you safe.

As long as people are paying their taxes, and sending reasonable tributes up, what they do with their money is no one else’s concern. If they piss away every dollar in their savings, that’s on them. No one complains when someone wins big and kicks up a nice chunk, or tempts the Durdens to come out in full force. Keep gambling kids! |
