Part 1

The truck came to a full halt right in front of Pocket Meats Inc.'s main entrance. Being located right in the heart of Downtown, the warehouse stood tall and busy. No doubt that Gio's plan would disrupt the normal rhythm a little, but he hoped to make it as swift as possible - it was in his best interest to swoop someone off their feet, after all.

He threw the cigarette butt out of the truck's window and hopped off while his men aided the store workers unload. Quickly darting away from the scene, the truck left Giovanni holding a decorated box and his ten flower holding men lounging around the entrance.

"I want you guys to stand to the sides of the door and I want you guys to be ready to shower my wife in flowers as soon as she comes out." he smiled at them. "I want this to be perfect." He took three roses from one of the men and made his way inside, greeting the security at the entrance. They looked a bit dazzled, but a quick explanation ensued and they all promised silence.

He hastily made way towards his wife's office and softly knocked on the door, quickly setting the box under his right arm and readying the flowers in his left hand.

"Pardon me miss, mind me coming in?"

Walking around her office, she was filing paperwork into the appropriate draws and then moving to the next one. Her pace was semi in a hurry, she wanted to be done and go home. Zoom was away on business for a day or so and she found it to be rather lonely in the headquarters, rather quiet too. Her security stood outside the doors so if she needed light conversation she could very well get it but perhaps not from people who were too scared to say anything out of line, she didn't want conversation from people who were walking on eggshells with her. Instead, she enjoyed her own company.

Letting out a soft sigh, she finished up the work she needed to do and walked over to her desk to grab her handbag, placing a few things inside of it. She brushed a piece of her raven locks behind her ear as she suddenly heard a knock on her door. Maybe it was Zoom returning from his trip early? Though it's doubtful he would even knock, he owned this place afterall. Glancing at the door now, she instantly took a few steps towards it. Maybe it was her security? She wasn't sure what they would be knocking about.

Opening the door, her gaze instantly found her husband stood at the door frame. Her eyes widened as her lips moved into a soft grin as she noticed him standing there with roses. Tilting her head, she instantly opened her arms to greet him. "What are you doing here?!" she asked, excitedly walking towards him.

Giovanni's eyes brightened as he saw his wife. She looked beautiful with her raven hair flowing as she moved towards him. He hardly avoided dropping his jaw as he extended the flowers towards her. As soon as she accepted them he took the box in his hands and extended it too.

"Well... Hopefully you."

His eyes burned with mischief for a couple of seconds as he let them run on her. His smile turned to a smirk and he waved the box a little so she'd focus on it. "I got you something else, as well!"

He was anxious. Chromatik had a peculiar taste in jewels. Despite getting it right most of the times, Gio was always nervous when he gave her something. She made him feel like a teenager around his crush, even after the wedding.

As she grabbed the box he moved beside her so he could see her reaction up close. Laying his left arm around her hip he waited, eagerly.

Tilting her head, her grin didn't fade as he extended his hand to give her the flowers which she anxiously accepted, moving closer to him now as he then extended a box towards her. Looking down at it, she noticed his hand was still not 100% but it was getting there. Taking it from him, she laughed at his little sexual joke. At this rate he could get whatever he wanted, he was never one to be small with gestures. They were both getting vibes of the marriage being a wary for a while, she guessed this was his way of saying he didn't want it to go down that path. Smiling with appreciation, her hands unpacked the box as he moved to her side.

Her eyes gazed over the revealed piece of jewellery, her eyes widening even more with excitement as her head tilted even more so to explore every little detail. The emerald golden necklace was perfect and not something she was used to wearing. She swore just the other day she needed a unique piece like this too, this is where they both worked together so well.

"I love it so much!" she exclaimed, passing it back to him excitedly as she turned around. As luck would have it, her neck wore bare today. "Put it on for me please?" she asked, an innocent look on her face as she began to move her raven locks out of the way of her neck, her back now facing him.

As the box's cover was lifted, Gio's heart started beating faster and faster. He could feel his pulsating veins in his neck by the time the cover came off. Closely watching his wife's features for some hint, he was quickly reassured of her liking and approval for this piece.

"Alright, number one was a success. Now for number two."

This thought put a smile on his face, once again eager for his wife's reaction. But for a minute, he could appreciate this one. And it couldn't have been better. He savoured her reaction and planted a kiss on her cheek before running his hand through her side, trailing all the way from his hip to the back of her neck with his fingertips.

He grabbed the necklace with his injured hand, just showing he could. He struggled a little to bring it up but used the excuse of struggling to embrace his wife close for a little while. He got it around her neck with a mischevious giggle and managed to close it around her neck.

The shine of the emeralds fit perfectly with the hue of her eyes. His wife's brown eyes had slight green streaks and the necklace complimented them flawlessly. He embraced her tightly and planted a kiss on her shoulder, enjoying the moment for a little while.

He then spun her around in a smooth move, showing off his dancing lessons. He took them for the wedding and hadn't used them since, but they were still there. Not that he was any good, but he mastered a few moves.

"Damn. It's even better than I expected! I don't know if I'll be able to keep my hands to myself the whole night."

He realized she hadn't yet found the note he left inside the box. He looked at it slyly and back at Chromatik, hinting at something. His lips drew a smirk and parted slightly in expectation for her reaction.

