Dance first. Think later.
It's the natural order.

                                                          ―Samuel Beckett

"Loosen up. Please. Girl. You're killing me. Have some fun. No joke, you look like you want to die." Nene placed a hand on her hip as she sipped on a fancy cocktail. Inside, Yoko's flat expression was killing her. They were currently at Tinks Karaoke Bar, in Las Vegas. It was midnight. But for Nene, and Yoko too - the night was still young. For some reason though, Yoko did not want to get in the fun of whatever Nene had planned for her. She had too much to drink and she just wanted to sleep. Her bestfriend had other ideas. "I'm just tired. Go away." Yoko waved a hand at her before resting her hand on the bar counter. Nene rolled her eyes, and wrapped her hands around her wrist, gently pulling her off the seat. "You're also drunk. That's great! So come join me for a late night karaoke sesh," Nene insisted. Yoko replied without looking up. "I really d-"

"How can we come to a karaoke bar WITHOUT indulging in some karaoke? Oh my goodness. Please Yoko!" She let out a whine, making Yoko cringe even more.

"No, really, I'm fi-"

Nene pouted, pulling her again. A lot less gentle now. "You know I don't take no for an answer, right?"

"Yeah, I know that all too well now." Yoko mumbled into her arm. She really was tired, and also didn't want to get made fun or exposed by Nene at work tomorrow morning. Plus, she had to clock in early. Her bed was calling out for her. However, despite all that, Yoko knew that she couldn't win this argument with Nene. She knew that Nene would just keep persuading her to join her. Yoko felt defeated. She looked up, finally, into her eyes with a look of distress. She thought that Nene would maybe empathize with her a little but, but no... Instead she was met with sheer disappointment.

Nene was as happy as a pig rolling in mud. "Yassssss. Now come on. Do I have to drag you to the sofas myself?" Nene smiled.

A throbbing ache persisted in Yoko's head. It was overpowering her desire to get up and join her. "My head hurts." She frowned slightly. Nene felt bad. She knew that Yoko must be feeling a little woozy, but Nene was drunk as well. When Nene was drunk, she can be what you call - inconsiderate? Thank goodness that isn't her when sober, although maybe others would beg to differ. "Oh, my sweet summer child, hold my hand and I'll make you feel all better." Nene moved her hand from her wrist to the back of Yoko's head, rubbing it gently. Sober Yoko would swat her hand away, but again, she was tired and drunk so she groaned angrily.

"I hate you."

"You love me."

"What song are we singing?" Yoko stared at her sleepily. They were both in the main karaoke lounge now. Nene smiled delightfully and handed her a black binder folder. "There's a song book. Here, hold this and look through it. I'm going to take a piss." She walked away, leaving Yoko to decide on what they will sing. Nene was confident that they were going to have some fun, despite feeling tired and all. Nene didn't like to sing - AT ALL. Neither did Yoko. But when you're out here in Las Vegas visiting a karaoke bar, just get some tequila shots in you and let it do its magic. Of course though - Nene was somewhat mindful about her drinking portions. Mama always knew her child would take after her and become a lightweight.

"Kay. Don't be too long. I want to get this over and done with." Yoko snorted, flicking through the pages in an aggressive manner. While she waited for Nene to finish her pissing break, Yoko thought to herself, wow I am really happy to have a friend like her. It's like she knew whenever Yoko was overthinking, and all she wanted was to just ease Yoko of whatever she was stressing about. It's great. So, when Nene came back, Yoko had a lot less bitter attitude. "K. I'm back. What did you end up choosing?" Nene came walking out the bathroom and sat on the purple sofa holding two microphones, ready to be blessed by the voices of these two young lasses.

"I kind of just closed my eyes and made my finger land on a random spot."

Nene raised her eyebrows in surprise. "And you got...?"

"Somewhere over the rainbow."

Now this song was one of the most popular songs in their time. Nene couldn't be mad at singing a little ballad. Nene got hyped up so quickly and she practically jumped up from her seat, handing Yoko the other mic. "OMG. Slay my queen. Give it to me."

"I hate you so much right now. Give me the mic."

Yoko had a sudden change in attitude. It surprised Nene, but was delighted at the fact that Yoko could let go of her inhibitions. Nene may spill this experience with Ambrocio and the other guards, but hey - you gotta live a little. Whether you're embarrassing your workmates, or a crowd of strangers, the show must go on. "I'm so ready for this." Nene smiled, before putting her mouth closer to the mic. Yoko was in her own element. It was kind of funny. She was moving one hand around while the other was holding onto the microphone. Nene took glances at her the whole time, laughing and feeling mesmerized at the same time. She was the life of the party when she allowed herself to be.

Yoko: "Somewhere overrr the rainbowWWWW, way uPPP hiiiiiigh. There's a land that I've heard oooffff.. Once in a lullaaby.. Somewhereee OVERRRr the rainbow... Skies aaarae blueeeee. And the dreams that you dare to dream really come true.."

Nene: "Some day you'll wish upon a star, and wake up where the clouds are far behiiiiiind meeeee..."

Yoko: "Where troubles melt like lemon drops."

Nene: "Away above the chimney tops!"

Two girls having the time of their life, at two am in the morning. Casual things. Here, there, everywhere. When the song ended, they both fell onto the purple sofa, laughing their heads off. Yoko wiped a drop of sweat from her forehead. "I'm really going to collapse in about two seconds. I'm so tired."

"Did you have fun though? Don't front." Nene smiled sheepishly. "Oh yeah, for sure. You press my buttons, but you do it well." It was true. Oh, so true. Yoko could be feeling her worst on a sunny day, but she knew Nene was there to step in to shine her angel light on her. Nene loved her bitch and would do anything for her. She stood up, shaking off the giggle dust and wrapped an arm around Yoko.

"Come on girly, I'll take you home. You had a lot to drink tonight. We'll talk tomorrow at work. For now though, just rest your head on my shoulder."

Yoko's voice was trailing off as she stood up. They were heading out the karaoke bar when she says, "I love you Nene my sweet bestfriend in the whooole world....."
