The invitation to America. Started by: Dominic-Lombino on Apr 23, '19 13:42

Dominic-Lombino had left home at the age of 18, his father and him never really got a long on the ideals of how mankind should proceed into the future. While Dominic was out searching for a purpose all over Italy he had become a member to a Brotherhood that was believe to be non existent anymore. This Brotherhood had been around for centuries and their enemies believed them to be gone as well. They are an order of Assassins, that works in the shadows for the light. Dominic’s first mission as a full fledged member of the Brotherhood at the age of 25 was to hunt down an Italian Templar that had setup in Florencia, his home town.

As Dominic began to investigate and look more into the Order of Templar’s that placed themselves in his hometown, it dawned on him one night as he followed what he thought would be the Templar master. As he walked down the streets in the shadows remembering running through this same street. Realizing the man was approaching his home he was worried that they had found him out. He went into reaction mode running up behind the man, moving his wrist back causing his hidden blade to slide from his sleeve, wrapping his hand over the mans mouth, and pressing the blade into his back.

Dominic lowered the man down slowly as the man’s head fell into the light, his heart sank into his stomach. “No, no, no, papa?” He looked at him with tears in his eyes. “You have always been one of them?” That moment he had realized the discussions he had with this father when he was at home aligned perfectly with the Templar order.

“My son… when…” His final words as he faded into the abyss.

Dominic closed his eyes and uttered the words, “Riposare in pace, papa.” Taking an white feather from his bag and rubbing it across the blood. Pulling his hood up and banging on the door to his home only to step back into the shadows as the light turned on.

Few days later…

He walked up to the cemetery where his father was being buried, pulling his hood off, tucking it into the back of his suit coat. He didn’t step much forward, staying out of sight as he saw other Templar targets at the funeral consoling his mother. Gritting his teeth pulling back his wrist, the blade slowly emerging from his sleeve. All the sudden his hand was pulled back down retracting the blade. His wrist was constricted and he turned to look seeing his Uncle ralph_lombino.

"Boy, That would be the second biggest mistake of your life." Those words rang back through Ralph's head as he sat at his desk. It had been a hellacious week. The news of his brothers death had begun it, along with the knowledge that his death had been caused by those thrice accursed orders. the Templar and Assassins. The though brought a growl to Ralph's face. As if that hadn't been enough, it had meant he was on the wrong side of the Ocean when another war broke out, and now Zoom was dead. Damn it again. That had been needless, although it had perhaps saved farther bloodshed. And then...he made it to the funeral, a few minutes late, and there stood Dominic. The hood tucked away, and the blade in his..not his hand, but coming from his wrist. God Damn it all again, to the very depths of hell. Had the boy really taken his new associates words on faith, just like that.

"You already made the biggest mistake that you'll ever make. You thought with your heart not your head, and broke what you used. You young idiot, Do you really think that they don't know it was you?! If you remain here, they will find you, and they will make you pay."

with a shake of the head, Ralph ran over what happened next. a quick grab, and a  small twist, and the blade retracted. Grab The hood and tuck it away, and step back before Dominic Realized what Ralph had done.

"Now, How does it go. Do you stay here and run until you can run no more? and then die? or do you..."

The rest was history, to quote the old saw. Ralph doubled checked the papers that he had had made up. It was all in order.

"Sir, we just got the word from the Island. He's here." That was Mack, with the word he'd been waiting for.

"thank you mack, Let the johnson boys know to move him through quickly. I want him here as soon as possible, or sooner."

The boy would be arriving tomorrow. Ralph opened a small hidden drawer in his desk, and looked at the hood he had taken from Dominic-Lombino. Lifting it and setting it aside, He ran hand hand over the second, much older hood...

Dominic walked off the boat pulling his hood up out of his coat and over his head. Looking around through the shuffling of the people on the Island. A woman dropping her suitcase letting out her items and everyone rushing to help her. In the commotion Dominic was able to slip past the people documenting the people entering the country.

As he continued on to the next boat to the shore he grinned as he stepped off, taking a deep breath in of the free country of America. Making his way to the airport which wouldn't be to far off. Noticing a hooded figure walking in the direction of him, Dominic tipped his head down. The mans shoulder slammed into Dominic and as he reached to look back a paper was in his pocket reading.

'You have left our home order, but we follow all members of the brotherhood. We understand you are heading to LA, but once your settled your mission is to go to Philly. That is your next target, Charles Banks.'

Crumbling the note and shoving it into his pocket, gritting his teeth. As he opened the door to the airport two bulk men approached him. Dominic's fist clinched pretty tightly as he was preparing for a fight. "Lombino? You Uncle sent us, we have a jet for you follow us."

Taking a deep breath as he felt some relief though he has never flow before. Making his way into jet and sitting back as it was going to be a long flight to LA.

Another knock on the door brought Ralph out of a reverie of days gone by. It had been another rough morning, and another member of LA was dead. Ralph found himself vaguely nostalgic for the days when all he had to do was go where he was told and kill who was pointed out.

"Come in"

The door opened, and Dominic slipped in, almost silently. Ralph stood and came from behind his desk to greet his nephew with a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"welcome to Los Angeles nephew. I trust the trip was not to terribly arduous."

Ralph went back to his desk and sat down, gesturing for Dominic to sit also. when the lad had sat, Ralph laid the younger mans hood on the desk between, then reached down and pulled up an older, much more battered hood, from his desk.

"So. You're here now. In america. Oh don't be surprised, you know that no one ever truly leaves that world. I simply had to step aside, because no one retires from this world I'm in either. now, from here, you get to balanced your two worlds. how will you manage that."

Nodding to his uncles words.

"It wasn't too bad, the whole airplane took some time to get used too." He started to chuckle some as he really thought about it. Sitting in the chair across from his uncle he smiled. Listened carefully to his words.

As Uncle Ralph finished speaking he pulled his arm up and moved his hand back. The hidden blade slide from his sheath in his sleeve. "The only way I know how. Just keep fighting through. May I ask you a personal question about it?"

"You can ask. I can't promise that i'll answer, you know how the world goes."

Ralph glanced at the wrist knife.

"You know the Mack boys let that past. They know me, and I told them to let it pass. You might want to be more then a little cautious waving that around in the office of the Godfather, no matter if i'm your uncle or no."

Moving his wrist back so the blade would retreat. "What made you give up our other life? The one of the blade?"

Smirking and placing his arm down after asking his question. "Come on, Uncle you know I am harmless to you." Looking down as he remembered what had happened to his father the whole reason he was here in America in the first place. "Well atleast.. I ... think.. I ... am." He spoke with a bit of sadness in his voice.