Leaning into his lips as he pressed a kiss to her cheek, her cheeks slightly expanded from smiling so hard. It could only be him that made her melt like this, the fact that she was so far off suspecting this also wavered in. 

Remembering about his injured hand after she had already asked him to put on her necklace for her, she turned slightly to resist but he had already lifted it towards her before wrapping it around her neck to tie at the back after a few moments. Closing her eyelids as his lips pressed into her shoulder before reopening once his lips left her skin. She laughed as he spun her in a slight dance move, luckily her white bodycon clung to her hips though matching heels made it difficult to spin, it was more like little steps in a circle before she moved her form to face him. Opening her hands, her eyes met his. "How does it look?" she asked, briefly moving her gaze to look at what she could see from that angle. Grinning instantly at how his eyes gleamed when he looked at her, her gaze kept trying to switch between him and the necklace just showing how much she loved it.

As his gaze propped towards the box, she tilted her head as she glanced down to it, giving into the hints into his eyes. Finding a note in it with little cute golden heart on the back of the card she began to read it thoroughly, her forehead creasing slightly as her brown hues focused on the words. Her lips cracked into a genuine smile as her gaze found his features. She wrapped her arms around his neck as her fingers clung to the box still behind his neck, pulling him into her form.  "You're amazing, you know that?" she whispered into the sensitive part of his neck.

For some reason he was still acting a little shifty, as if it wasn't the last thing he was going to do today. In fact, couldn't he have sent it by delivery? Why was he here? Maybe he wanted to see her. Chromatik began to wonder as she held him tighter before letting him go, her eyes finding his again.

Gio was struggling with the butterflies in his stomach.

He didn't recall feeling like this in a long time. They were all over each other and he was enjoying it thoroughly. As she pulled him towards her and whispered on his neck he felt a rush of blood all over his body. His cheeks burned in a pleasant tingly sensation of blushing as he pulled his face back slightly to kiss her.

As their lips connected he pulled her tighter towards his body, biting her lip slightly. They were bound to lose control until some steps came down the hall. Security had went upstairs to check on them, prompting Gio to pull back and check on the noise. He got one good look into the guard before Chromatik pulled him back into the Venus trap that her lips were.

When the couple finally broke away, the guard was long gone. Gio took her hand, eager to lead her out to dine. He had a whole evening planned out and he was eager to set things in motion. His ruffled hair let everyone guess why they took so long and his smile told everyone why he didn't mind taking so much in there.

The moment they got outside, Gio's men popped from their hiding places and showered Chromatik with the flowers. A full rainbow of flowery bouquets rained upon her and he pulled her back into his entrapping embrace, smiling. 

"Did you really think I'd only give you those?"

He leaned in for a kiss but the flowers were pilling up between them, forcing them to step away to let them fall. A few moments passed before he could actually kiss his wife. 

"I still can't drive, shall we grab a cab?"

Her lips met his in a soft kiss as her arms tightened around his neck, pulling him closer. As he broke the kiss for a moment, her eyes flickered around the nearby hallway where his gaze moved to, curious as to what he was looking out for. There was no one else there? Why couldn't they continue? Grinning though, she pulled him back into focusing her with her hands on his shoulders before pressing her lips back to his. She knew that was the one thing he couldn't resist.

Noticing the guard now coming to interrupt them, she was unsure as to why he gave Gio a look but she was far too focused on other things. Finally bringing the kiss to a complete halt, her lips parted as her chest began to calm itself down and she took his hand instead, it was probably for the best anyways. Following him through the headquarters, they were quickly interrupted by a whole set of flowers quickly raining all over them. Letting out a laugh instantly, she glanced up as they fell onto them before looking around to the people he had set on each side to throw them. Shaking her head, she looked at him as he asked if she thought that was it, she squeezed his hand slightly. "Well, definitely wasn't expecting that." she said with laughter in her voice as she brushed off the flowers on her dress. Smiling with appreciation, she tilted her head as she gave him a quick kiss. 

"I'll get someone to take us." she told him, waving over one of her bodyguards from the entrance of the headquarters.

"You sure? Don't forget overtime fees."

Giovanni laughed heartily before he opened the back door of the car for his wife. He had no idea where they'd go for dinner, but he hoped they'd figure it out on the way. As the engine roared he turned to pull her closer to himself and asked softly:

"What do you feel like eating? Should we check out the Pacific? I heard they run it on an actual train."

Giovanni had heard good things from one of his bodyguards about that place. Apparently they aged steak on the premises. If that wasn't quality food, he didn't know what was. It was also open 24/7 with the exception of the summer months, which made sense considering their awkward dinner time.

His fingers slyly checked an inner pocket in his coat. He produced a cigarette and offered it to Chromatik, taking one out for himself. The engine was roaring and the spaced-out mansions of Beverly Hills were the background outside the car windows. None of it really mattered, not to Giovanni, at least.

As they entered Santa Monica Blvd., Giovanni's excitement visibly grew. He was eager for something, but as he was questioned, he retorted. "I could kill for some steak, I'm devilishly hungry. I ended up skipping lunch."

While this wasn't a lie, it clearly wasn't the full truth, as he remained excited well after they were inside the restaurant. What could it be?
